Hey, guys. Thanks for stopping by the thread and keeping it alive.
budbreath420, it's been a while. Glad to see you're still around. Thanks for the props.
Hound, I dunno about those lights. I believe they may work. Haven't gotten a chance to really take a good look at them, though. You should be able to upload pics if you click on the Post Reply button or the Go Advanced button. Look for the paperclip icon. Max 2mb. I'm glad you are inspired! :D
Omegagodly, thanks, bro.
Chronic Chrissy, I hope you get a chance to read the whole thing. I'm actually going to be rereading it all myself here soon. I dunno what you mean about 'blowing smoke.' I mean, I know I said it, but are you just relating to what I said or are you saying that 'my' plants suck? Just to clarify. :D My feelings won't be hurt. I accept constructive criticism. :D
I've been hanging out in other areas of the boards for a little while recently, which is why I haven't been in here much. Also working on making a slideshow summary of this log (I've got a bit of writer's block) and putting it at the front of my next log (JOURNAL OF A MADMAN II) coming to a monitor near you soon!

TheGreenFog sorry to spam up your nice little collection here but I just wanted to reply to your rep comment (I hate no PMs but I totally understand why they would be bad here). First off, you're welcome, always happy to help out a good guy like you. 2nd off, I totally didn't even realize I had that as my sig I must have been really stoned that night :hippy:
Thanks for readin!
Oh yeah, and in regards to this thread, NICE, just, nice. I'll remember you when I plant my first seed
I just mean tha sometime I wonder if people are telling the truth about my plants or just telling me what I want to hear. I still working on finding time to read. you plants look awsome.
Ha ha, your plants ARE nice chrissy and they look happy. I don't think anyone needs to lie about how nice they look to spare your feelings.
honestly despite mistakes made your plants look great, you wouldnt be the first person i said "your plants look shitty" to cause if it was me please tell me i suck so i can improve.Quote:

Exactly, I just wantto know if they are where they should be(which people say they are) and if there is anything I can improve, since my eye is more inexperienced.Quote:

Now this is God Bud and is supposed to be a compact plant but the first plant that I grew (which end up being male :( ) grew very similar to yours. I used two fluorescent lights and a 120W incandescent. Yes I know now that that was not the best setup for it but the plant grew similar to the ones you grew in the cabinet.
Just to note the plant is turned 180 degree between the pictures.
This plant started under the 200W compact fluorescent light and seems to be much more compact than the first plant I grew. I also started to LST it (probably too soon) as you can see in the pictures. Plant was approximately 30 days old from seed in the pictures. Hey just starting to grow and learning slowly. They also have a 125W light as well but that one has less lumens to it.
Hope this helps (and the pictures work :D ).

No problem at all AB. Glad to have you. I'm a little lost...seeing as that was so long ago, I dunno what you are talking about on this ONE part of your post. I forget what I put in the rep. :eek:Quote:

Your plants are nice Chrissy. We should only blow smoke...into the air...not up eachothers' butts. :thumbsup:Quote:

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but I just don't get it. You have 4 posts, and you used 2 of them to "advertise" your light here. Maybe you can enlighten me. :) Thanks. :smokin:Quote:

Sorry if I sound confusing, I am not trying to. I also am not trying to sell any lights to anyone and I figure since you had such a nice grow that you know that more lumens means better plants.
I read the string on compact fluorescents and found that people where using 45W bulbs (or something similar) just like you. Now if you take four 45W bulb you get 180W but you donā??t get 19,000 lumens. You would get about 8,000 lumens (this may not be perfectly accurate so you can correct me if I am wrong) for the same amount of electricity (give or take a little). You have 4 compact lights in your cabinet and say that your plants are stretching probably due to low lumens (my first plant did that as well). Now you can add more of the 45W bulbs to give more lumens to stop the stretching but then you are paying more for electricity than if you got one of these bigger bulbs or even some T5ā??s. I really donā??t care where you get it from but I did look at the 120W bulbs that where in the hardware store and they only gave about 5,000 lumens per bulb.
So I am just trying to save money by getting more lumens for less watts. I would love to have a HPS but I donā??t think I could vent enough to remove that amount of heat. I just have a small closet grow.
Again I am not trying to sell nothing to anybody. I just bought this light because of the lower heat it produces and found it did a good job. Now I am trying to get my process down so I can get better result (not that I have had any yet). I read your entire log, which took a while and enjoyed all the pictures that you posted. You have given me many good ideas of what I can do and what I should be looking for (like shorter plants, my first was over seven foot). So I hope to learn more from your continued log and the new one (if I can find it).
So grow on and enjoy. Again sorry for the confusion.
Hound.
