Cannabis Capsules â?? A step-by-step guide.
I dont know if this batch turned out really well or not, but I'm making another batch on Tuesday so I'll try to decarb them (That's the oven thing I'm assuming?), and then put them on low in a slow-cooker for 5 hours :-D
I will have to upload pics later on to show you, but I took the weakest capsule and it's so far given me a nice floaty feeling (about 2 hours in)
There's 1 that has about 3x as much of the solution in it, so I'm going to try that one tomorrow in the morning and see if I'm rolling around lunch-time hehe
Even if the recipe didnt work for me this time, it's definitely easilly enough to repeat :-D

Just a quick update: Tried 2 of them, and neither worked very much :(
Had some food and that was awesome, but overall not a REALLY strong high
I suspect it's because the coconut oil that I used was a cheap brand, and i dont think it was pure coconut oil/didnt have the right nutrients to absorb the most thc
So i'm going to try another small batch of 6 caps from ~1g of bud.
The plan is to leave the mixture to set in the egg cup, and then spoon it out so that it's easier to cap (I tried capping the liquid/plant matter today, it's not easy w/a syringe if you cant get your weed powdered hehe)
Anyway, I may or may not decarb the bud first, as I read somewhere on another forum that when using in slow-cooker with the oil, it decarbs gradually and then begins to combine with the oil.
Can anyone verify/confirm/deny/disprove this?
Either way i just want it clarified hehe
Cannabis Capsules â?? A step-by-step guide.
I am making some right now.
i personally found that it is way easier to control the temp and water getting in the ramican(sp?) to just use an empty pan with the pyrex rami in the center of the pan and the temp on between min and 2 and it keeps it right in between 225f-250f. This shit smells delicious i might just eat it all at once that would be hilarious!!! :S2:
i also added my bud to the coconut oil the night previous for maximum absorption of the weed to oil.
i'll let you guys know how they turn out..
peace

ok so i got them all capsuled up and stuff look exactly like they should i took one and licked ll the excess oil off the plate that i used to cap it up i am def feeling high i havent smoked for a few hours and i feel like i just smoked...
Cannabis Capsules â?? A step-by-step guide.
okay so the caps i made were pretty good didnt smoke weed all day yesterday and by the time i got some it was take like 2 or 3 hours after i just popped 2 and didnt even feel like smoking i was already high. but those were with the AK-47 i have some regs(mids) thes time.
im trying to cut costs. they cost me like 3.25 each last time and this way its only under .25 . i know that i will have to take more but thats ok still cheaper. i would have to 13 for one of the other ones.
oh and i switched to using oven at like 235F keeps it a lil hotter than that at like 245F and bake for 4-5 hours. i found that grinding in the with oil works quit well to release everything.

Regs works great too. Just expect a different high. Plus you can up the dosage by doing this. When I tried using the cheaper stuff I could make each one with twice the amount of weed for less than half the price.
For me a good guide for choosing weed to use is this: If I get a good high off a single bowl and it lasts a while I will use it to make caps. have to smoke a couple of bowls to get high you will have to take a couple of caps to get high.
Also, figure out how much is in each dose. If you started with 5g of cleaned and processed bud and end up with 27 capsules. Then each cap has .185g of herb in it. The average bowl has 2g in it so this would probably be a good strong dose. I use to make them with about .11g in each and I found myself always taking 2 or 3 to get the high I wanted.
You can add vaped weed to them also. Gives it more of a stoney feeling. But don't add more oil because you added vaped weed.

