Colorado Dispensary Reviews
I meet up with my new care giver yesterday. This guy is VERY cool, and very real about growing great MJ for people at a great cost. His dream is to grow, make good money and help a lot of people. His grows are located in one of Boulder's "MMJ Grow Zones", he's had the fire department and all the other regulatory commissions out and their certificates hang on the wall. It feels good to have a guy like this taking care of you.
He's got a LOT of different crops coming in, and he told me that when he does, or when he's selecting between plants, he'll hook me up with a good portion of each one to get my thoughts.
And that's only part of the perks. What am I saying is, forget the dispensaries, except for the few that are going to offer top notch bud at decent prices.
And Puffer Lungs, after having some of my grower's stuff yesterday, I can now tell a HUGE difference between bad Kind and good/great kind. Back in the day, where I'm from, something like perm would have been a Godsend. Now it's a waste of money.
Here's to progress! :stoned:

Agreed. I personally think the dispensaries are being greedy right now. On the one hand - it is REALLY nice to be able to access legal medication and get a receipt. I have no problem paying taxes on it. Everything on the "up and up" across the board. On the other hand - they are charging way too much for mediocre quality.
Unfortunately for the dispensary, people are getting wise to them and it's starting to get competitive.

I'm gonna have to say that I agree with you. Having a great caregiver who supplies quality bud at fair prices is the best way to go. Maybe hit a few dispensaries here and there just to mix it up.

I think a few years from now, we'll all look back and laugh about the great pot shop boom. The fact is that most everyone will end up with a caregiver, who gives them a percentage of the harvest for FREE, and everything else at a great price. It's a money maker, and a person who grows well could fill up a football field with weed every month considering all the people who would LOVE to save $280.00 to $400.00 monthly, and all they have to do is sign a piece of paper.
I know growers who are doing this, and they are stoked that they get to grow (and profit) more and at the same time, HELP PEOPLE OUT! We are in a shitty economy (for a lot of people) and the general thinking is, "Hey, if a guy can have a little more money for his kids at Christmas, and all I have to do is share a little of what is ALREADY HIS to begin with, then great".
I like this model, it makes a lot of sense.

Thank you. That is honest no-greed situation is what it comes down to. Damn, The point is non-profit. So cover all business expenses. period. Owner is not supposed to benefit in any way fiscally. All im saying is keep profits at a minimum, you're still making enough money to live a avg. life and you could grow medical marijuana as a living, but no matter how good the meds. are their should be no more 60 1/8's. Should be like 30. Then profits will be at 50% or something, compared to the average 300% that one could make from a X amount of investment and 3 months, if used at full potential. Those are black market prices that people have, why? They are making money. The point here is to make it better for the patients and not as profitable for the grower. Notice i did'nt say not profitable, just not AS profitable. It's too much of a gold mine right now with idiots coming in with money and just using it to invest. Not to say i would'nt do that to get started but im just talkn out my ass. So it's whatever lol. My point is i am for sure i could supply as much meds as each patient needs off of 3 plants. I mean who is smkn more than 1 oz a week?

That really doesn't work, with so many factors to consider , including inexperience in horticulture.

Man, we really should start breaking reviews out into separate threads. Each dispensary should have it's own thread when a new review is posted and then others can post their experience under that... this thread is getting WAY to fucking cumbersome to get around in!! I remember seeing reviews in here, but it takes me forever to find them again when I'm looking for them...

i had this problem too so i put my delta-9 review in their thread and likewise with my ccf review. i might be going back to grateful meds soon and probably update my last review of them in their thread. every dispensary owner should have a profile on here. :)

Good idea.
Although not from a clinic, last night i picked up 5 grams, all different strains.
Best to worst 1-5, w/ nothing below a C- i would say. But not one of them was A+ neither.
1. GDP A-
2. Maui Waui B+
3. sour d B-
4. "kush" Was not OG, But minor soapy taste. C+
5. Some kind of "Headband" C-
He also had some "cherry pie" that was 25 a g. Screw that so i did'nt buy it.
EDIT: For grading, and price. $85.oo. Decent deal!!!:pimp:

Hey all, here's a directory to search for dispensaries - Medical Marijuana Dispensaries and Doctors - if you find one not listed, let them know.

I just drove to C3, which I (for some reason) thought was open today. I'm sure I found a web page saying Sunday 12-5. However that was NOT the case. Now I can't find it again.
Anyone know one on the north end of town that IS open today??

