Well, it makes you look a helluva lot more educated and coherent right? When I read the title I immediately thought of self promoters, which ties into the douche idiot part. People will do anything to one up you and all you can do is laugh inside, knowing at the end of the day you do a supposedly harmful drug and you still have tons more sense than people paying for an education, who dont want to be educated.
With all due respect, you seem to make a lot of generalisations; how people are raised has, believe it or not, very little impact on the person that they become.Quote:
It's just that I'm so glad my parents raised me to read, watch the news and be involved with things that are educational.
I wish more people were raised with those priorities.
I was brought up on a massive council estate in an awful neighbourhood. The schools were shockingly bad and my dad left when I was young. My mum, not being very academic herself, never really bothered getting involved with my school life.
Consequently, because I was lead by example, being young, I did badly in primary and high school.
It was only in the past few years that I realised that whilst being ignorant is all well and good, (ignorance is bliss etc!) you're only pulling the wool over your own eyes. Which is the equivilent of closing your eyes because you dislike what you are seeing right in front of you.
So I guess my point is that parents only really have an impact on you when you are young and can only live by set examples.
Some of the worlds greatest entrepreneurs left school with nothing...

Mostly these kinds of things are called communes, but truly, they are sovereign communities.
forsure
I think people should be free to do what they want and be who they want, as long as they respect and not harm others.
Sadly if you live in this nation you have to play the game, so if you're forced to you might as well be as educated about the system as possible! The other alternative, of course, is to start a cannabis.com commune somewhere :rastasmoke::hippy:Quote:

Aye, the younger general public seems to be mostly made up of ignorant individuals who like to ride around on rims that cost more than the car they put them on. I'm surprised every time I hear someone saying something positive about Obama even though his campaign has taken money from Russia, North Korea, and even Al-Qaeda. People just don't seem to take the initiative to find out anything that is going on in the world today.
I agree, maybe I jumped the gun on that one. People here the word "change", and I agree we do need change, our conservative government has always taken forever to change anything. I just think people should think beyond tomorrow. I mean, what happens if we let someone who is supported by terrorist organizations assume the most powerful position in the world? (and yes, the U.S. President is the most powerful person in the world, BBC did a special about what the next U.S. President should know about science, and they stated a lot of the ways he is the most powerful person. I think it was call Horizon: Science for the Next President, or something similar.) I don't really want to find out.Quote:
