Updates from 7-28-08, since the server's been down.
3 definite males, pulled em out and threw em away. 3 definite females, and 2 that i'm keeping my eye on but that i'm fairly sure are female.
First pic is the 5 girls left. Second and third are the only good close ups I could get of females, fourth is a blurry balls shot.
Gonna transplant into 3 gallons tonight I think, will post back with updated pics after.

Great work so far!! I am just getting ready for my first grow and JTR was also my choice. The onl thing I will be doing different is growing in coco with a 600 HPS. Should be interesting to comapre notes afterwards.
I was also looking at those leds and was thinking about getting 2 of them. I could then run 800 watts for the cost of 200 watts. I would love to see them come down a little in price frst though and am waiting to see a couple more grows. Im really looking to see if you finish up with nice dense buds or if they finish loose.
yeah grow, the plants all started off with good, dense growth, but theyre nowhere near uniform anymore and I worry about the procyon / cfls ability to penetrate the foliage...
I'm assuming that this weekend would be a good time to cut a few clones and make myself a mommy? that means another trip to home depot... yayy, havent been in a few weeks
PS -- transplanted into 3 gallons last night, went very well, am using every square inch of floor space now... definitely trying scrog next time, itll be nice to have a little more control over how the girls grow...
update later w pics from last night

hey spoof,
i dont know why you would have penetration issues...see the buds on the lower left of this pic? they were 2 1/2' feet from the arrays for about a month. and while we did prune away some, they werent in direct light the whole time. I'd think with the cfls added you should do wonderful. just do some light(no pun intended lol) rotation to your plants, move a leaf here or there. we had an uneven canopy across three level lights and it worked out ok(of course it could be better but it was an f1 so we worked with it).
keep up the good work:thumbsup:

Hey DR, have you sexed em yet? If not I would wait on the clones until you know for sure who the ladies are.
They look great and accoding to the breeder your growing these just right, No sog or scrog just grow em put as a bush.

Jack the Ripper is well named because it is absolutely killer weed. A true 8 week Sativa Haze the first thing growers notice is the incredible lemon smell and heavy resin production. It has been described by UK growers as the best 8 week haze ever produced.
This plant will produce triangle shaped spear buds that pretty much stopped active calyx growth early and produced copious amounts of resin instead, resin production was evident from day 12 in 12/12 but really started to fatten up the heads around day 50 or so.
I find it performs best unstopped with a long vegetive period. The high is very creeper at first you may think that its not so strong but then whammo...it hits you hard and there's no turning back then...you will be deep in thought and meditative for quite some time...the duration and intensity is strong and thought provoking.
1. Phenotypes - Two main phenotypes both with a Lemon Haze smell and short growth one tends to be more a pine smell.
2. Height-Look for the Short Pheno/ Colas swell late
3. Yield-Medium-Heavy / Moderate trim work
4. Indoor/ Outdoor
5. Best way to grow- Untopped and vegged to a full bush.
6. Harvest Window_8-9 weeks
7. Sativa/ Indica 70/30
8. Hybrid-Pluton X Purple Haze X Lambsbread X NL X Jack Herer X Romulan X Cindy99BCGA
9. High type-Intense, trippy, visual, phase shifting, increased heart rate, heavy crash increased appetite, pain relief, paranoia
grow -- yeah, theyve been in flower for almost 2 weeks now, i pitched 3 males and im 95% sure the 5 i have left are all girls...
db -- hah having never grown before, im not quite sure what to expect. so far i dont appear to be having any issues, i just worry with how leggy some of the girls are getting as well as the fact that i can maybe raise my lights another 6 inches... i may have to top these girls or something, i'm sure i'll be asking ya'll for advice on that soon too lol
Here's the pics of the 5 girls before their transplant last nite. didnt take any pics of the after, as it was past 1 am when i was done and i just wanted to hit the hay. The 2 girls in the first pic are 24 and 17" tall, and the 3 in the second are 13, 15, and 19" tall... the 15" one actually grew two main stems, it was my late planted seed so I guess it had to branch out early to find light... crazy.

Hmm, it appears the transplant has stunted the girls' growth a little. All gained about an inch in the last 4 days after averaging 3-4 inches every 4 days for the first week and a half of flowering... i buried some of them a little deeper than intended, and screwed up the root ball of one, which is prolly why its the runt of the group. =(
Here's some pics. First 3 are the girls out for watering, second 2 are a shot of them in the growhut... like I said, starting to run out of room and I have 6 weeks left! lol... didnt get to cloning this weekend, realized I'm short on ingredients and somewhat long on time... so surprisingly, i procrastinated. ;)