Never mind, I went out to CCF. Really nice people. I'll review what I bought when I've tried it.
However this is their Holiday party weekend. They had food, gave me a free gram and even gave me some growing advise.
Like I said, really nice people.

Has anyone tried S.E.C.A.M?
Its in Franktown which is just south of Parker. I have tried other dispenaries but I always seem to come back to this one, although I do live pretty close to this place but I can see how it could be a long drive for most of you guys. I just recently pick up some bubble kush, shiskaberry, and huckleberry. All were very potent and very flavorful. Some of the best buds ive had. Prices for strains ive had are $60/8th and $20/gram (including tax) i think they might have some as low as $45/8th but im not positive. Ive never tried any of their edibles, but they always seem to have a bunch of different treats. They always have clones there. I think its definitely a place worth checking out.
heres their info from weedmaps

Just wanted to mention a very nice place I visited on Monday. It's Rocky Mountain Farmacy and IMO it's one of the most professional, pleasant and affordable places around.
Apparently they are opening two more locations which is wonderful since they are presently located on 17th and Emerson and parking can be a painful experience.
They have a nice variety of 20 or so strains, all looked very nice. We picked up a tossed salad including Inca Goo, LA Conf, Blue Dream, Purple Princess Kush, Sweet Berry Green and Perma Frost. Very satisfied will each one.
The young men in the dispensary were pleasant and did not touch my medication by using chop sticks to remove them. They asked every question very well and if they did not have the exact information on the strain memorized they used a booklet with information recorded about each strain.
Their website is very informative, and there prices are below the norm especially on mondays. Check them out here: Rocky Mountains Farmacy

Wow that sounds like pretty fair prices. I'm gonna check this place as soon as I get back in town, although I just picked up an O at Grateful Meds and THC. I need to write up a review for GM too.

Good point, however even if tax is thrown on top that's a good price for me for now! Shit, you're lookin at ~$305 ounces on Mondays.
Right now, I've got to spend my whole afternoon to drive up to the mountains to get a $320 ounce. So, either way I think most of us would be stoked! Man, if tax isn't on top they're poised to take a huge chunk of the market. Their regular prices aren't much more than one of the better dispensary caregiver arrangements I've heard of - Delta9's $250 ounces for registered patients.
Man, does anybody else see these price drops coming? A few forward-thinkers are going to offer really fair deals like this and other dispensaries are going to have to compete or go away!

Yeah, check out THC. I think its definitely worth it. I've seen somebody bitch on here that all of their stuff is outdoor. Its not, its actually greenhouse, and I think they also have some indoor and outdoor as well.
I've even heard 2-3 guys at other dispensaries claim that outdoor isn't even medicinal grade. I totally disagree!! Most of the cannabis growers I've known over the years say they actually prefer outdoor when its done correctly. There are no worries that you have the correct light spectrum with the sun, etc. I'm sure some disagree with this but I guess its somewhat a matter of personal taste.
That being said, I've really liked everything I've gotten at THC. For example, the Mr Nice I just got doesn't look the best, but it smells and tastes amazing! And the effect is pretty much the same! When you break open a bud and the aroma explodes and the crystals are sparkling, you know you made a good choice.
The original selling point for me for THC was the low prices (320 an O). But I think typically outdoor/greenhouse should be a little cheaper than indoor.
But if I can start getting Os in Denver for 280-300, I don't think I'll make it up to THC very often... Maybe once in awhile for unique strains. But its a long frickin haul from the city.
I like this place though and its worth checking out if you like trying different buds. Their selection didn't change as much as I'd hoped over a month but they did have some new, nice looking additions in. Check out the tangerine haze! It amazingly tastes like tangerines and seems potent enough! I think strainman has photographed it and declared it the "gold standard". I've had stronger but this is a nice connoisseur strain with great flavors. I usually avoid fruity strains like "tangerine", "lemon", "orange", etc. But this shit looked too good to pass up. Also, they had some greenhouse pineapple trainwreck that looked amazing. I wish I would've picked some up!

overall it seems if you want the best prices then picking up a z at a time is the best way . Yet , not all can or want to purchase that way . A z of my meds will last me 2 months. It's going to get dry and there are other strains that will catch my eye during that time .
-
Colorado Dispensary Reviews
Most places will let you split the z up and still give you a z price. Then buy some Ball Jars that will keep them fresh.

i can't buy an oz. of the same kind cuz my tolerance gets too high. i buy eighths or quarters of lots of different strains.

