Turtle what am I looking at in this picture? I see the fan and the walmart bag and something that looks like a radiator?????
Nevermind, I got it. Fart fan.

I don't want to do the transplant yet because:
Let's say I shock the too much with the transplant, then my real grow is fucked.
Soooo... I was thinking to do the transplant just after I take my clones for the actual grow...
Schedule:
1- Clones for sex.
2- Clones for actual grow
3- Transplant mother plants
Dude, I know, I know! You're going to kill me... but what do you think about the shock thing? They're mothers anyway... ???
On another note Rasta, my X10 timers arrived... well, half of the order anyway. So, I hope that if the entire order is complete by tomorrow, I'll do my cloning for sex the day after.
I was looking at the videos tCreator so kindly uploaded, and I heard one guy say that to clone for sex you should put them into an 8/16 light schedule... 8 light, 16 dark. Straight off the bat. As soon as you cut them. What do you think? I think I'll go for it... unless you've got more input.
I've uploaded two photos... first one is an overall shot, second one is my setup... ok, part of it. You can see in that second photo that this really is a "Closet/Cabinet Grow".
Thanks guys,

Gen,
I see that you got the ballast idea, but just in case, here's a picture for you. Hope this helps.
As to the performance, I suggest to anybody to air cool your ballasts. Mine doesn't even run warm! Really! Before, fanless it ran pretty hot (not overly hot, but hot nontheless). With the fan I had on its side, it ran warm. But with this "cooling box", wow!!! The ballast doesn't even run warm! It's cool! Super cool!
Ooops...Quote:

Check out HD's stress-less transplanting in the FAQ's and then post pics of your newly transplanted ladies :)Quote:

Turtle how many growrooms/cabinets do you have?
Oh I got your invite cant wait to bangout
Yeah Dr. Kaze, I close the 1st door (the cabinet's), and then I close the actual closet sliding door.Quote:

So nothing, I'm going to buy some 1"x2" wood and build those frames... it's going to end up super!
As to the crate, yeah, I know. But I was thinking what to do, and I saw an idea in Trichome Creator's "Professional Growroom Pictures" thread... somebody (don't remember who) used a 6" PVC pipe with cuts on its side to make a base that you can move up/down. I think I'll do something like that.
What up Buck?!! :DQuote:

As to Halo... ohhhhhh yeaaaahhhhhhhhhh!!! This shit is going to be FUN!!!! :)
<><><><><>
Slight change of topic:::
I was reading over in OverGrow.com some threads... I searched for "fog" and a lot of threads came up. Shitloads of them.
So I started reading and sifting through them, and the most interesting one was a guy that used a Shira [?] fogger... everyone else was making hop-scotch setups with Walgreens humidifiers.
Problems they encountered: crust/slime on the fogger heads, malfunctioning of the heads, fog was "hot", too much noise, not enough fog, etc.
Then, what most impressed me was the Shira fogger... that fucking thing costs like $700!!! And that's the singled-head model! The 6 head model costs like $2,000 !!!!
In addition, they guy using the Shira had it break down a couple of times... that SUCKS.
I think I've got a couple of their problems nailed down:
Slime/cleaning: The NutraMist has Teflon coated heads... :) Cleaning needs to be done once a months (per manufacturer's recommendations). The Shira guy was cleaning about twice a week!
Not enough fog: I turned my system ON... trust me, plenty of "enough fog".
Malfunctioning: It can happen, but I doubt it. Like I said, the NutraMist is a very well thought out piece of engineering work.
Hot fog: Walgreens humidifiers... not the NutraMist. Cool fog...
Of interest, was that the guy had runnning a hybrid "aero" hydro setup and pumping fog into the growing chamber... but, his $700 fogger broke down a couple of times.
He did notice that the plants had major improvements with the fog turned ON. And he had some really nice, bushy and "spongy"-looking roots.
Ahhhh.... that's it... later guys,

Hello guys,
I just received my X10 timers... I'm still in need of receiving the X10 controller.
Anyways, I wanted to wire the timers for the 600W HPS and the 400W MH. I've got one timer for each... they're rated for 15Amps. I've always done my electrical stuff my self and never had any problems... but I just wanted to have input from you guys...
Ok, I'm uploading a picture of the timer and its instructions... they're readable. I want to make sure I do this right.
I'm thinking of taking a plug (3-prong) and buying some 12AWG wire (the same as the timer's). Then, connecting my 3-prong plug as usuall... ok, now my question(s)...
The white cable, neutral, ok, that's the third prong (the round one).
The black cable, that goes to which "blade" of the prong?
Then (please correct me if I'm wrong), I connect the blue cable to the cable going to the ballast's plug.
Then, the ballast's plug, has one cable that goes from itself to the "wall's 3-prong plug"... without connecting to the X10 timer...
Am I right? I'll post pictures when I actually do it... but I need to buy some materials before I do it. I need cables (12AWG and 18AWG), 2x 3-prong females, 2x 3-prong males, shrink wrap (optional).
Thanks for the input and help,
-turtle420
Ok, timers all all ready to go. :) Thanks Zandor for the help.
Interesting side-note: My temperatures during the "day" are lower (colder) than the temperatures during the "night".
Reason for this being that I've got my plants setup to have their 6 hours of darkness during the 11am to 5pm hours... because that's the hottest part of the day.
So, I shut them off @ about 11am, and I stop intaking "hot" air from outside. When the temperatures go down (about 4:30 - 5pm) I re-light my growroom.
Because of this, I've seen in the early morning (6am) that my temperatures go down to about 77F or maybe even 72F. During the "dark" period of my plants, the temperature might be hovering around 85F.
I realize it should be the other way around, but I just wanted to make a footnote here. I'll use this thread in the future as my refference.
Over and out,

Hello,
Bumpy question: I plan on using a RO+DI (Reverse Osmosis + De Ionized) water filter for the grow... Can I use the 3-part GH nutes and GO? Or should I add CalMag or some other product?
Thank Y O U :),

Hello,
I'm uploading a couple of pictures.
The first 3 I'd like you to see the yellowing leaves. I ain't going insane for them, because, overall, the plants are healthy. But, I'm getting those yellowing leaves @ the bottom.
I've been feeding them (for the last 2 waterings): Brita water, SuperTHRIVE and Schlutz Cactus Juice.
The fourth picture is a view of the best-looking growth... in my opinion.
The 5th picture if a "overall" view of the girls.
Hey Rasta, question: What do you think of taking a clone of the female (when known), then re-plant that little clone to grow it to be our new "mother plant". Then it's not going to be all bent and stuff. ???
Good day everyone,
-turtle420
Hello,
More questions:
I'm uploading a picture. You can see the grow cabinet there, and a couple of lines I drew.
The red line measures about 45inches... the total usable height of the box.
The green line is about 12 inches high (from the Mylared bottom). I plan on using a big Sterilite tub... about 12 inches high... I was planning on using a shorter tub, but maybe I'll run out of root space. That would suck.
Anyway, my doubts: I plan on leaving about 8 inches between the top of the tub, and the SCRoG's screen. Is this enough?
If done this way, the SCRoG would be filled more or less like the picture with the mother plants. Thus, the light would be about 12" away from the canopy.
I can still lower the light, and raise it about 5 inches.
Ideas? Thank you for your time :)
-turtle420

what state?

Hello... got all of my timers today!!! WuuuhuuuuUUUU!!!!
I'm planning on cloning for sex tomorrow, or at most, on Saturday. Rasta! Yes, I'll transplant on Saturday at most... :)
QUESTION: I was thinking... if I'm going to have tiny ass clones... and I'm going to 12/12 them to determine sex,.... what do you say if I let them live after I find out their sex... Why? Well, I was thinking that the small-ass female buds will get pollinated by the small-balls male sacks and make me a couple of seeds.
Ideas? Will it work? Yes? No? Only getting out 3.2 seeds? Input, please :)
May The Lord Bless You All,
-turtle420
Hey turtle, I must confess I did not read everything..
question..
why do you havethe plants so high.. if you have any concern about vertical space, lower your plants NOW.. MAke life easy on yourself : )
As you know, your plants are going to double in size (at least) when you 12/12. The screen will be fine if it is at the same height of your plants when you start the 12/12.
What state? c'mon?
I love you

After that, I take clones again (I'm thinking somewhere between 4 and 8) and start my actual grow. The grow will consist of the NutraMist fog system.
QUESTION: Will 12" Sterilite tubs be enough for root growth? Dimensions? Well, 12" high and as big as they come... as long as they fit inside 20"x40".
Ideas?
I'll eMail you tomorrow. I'm keeping my "Paranoia Levels" high for the time-being.Quote:

