Afgani - Secret Closet CFL Grow, First real Attempt
Ok so my big problem is she keeps getting taller and taller.
As of today I measured her at 33 inches high.
I have had to raise my shelf that holds all my clip lamps up all the way and have added dvd under the shelf to raise it even higher and still not enough.
I changed my light setup and added a few reflectors to keep the light directed at the plant. I have 4 lamps surrounding her. All four lamps have Y splitters. In each lamp I have 1 23watt and 1 40watt. 2 of the 40 watt bulbs are 4100kalvin bulbs and I have set it up so they are across each other with the other 2 lamps each having 1 23watt 2700kalvin and 1 40watt 2700kalvin I then have 3 more 23 watt bulbs at the top shining light onto the main cola thus putting out 21600 lumens all around her.
So. I dunno what to do really. I have about 6 dvds under her as I raised the shelf as High as I could to avoid have to do so again and I could probably get it another few inchs higher but still wtf. Is it possible to cut the main stem and make a cuttin/clone out of her?
Does anyone have any ideas on what I could try.
Not only that I was advised to put mylar or tinfoil under the plant and over the dirt to help with light reflections for the bottom leaves. I tried it out. Seems that all it does is keep the top soil more moist. Today when I removed to water, I noticed some fuzzy looking white stuff, I touched it and it seemed to be roots, upon further inspections it was, there was not much but it looked like some roots were comming up. Anyone had this before.
Here are some pics from yesturday.

Cuttings look worse today.

of course you should give them another go. don't get discouraged, you gained experience.
don't worry about it and don't get caught up in the hype. i took four clones from a lady 3+ weeks into flower. i cut them off with a tiny pair of nail scissors, scraped about an inch of the skin off of the bottom of the cutting, dipped them into superthrive and plopped them into miracle grow soil. no misting, no dome, no nothing. 100% success rate.
i'm not saying all of those things won't increase your success rate, but don't live and die by it all. find what works for you.
the only failure would be not to try again.

Agreed. Im going to try and revive these little ones. Going to get a dome in the morning and see what I can work. Not going to give up, and I see where your coming from about doing it which everway, it only sounds like those things would make for stronger and more successful cloneing, and again, you learn from doing, and sometimes have to find out only by doing so, im doing lol. I got pissed today and took them out. Left them in the kitchin on the table, will throw em back in in the morning. Thank for the imput Shake, I appreciate it.

I have a funny story. It was funny to me at least.
This morning I went to canadain tire and got this nifty 36 pelet greenhouse. The base is a 36 holder of these little peat pelet discs and has a maze type water path so you just water the base and it goes everywhere.
I decided to give the cuttings one more go.
I had actually left enough room to cut of what I had originally done and scarify properly. Already since this morning they are looking much better, arms are getting stronger and leaves are getting less rubbery.
On the side of my height issue. Has anyone any ideas on what I should do?

Yeah, I wasn;t really too careful with my clones either... and I also took some about 3 weeks into flower as well, they did take longer to root than the first batch though.
All I did was snip them off with regular garden sheers (very sharp ones), i dropped them in a cup of regular water for a couple minutes.
then i cut off the extra stem using a diagonal cut, dripped in rooting horme (shultz powdery stuff), made a pencil sized hole in the soil about 1/2 - 1" deep, stuck the cutting in the soil and packed dirt up around the stem.
i did find the humidity domes did alot for me though... mine got really really droopy without them

As for the height problem... really not too sure, its too late to LST it i think, certainly too late to top/FIM.
they should stop stretching at some point, but its hard to say when

Thanks for the imput syde. Ya Iv read that it should stop going up. Well see. Ya I didnt really read to much up on fming or topping. Its all good I think. I never did tell my story tho. While I was looking around at stuff I put my keys down as I had burned a bit before leaving and I was at the cash and started stressing out then the woman started counting her till and I was almost late for work and wow it was a stressful morning. All good tho. One thing I was thinking. The clones are in the same room as my 12/12 should I give them 24/0 or will they be ok in 12/12?

are they cuttings or rooted clones? If they are rooted they can go directly into 12/12

place cuttings under 24/0 (or 18/6, that's what i used). 12/12 and they will continue to flower.
keep in mind that clones don't need much light at all. so you can keep them under a CFL or two until they root as they won't be doing much up top until they have roots.

What Im asking is more can I leave them under 12/12 even tho they will continue to flower. Or are you suggesting that I go back to 18/6 and get them bigger then flower again? I mean all i wanted to do was potentially get more bud on the lower branches. I can deffinitly say they are doing better. Ill put a pic up in a few days