Hi guys
Not been around for a while so thought Iâ??d drop by to say hello to the old (and new) gang, and say â??Thanksâ?? for all the help, feedback and contributions that this thread has attracted over the â?¦wow, is it really almost two years now? Time sure does fly when youâ??re having fun.
So, I thought Iâ??d take a stab at answering a couple of the outstanding questions, and post up a couple of updated â??hints and tipsâ?? for anyone still encountering difficulty in hitting the â??sweet spotâ?? when making these.
Long term storage of â??rawâ?? THC product, and processed capsules.
Sadly, thereâ??s little scientific research into the long term storage of THC/Cannabis products other than: It degrades over time, and, when exposed to light. But, as to how much potency is lost, and over what period of time? Well, there it gets a bit vague.
As part of my own (unscientific) experimentation, Iâ??ve stored both processed and unprocessed THC/ Cannabis products in both the fridge and freezer, in a variety of forms for over a year now and thought Iâ??d post back on what I think are the best options..
In my experience the â??harsherâ?? environment of the freezer degrades the THC at a slightly faster rate than the fridge.
As part of a test, I prepared two batches of capsules earlier this year using identical THC samples. One had been stored in the freezer for six months, the other, in the fridge. Both had been sealed in vacuum packed plastic containers and kept in complete darkness.
On average, the batch made using the THC stored in the fridge was, based on the opinion of a cross section of â??testersâ??, about 20 percent stronger.
For comparison purposes, they were made â??side-by-sideâ??, cooked at the same temperature and for the same length of time.
In addition, Iâ??ve found that, â??dryâ?? THC products: Kief, powdered bubble hashes, etc do better for long term storage than regular hashes, honey oils, etc.
As far as long term storage of prepared capsules is concerned, my personal recommendation would be the fridge rather than the freezer. Preferably upright in a holder, like the â??Cap-m-quikâ?? container, or a piece of polystyrene (or florists foam) that youâ??ve put capsule sized holes in.
Stored in this way, and using coconut oil as a medium, theyâ??ll still be ok to take for up to a year, though you will lose some potency. Itâ??s a little harder to estimate but in my experience Iâ??d expect to lose somewhere around 30 percent of their original potency over the period of a year (assuming theyâ??ve been stored as outlined above).
Would love to hear anyone elseâ??s experiences of long term storage though, so feel free to post up any info. All help gratefully received.

Gelatin or Vegetarian Capsules?
Firstly, as far as getting the THC into your system is concerned, both do the job equally well. However, there are some Pros and Cons to both.
Ethically some people may not feel happy about using Gelatin capsules due to them being made from animal products (donâ??t ask where they come from if your not a vegetarian, I wouldnâ??t want to put you off, lol.).
However, from a construction point of view, the Gelatin capsules are stronger and firmer than their vegetarian counterparts making them slightly easier to handle when filling.
The thinner construction of the vegetarian capsules makes them feel somewhat â??flimsyâ?? in comparison. Also, as a consequence, they can be prone to leakage if not stored upright, and particularly if the oil used remains in liquid form.
Iâ??ve also noted that the â??smellâ?? and â??tasteâ?? of the oil permeates the vegetarian capsule membrane over time, and this can be particularly off putting for people who arenâ??t keen on the taste when they swallow them. This effect is accelerated and worsened if they are stored loosely together (part of the reason I suggest separating them out in the â??long term storageâ?? section above).
Aside from these issues, either type will dissolve within five minutes of use, so just bear in mind how, and how long you intend to store and use them.
Hope that helps.

Cooking times and temperatures.
The most critical aspect of the process.
Here I must say a big â??Thank Youâ?? to all the people who took the time and trouble to post up there personal experiences (good and bad), you guys really helped refine the process and showed everyone else what the potential pitfalls can be and how to avoid them. Cheers on behalf of us all â?? you know who you are.
As itâ??s already been covered in some detail Iâ??ll keep this part brief, but to reiterate Weedhoundâ??s most excellent advice, keep it slow and steady.
Around 225 to 250 Fahrenheit is fine.
Everyoneâ??s cooker will operate at slightly different temperatures, so get an accurate thermometer if you can, and if you want to perfect the technique, prepare a batch of oil in a cup or similar (Pyrex lab wear if you want to be really accurate) and try a couple. Give it a couple of days for your tolerance to reset, reheat the oil again at a higher temp or for a longer time, and sample again. Hell itâ??s fun, and the benefits are, youâ??ll end up using less THC for a stronger â??highâ?? when youâ??ve got the method right for your kit.
Keep up the good work
Cheers