Hello girls and boys,
I'd like to give the update on the plants.
::::::
Today, I installed the X10 timers. Very very usefull things! I'd like to clear one thing up::: a couple of posts ago, I wrote that I'd be able to make ON/OFF cycles as short as 1 second with an X10 timer. I was wrong. I don't know if the limitation is software-side or hardware-side... but the shortest cycle I can do with my units is 1minute.
Other than that, I plan on buying a hole bunch of other timers to control all sorts of stuff throughout my house. Yes, they are that fun.
I setup the system to turn ON the cooling fans (90CFM cool tube + 50CFM ballast) about 2 minutes AFTER the 400W MH turns ON. The fresh air fans (Dayton 550CFM + 8" table fan) turn ON about 2 minutes BEFORE the 400W MH.
When I install the 600W HPS, I guess I'll do the same setup, but turn the HPS a couple of minutes AFTER the MH... say, 15 minutes after?
As you can see about my senseless ramblings, I'm very psyched about the X10 timers. It's very comforting to know that all timers are running at exactly the same time. You know the manual timers, where you give your self a plus/minus 20 minutes to compensate for any "global time" inconsistencies/lag. If the power goes out, the X10 controller still retains all programs (ON/OFF cycles) and the clock power... so everything will return to normal once the power comes back on.
Tomorrow, I'm going to install the 50CFM fart fan into the mother cabinet, prepare the clone's pot, cut the clones, and put them into 8/16.
QUESTION: About how long will I have to wait before they show their sex? 2 weeks?
<_-+-_><_-+-_><_-+-_>
I bought a big Sterilite tub today... it was the one that best fit the box. It's dimensions are: 12" high, 16" wide x 35" long. It has a 90 quart capacity (90/4= 22.5 gallons), or 85 Liters. I hope that's enough root growth space for 4 or 6 plants.
The more I think about the use of the NutraMist fogger setup, the more I get convinced it will probably be operating like an Ebb&Flood system. I'm guessing I'll be leaving the fogger ON for 3 minutes, then OFF for 27... two cycles per hour. During nightime, maybe 3 minutes ON, 57 OFF. ??? Ideas? Suggestions?
I need to do ASAP: Build a carbon air scrubber. 50CFM fart fan into mother cab. 2"x1" "frame" for cabinet's front wood panel (aka, the door).
I've uploaded some pictures... you can see in one of them that the plants are like SUPER MEGA taller... When I got back home, the lights were turned ON (as planned :) ). I removed the front wood panel to open my cabinet, and... HOLY SHIT! W H A T T H E F U C K ? ? ?
Apparently, during night time, the big plant decided to stretch its muscles... ripping its self free from my elaborate web of gardening cable ties... those cable ties I bought for $0.40... I'm almost sure I bought the cheapest thing Sears has ever sold in the last 5 years.
Anyways... when I saw the plants, it was like "Oh shit... now what the fuck do I do???" But I grabbed the cable ties, and with care and relaxation, got them back bent down. They're still a little sideways, but I'm sure that by tomorrow, they'll be growing up again.
I must admit that the plant, extended like 20 inches up into the air, looked gorgeous. It looked like a very healthy living organism. It would definitely make a perfect house plant. But, I'm guessing I won't see that for some time... as my mothers are tied down and my clones will be too... but I got pictures of it :D
Interesting notes on plant growth: The secondaries are growing like crazy... shooting up all over the place. When I do the transplant (shit... Rasta... dude, I don't know what to say,...) I'm guessing they'll stretch some more. I have doubts about what I'm about to do: If I cut off a couple of secondaries from my mother plant, will she grow new ones in their place? What happens to the small stub? Will I have problems down the road in getting my clone "prospects"? I guess not, as Zandor has a moFo mother plant that's like 5 or 6 years into life. ???? Sorry, stoned newb questions.
I'll post the pictures in a while... when I go to the other computer. Thanks for stopping by and reading my quasi-book. :)
-turtle420
as always looken real good.. i guess this is why the turtle always beat the rabbit in that race...except that one time when the rabbit was bugs bunny..well whatever ..keep up the good grow bro..1
You ain't a newb anymore... you're a novice by far, a few months and you'll have learned everything you can. They'll show sex soon, don't worry about that though, you're doing great, and they're growin' like crazy, so You're obviously doing things right. Just be patient, and good things will come your way...
P.S. If there are no transplant pics tommorow I kill :D
  nice
Bk, Rasta and Buk, Thanks for the kind words! :) Thanks :) :) :)
I'm uploading some pics.
The 1st pic is of when I opened the cabinet, and found the ones on the left growing towards the stratosphere... Pic #2 is after I re-tied them and placed them in the cabinet.
Picture 3 is what they looked like outside the cabinet, before I tied them down. In my opinion, gorgeous!
What do you think guys?
-turtle420
BTW: Today is Day 95 of the plants, but the pics are from yesterday... thus, the "Day 94 Update" in the title.
Uy... sorry guys... uploaded the pics, but then noticed that I should had edited them... re-uploading the same pics, after editing.
I never got this, are you still in veg or what??
Yeah... still on veg. Veggies for ever... They're mother plants. Good looking, eh?! :D :DQuote:
