Invite still stands.... :)
I need to get a fly fishing rod and find a spot to fish. So I can plant... LOL:D:D

So here's a tray of buds. Everyone share please!
All that scorching is from the problems I'm having with my well water during spring snowmelt. The pH of the promix PLUMMETS when exposed to such high concentrations of organic acids over a number of weeks.
Serving up buds on a platter? How considerate of you! My computer monitor isn't allowing me access to them for some reason, but I'll keep trying. :jointsmile:Quote:

Maybe the ones in the background lol
They're going to glass jars and the trim is going to butter for caramels.
The strains included are SourBubble, Toxic Lemon, BlueJay x Bogglegum, and a couple others.
SyKo, if you're gonna be an ass, get off my thread. Seriously. You're trolling... Did you not see the discussion of problems caused by the spring runoff changing my tapwater? Or do you guys not have snow in Canada?
I just tested my well water this week (first time). It was 7, neutral. What kind of PH spread are you experiencing? What have you found in the past? Just curious as I've never given it much thought.

The issue isn't that the well water has a pH problem, which is why I didn't catch it right away. The pH is in the high 6's, no problems there... the issue is the lack of dissolved minerals. I tested it for dissolved lime and came up with almost NONE!!! But while I was doing that test, I found a SHITLOAD of buffering in the range 6.2-6.6, indicating high levels of organic acids. What this means is that the lime in my promix is getting used up WAY faster than it should be considering the pH level is correct, and the plants are showing signs of pH problems in their last 2-3 weeks of flower. So my ProMix is going bad 5-6 weeks after first wetting. Now I am treating my well water like distilled, and adding calmag plus to slow this down.
This is an instruction for that analysis:
Massachusetts Water Watch Partnership pH/ANC Protocols
You need a GOOD sensitive pH meter, a Hach digital titrator, and a Hach sulfuric acid .16N cartrige. Also labware- a source of clean deionized or distilled water, clean beaker, and a magnetic stir plate is a good thing to have too.
as the tune goes, "...I don't know much biology."
I do some work as a process instrument tech, so I went to school (Foxboro Instruments, Foxboro, Ma.) for the hardware (PH meters, etc.) We use them for boiler water testing as well as RO filtering of whey protein production.
Good luck with your organic acids. (??)

I wasn't being an ass?I'm just speaking my mind, if them were my plants i would say the same thing.Sorry but i don't kiss every girls ass on the internet like most morons.Yes i did see the problems you was having i read the whole thread he said they looked nice, obviously kissing your ass.I think you and i both agree they don't look nice correct?
Yes, I agree they look scorched to hell and back but having already noted that, I see no reason for anyone else to continue rubbing salt in the wounds. I think you'd be equally offended if you'd had a problem in YOUR grow and my ONLY post on your log was telling you how shitty your product is, right? And I do not for one minute believe that anyone is kissing my ass because I'm a chick. I have a lively correspondence off the boards with a few members here, enough to call them friends I've never met- and friends get to say nice things to each other!
Lol ok i didnt think one little comment was gonna start anything.Good luck :)
Well since it is your ONLY comment on the log... I suppose I'm disappointed that you chose to note only the BAD and none of the GOOD.
Thanks for the luck, I'm going to need it... that same snowmelt that sent the nearby stream flowing through 3 rooms of my house is now killing my plants. It's about time for me to stop having water problems :(
I need a vacation.
This actually sounds about right for promix. I found I started having ph issues in my promix about 6 weeks or so after the first watering.Quote:

I feel stupid for even saying this because I am 99.9% sure you know this, but with promix as long as you transplant about every 5-6 weeks you most likely won't have any ph issues due to the lime being used up.
edit: I don't know why I assumed you are running promix plain out of the package but did you add any extra lime to your soil mix? I plan on trying to mix in an extra cup of very fine dolomite lime per gallon of promix next grow to try to help ward off ph problems before the plants are ready for transplant.
I'm thinking of doing an all promix grow. Easier to control over-nuting when there's nothing in the soil :). Plus I learned alot about how to deal with peat this grow. As long as you stay on top of it then it doesn't appear to be that big of a deal, but you slip up and problems will come grasping at you out of the wood works.
I guess I am wierd..I wouldn't even go into a noob growers thread and tell him his shit was fucked up...I might mention somethings i think they might need to fix, but if it was an uncontrollable issue, I would ASSume an experienced grower already knows they had issues with some, and don't need to be told...just my opinion...
you got a place to stay here in FL if you ever need it stinks;)

Yeah, I know about the ProMix and that's why I have always avoided it. It's the freakin peat- cheap but twitchy. I expected a full month though, assuming that there was enough hardness in the water to help the buffering. Never assume a thing!

Both these threads have info on ProMix, lime, and repotting!
Aw man! That sucks, Stinky! Shit happens, though. Hope no other problems happen.Quote:

Assumption, the mother of all fuck ups.
To assume is to make an ass of you and me.
the lessons we earn from our own mistakes,
we never forget.
as life goes on, problems get bigger,
because we've learned from all the small ones.
so hey stinky, from all us noobs thanks for all the help with our little problems
i assume you'll be runnin out of problems soon lol
Stinky sorry to hear about all the problems you are having. I must say it would never have occurred to me that my water may have changed. Hope things get better.
Hey stinky just wanted to wish ya luck oh and awesome log
Thanks guys!
This morning I was going through one of the plants on that tray, a RushMan's Toxic Lemon that I put in the stud box with a flowering SourBubble male... the pollination took! Yay! I now have seeds of a cross of two of the frostiest, most colorful, coolest-tasting strains I've ever had the good fortune to grow. That Toxic Lemon finishes about a week too late for me to feel comfy growing it in New England, and the SourBubble is one of the fastest strains around. I'm looking forward to finding an individual that finishes a little quicker to keep as a mother for outdoor growing next year.
Another update:
Since adding calmag to my well water, the pH lockout/deficiency symptoms have completely halted. There's still scarring obviously, but no evidence that the plants are getting worse, and the marginal ones- that showed mild Mg def but no actual necrosis of the leaf margins- are improving.
So with any luck, by the end of the month, all evidence of me making an ass of myself over the stupid well water mistake will be destroyed... up in smoke mwhahahaha!!!
And then... it's time to go play in the water. I bought some big chunks of white plastic with a Botanicare stamp on them... hmmm... wonder what those might be? :D
:jawdropper:alas....i soon shall be alone in the dirt....those are cube shaped i presume?...you, rock, reaper(sniff)..
lol...great to hear you solved your issues in time, ours are better, but definitely hit the yeild....
sounds like an AMAZING cross stinks! makes my mouth water...might give ya like a sweet tart thing going... sourbubble AND TL...damn...

Don't worry, I'm never going strictly to hydro. Well, never say never, but since I keep so many mothers of so many strains, I need to keep the capacity to flower 'retired' ones in soil or soilless somewhere in my room. I've got 2400w of bloom room to fill... to me, that says 4- 2x4 hydro tables and up to 12 soil plants in 3 gallon pots.
Eventually you, too, will go to at least a SOG style grow under your LEDs, which I'll betcha dollars to doughnuts will up your yield. It's only a matter of time ;)
lol!!!!...thats why your the queen...i already decided if staying with LED, i gotta go SOG...lol, so the JHxBB is no more for the LED garden..:(...hmmm, need to look into some good indicas huh....

Toxic lemon and sourbubble man i bet that is ganna be some good stuff just thinking about it makes my mouth water lol haha i would love to try and grow some of that
Well, a big box of Donkey Dicks just rode off into the beautiful sunset of a New England 4/20. They are destined for somewhere outside, which I will never see, but trust they will be well cared for! I haven't got the nuts to want to be sitting on all those excess clones!
Meanwhile, I still grow in my little hidey-hole. And I got some pics of what my plants are looking like now that they have been getting more calcium in their diets...
The frosty single-cola is a PPP
The purple single is a RushMan's Toxic Lemon
The others are the purple/grape/smaller pheno of the Yeag's Kenai Thunderfuck line. If a plant could smell purple, this one does. It simply OOZES purpleness.
The last one just shows scale. It's a single cola plant in a 1 gallon pot about 1-2 weeks to harvest. Pic quality=blech.
You know.....the resemblance to its name IS rather remarkable.......:D
What a beautiful frosty looking bud!! Thanks VERY much for growing that for me Stinkster. Now just send it along pronto. ;)
Ps what kind of final weight are you looking at with a big huge thing like that?
