Hello Buk :) I have a washing line prop but it's not very photogenic :o


Managed to drag one outside first thing this morning to try and get some bud picks in natural light.
I'm estimating 1-2 weeks to harvest, it's got to the stage now were I just want to get this one out of the way and get the next one started.
Going to try something different with it, keep it low and multiple pinch it, hmmm, probably turn out a disaster but worth a try ;)

Mand, your plants look AMAZING. I just finished reading the whole thread, and watching your plants progress from ugly rusty seedlings to beautiful women ;)
I'm on my first grow, and simplicity is my goal. It was refreshing to watch a plant grow from start to (almost) finish(ed) without hearing about all of the technical stuff that is usually involved. It helped me out alot, and encouraged me to keep up my grow, even when things aren't looking the best.

I have some questions for you though:
1. I didn't hear you talking about ferts and nutes that much if at all (I can't recall if you mentioned it, if so, sorry). If you used any during vegetative and/or flowering stage, what are they? I'm still confused about what to use, as my plant is 3 weeks old today, and hasn't been fed anything but water, sunshine, and CFLs. The cotyledons just fell off as well, so I figure I'm going to have to start feeding it soon.
2. Since I'm new to growing, I've been gathering information from EVERYwhere to help with my own grow. I've read and heard alot about pruning and topping. Now, I know you pinched off the new growth at the begining, so they'd branch off, but other than that, did you prune off some of the big fan leaves to get more light to the bud spots? Because I would think that it would be an easy way to increase yield.

Other than that, I wish you and your girls the best of luck during the next few weeks leading up to HARVEST! You did a great job, and really inspired me.

Hello Buk :), I think it may be a bit too potent for me Buk :o
I took off a small bud from the lower part of the plant yesterday and had ago at drying it in the microwave. Well I kept giving it a few seconds and cutting it up untill I ended up with some over incinerated remains. They looked really the worse for wear by the time I had finished but I managed to make a small joint out of them.
I didn't expect anything from them at all because they looked ruined, so in the evening I smoked it and sat with a glass of Vodka and Orange watching a film. Well you could feel the potentcy from it and it made me feel totally and utterly relaxed. After about thirty minuites I smoked a normal ciggy and then it hit me really hard, the intensity of the high was just that much all I could do was force myself to get up the stairs and go to bed. Well I lay there seeing the beach and the sea, and allsorts of colours and pictures untill I drifted off to sleep.
I'm used to smoking Skunk #1 and weed like that in recent years, so I think this one Buk is going to have to be treated with the upmost repect ;)



Hello Horror and thankyou :), Yes I like to keep it as simple as I can because I'm not to good when things start getting to technical. I'm affraid I can't answer a lot of the questions on here because they go right over my head. I don't know about the different lights only the one I use and I haven't a clue about nutrients, carbon dioxide, Ph values ............ I know they work though because the pics I've seen on here show much larger yeilds than I ever get.

As for nutrients Horror, I do give them a pinch of a plant food called Phostrogen in the watering can from time to time. I don't know if you have it in the US but I've been asked before about it so I'll put a pic on for you to see what it is. By the way Horror it's really cheap, a couple of pounds for a big box and it lasts about three or four grows:)

Good idea to find out all you can, get all the imformation in and when you find that some of it conficts just try to work out which way is best for you. Everyone has different ideas and methods, it's just finding out which way of growing you prefer ;)
No I don't prune them, I did take some leaves off at first with the rust problem but I was a little desperate then so I took drastic measures to ethier "kill or cure" them .............. to be honest I was panicking a bit :o .
Right now some of the fan leaves are starting to die off as the plants are getting towards the end of their life cycle, so if I touch them lightly and they fall off that's ok, but I never try to force them off.

Thanks mand. I just noticed that my plants 6th node is forming while I was looking at her out in the sun this morning. As soon as I get batteries for my digital camera (hopefully tonight) I'll post them on my thread in the basic growing forum... I believe it's called "My only plant" or something of the sort. It was grown from bagseed... Pretty good mids, but LOADS of seeds. I can't wait until I can try some of my own homegrown. Even though it won't be as potent as your plants or any other strain, I'm hoping it is at least more potent than the bud in which it came from. I'm tired of paying $50 dollars for a quad of mid-grade when I could grow my own of better quality.

Thanks for posting the pic of Phostrogen. When I go to the local plant store I'll be sure to look for it, now that I know what it looks like.

Mand Im just wondering, what are the NPK values of the ferts that you use? Do you use seperate ones for veg and flowering, or do you just fert when theyre in flowering?

Hello Horror :) ........... Same reason as why I started growing love ........ why buy when you can grow you're own ;) .
However once you start growing you get bitten by the growing bug and from then on it's just impossible to stop.
I made enquires a little while ago about how much a good quality weed was around these parts and was told about £200 an ounce :eek:.
I'll stick to growing because there is nothing better than a little bit of homegrown :)

I was bought up in a typical "working class" household, my Dad was a coal miner and my Mum worked in the knitwear factories. Still they bought up five kids and one thing that was not tollerated was bad manners. We were all learned to say please and thankyou, and to speak to others in the way you would wish them to speak too you ................... Good manners cost nothing but they can make someones day ;).

Hello Tom :) Oh dear Tom, now that is a question ................. To be honest love I don't even know what NPK stands for :o. I have seen it written about quite a lot but I'm affraid I tend to just bypass the technical bits.
I just put a large pinch of Phostrogen plant food in the watering can, usually every other time it is filled up. There's no specific measurments or anything like that, just a good pinch of the stuff between the fingers ;)



Hello Bob :) Hmmm the spider, well it seems to have a friend, an even bigger one living behind the ballast box. So to go in there now I keep the door "wide open" and keep a good lookout for movement :o







Update ..................... There harvested, I decided to harvest a week early because the "test sample" was very good, it is actually the most potent I have ever grown. I'm happy with the amount, it will keep me going for ages............. plenty for me :)

Also I've become a little bit pushed for time due to booking a holiday yesterday, I go away for a fortnight in just over three weeks time.
So the plan is ........ I have five feminised Orange Bud seeds germinating at this very moment. I have just over three weeks to get them growing, transplant them and hopefully pinch them before I go. When I get back if there still alive with my lads watering them :rolleyes:, hopefully they should be about ready for inducing flowering ;) .


I'll just post some pics of the harvest to finish off this journal, I'm going to make this my last post for a while and have a little break from the internet.
I'm affraid that because of the recent "upsets", I think I am starting to take things a little too seriously and to heart a bit more than I should :o

The pics are the buds hanging to dry in the drying shed and there are a few resinous leaves and bits spread on trays to dry them out.

Nice buds love, wish I were there. LOL. I'm just about to harvest papaya. I got pic's in hydro section. Keep up the good grows. It's 300 to 400 an oz where I'm at. Not far from a major college. The rich kids eat it up. But they won't see any of mine. LOL

Nice job Mand so what strain was that again? Since it was so potent, are you going to keep growing it.... That really sounds like a nice strain, I wounldnt mind giving it a shot. I started my 12/12 on June 1st. I should have around 9 plants which i a lot for my space but they wont get to tall so I should be OK. I will prob get a hermie only cause of the heat but I'm plucking them out if I see them. Next grow is gonna be in the garage, that would be good cause I could even put an AC if I need it. Mand in the winter how cold does it get in ur grow room with and without lights? Cause I will prob have the same temps