I don't think I've been to a place yet that won't split an oz into 4-8 strains and still give you the oz price. That's the way to go! I just got 8 different 8ths for 320.

Tax is not included but with my $10 off coupon from the Cannabis Health Fair my oz cost $192. I still can not believe I used a coupon for marijuana .
I know I will be visiting Rocky Mountain Farmacy again. The Princess Purple Kush is really great and the LA Conf makes short work of my naseau without giving me the screaming munchies. This place deserves a big thumbs up.

Wow. I'm still psyched to check this place out. I have an oz waiting for me at home for this weekend, but I may have to run in here and pick up a couple eighths just to gauge quality.
How does the quality compare to some of the other dispensaries that you've been to? Can you maybe list a few and compare? These prices are more in line with what I believe to be fair. So if the Nugs are good quality this place could be a winner!
My favorite buds in Denver so far have come from Delta-9 and Releaf Center in Highlands.

As for the quality of the strains I got, well B+ to A overall is how I would grade them. I have been to a few dispensaries and this place rates in the top percentage.
There quality is more consistant than many places I have visisted, they do not grow their product but they stated they have one grower they use with decades of experience. The buds seem well manicured, cured and not mishandled.
This place is diffently worth checking out. Mondays are the time to go if possible with their already low prices cut even lower.

Guys, forgive me on the typo. I just noticed I quoted the price for an oz as $192. It was $292. Sure glad I linked the website to show their prices.
Guess I should not medicate before posting:error:

I was in the neighborhood and stopped by RMOM today in Golden. Purchased some of their Durbi Poison (spelling?) and a cross AK - Cherry Bomb. Pricing was $20 per gram or $50 per 1/8th ounce. You can split your 1/8th into 2 different kinds if you so wish. John was cool and professional. Didn't waste my time with idle chat before or after the sale and didn't push me about caregiver status.
I tried the Durbi Poison(spelling?) first. Not much on flavor - but it sure does the trick. :stoned: It doesn't taste bad. It doesn't taste good. Kinda tasteless to me - which is totally fine. But 5 minutes after taking 2 puffs from my pipe and I didn't care if it tasted like dirty shoe leather. WOW!! :stoned: Knocked my pain out and didn't leave me couch locked. No munchies - maybe a little - but nothing that would stop me from buying it again. I waited 45 minutes and the munchies passed.
Haven't tried the AK- CB yet.

Well then it's no wonder I liked it so much. I'm just an old school red neck. I like old school hot rods and old school airplanes - me and old school meds should get along just fine.
Thanks for the spelling help. Couldn't read the writing on the label and couldn't remember what John called it. I smelled and fondled so many different strains in the 5 minutes I was there and got baked as soon as I got home.

Nice. I heard awhile back that you could smoke here.
-

I heard that too, but I didn't ask him so I can't say it that's true or false. I don't smoke and drive anyway. So even if he allows people to medicate on premises, I wouldn't have been interested.
EDIT:
I just tried the AK - CH. It's just a tiny bit wet, but leaving the lid off for 24hrs would be approaching too dry. Hopefully it's just really gooey inside? :wtf: :D I took two hits from my glass pipe about 5 minutes ago and I'm pretty baked. Pain relief is coming on slowly. I can feel my back starting to loosen up a bit. Head feels light and my cheeks are a little flushed. :stoned:
Will have to wait and see how it turns out after 15 minutes - 40 minutes - an hour........... so far I like it.

1hr later and still having pretty good pain relief. Still baked. :stoned:
Overall impression: AK- CB works pretty good for me

quick dispensary review and related strain ;)
I checked out Medicine on the Hill in Boulder , forget the actual address but it's in a former theater. They had nice pretty buds all around , and the guy knew his stuff . He told me after my selection a bit more about the durban but it sounded nice with a decent price.
I picked up a few different strains , one which is called Magic Mountain Chronic some kind of AK-47 hybrid, name made up. All good . Of course once classes resume waiting time I imagine will be longer at times. However to counter that they are setting up an online order system so your order would be ready to be paid for once you arrive. Not bad.
A nice ambiance in the waiting area, lounge area with nice size couches and art work hanging. You get carded at the box office :), so the waiting area (currently) and I don' t know if that will change is in the store area itself.
Gave me a chance to settle in and look around before hitting the counter.
They also have a lamp / magnifying glass on the counter which was a nice touch compared to some of the other dispensaries. Though others do have magnifying lenses generally.
