You're going to need to LST...and I don't know that much about soil but I'm not at all sure a rootbound plant will finish for you......sorry Rock, I just don't know enough in the soil realm.
My question is how much do you want to chance it with a nice plant like that?
CONGRATS on your harvest!! She's a nice smoke isn't she?
LST and larger pots........they have a ways to go. ;)
GENTLY and SLOWLY with the LST ......what gets snapped off now won't grow back ;)
WHAT????????
TELL ME U R KIDDING?
Kidding about what? THIS IS WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO!!!
hound, i cant even think what a nightmare trying to lst these would be.
and it would have to be a shock to transplant????
4 more weeks, 5 tops???
ur killin me,.
u say i stress em too much
u say leave em alone
i finally leave em alone
now they grow
now go mess with em
someone please hit me in the head with a hammer:wtf:
You're just going to bend the tops a little bit....just have to bend them about 6-8 inches over time.
Rock...the roots are GROWING OUT THE BOTTOM of your pot.....:wtf:
Let me get a hammer......:D
They're going to grow up into your light Rock. How much room can you make for them vertically? You need about another foot....do you have that much room?
yes, i can give another foot
i dont even know how i could transplant these.
i'd need 5 gal buckets???
really tho...
how big does this strain get?
how big was that monster XC grew?
How about square pots........do they come in four gallon?
well, i cant see the reason to only go to 4 gal squares.
my main point was stress.
these are not small to begin with, 2-3 gal size,
the plants are BIG
this is easily a 2 person job if we are in synch
5 gal.s would be the next logical size.
i guess after stress, my biggest concern is how long this will add to the cycle.
and
how big will they get then with a 5 gal pot?????????
and what about that big rootmass?
ill have to cut it off, wont that shock the plant?
and, after i cut it off,
can i rinse it out and put it in a hydro setup??????
i think i need some more help from the dirty crew.
where's Stinky and X-C
I'd go for 5 gallon pails. Drill many large (1/2-3/4") holes in the bottom AND SIDES. Let the root ball dry out pretty well before the transplant. This will make it LIGHTER and less likely to break apart under its own weight, as well as just slipping neatly out of the pot.
Transplanting is not stressful if you follow those basic guidelines.
I wouldn't try to switch soil to hydro though- THAt is stressful!
For side lighting, I don't recommend CFLS under the canopy because they are hot and can dry or scorch leaves. But a 2 foot flourescent fixture with a daylight T12 tube in each corner of the box would be just peachy! T12s run very cool and can be in extended contact with leaves with no significant damage.
HA!!! :D Thanks Stinkster! Hee hee..
ok, thanks Stinky.
well, i guess its off to find some 5s.
hey, what i meant with the hydro wasnt a switch, just that root section i have to cut off the bottom of the pot.
what if i were to take only those roots and put em in some hydro?
They won't grow.......
holy shit this project has spawned a life of its own.
I'm really not positive I shoulda transplanted at this stage of flower, but, im gonna trust u girls.
i drilled like mad on bottom and also 2-3 inches up from bottom with a unibit.
here's a buttload of pics
more,,,,
last set
last pic is root section sacrificed that had grown into the drip tray on Maria.

Hound,
Maria is forming colas. pretty ez to see in the pics.
Thats all i meant. the other 2 i did without hesitation.
it has nothing to do with direction or the director. its the fact that these are freakin gargantuan and i am worried they might be stressed.
considering they are doing so well, i want them to finish well too, thats all.
I mean, Maria is in week 6 somethin, isnt she supposed to be finished soon?
thats all, nothing else.
When I think of the TORTURE that poor last plant of yours endured....as it STRUGGLED to get to the end........and it STILL had to come from Stinky before you did it anyway so don't try to butter me up......:wtf:
Anyway...now they should kick into some good gear for the end. Don't be all touching them and shit now........go ignore them again.....but do water them....
God, Weedy- you've created a monster...
Rock- them there are looking pretty nice... How's it feel?
I swear Rhizome I'm going to beat that man with a REALLY big stick!! :wtf:
From YOUR redwood tree, or HIS?Quote:

Stinky, i doubt ill be able to afford the T- lites u mentioned, for a few reasons. we'll just have to hope for the best from the 250HPS.
Rhiz, yeah, makes me happy.
WH, i will let them do their thing.
here are the new sizes,
2 days after the transplanting and a soaking-watering.
Maria 30inch
Oksana 36inch
Petra 43inch
they seem to have kinda slowed on verticle growth.
seems more flower activity.
and they are gettin kinda aromatic;)
and a pic.
this will definately be a personal best.
and, within 1 year of starting this adventure.
You're gonna like the finished product. ;)
ok, vertical growth definately looks to be done.
here's the totals, at tip of flower to soil.
Maria 30 inches (day 40) stopped near a week ago.
Oksana 36 inches (day 32) stopped days ago.
Petra 45 inches (day 32) grew only 2 in since last record, should be done now.
I have checked my charts and am adjusting 'flower' days records to start the day preflowers were seen, not just when i pushed them into the cycle. seems more true records.
Maria's lowest leaves have been yellowin, wiltin, droopin, droppin, and also ez to remove w a lil tug, for the past 5-7 days or so. Oksana and Petra have started doing the same for the past few days.
I may have to move these around a lil to make room for a couple in veg that are gettin a lil too big. maybe this weekend, unless maybe i top the 3 larger veggers hoping to slow em a lil..
i feel like these prolly would benefit from another 4 weeks or so for a total of about 9 wks in flwr.
even tho the canopy doesnt let a lot of lite to the lower branches, they r still developin flowrs, but smaller. i hope that doesnt divert too much energy to affect the results. Maria is definately more dense for development.
its definately obvious which one has an extra week of flwr, Maria's colas r startin to look really cool, they r already fatter than the fattest her cousin Galina had, and she has weeks to go.
gave watering w BigBloom and KoolBloom yesterday, first watering since the flooding after transplant (pretty sure:stoned:). wanted to make sure they dry a lil.
flower power is full-on:hippy:
Maria, front left (on tall box)
Oksana, right (on short box)
Petra, back. (on floor)
3 more pix, nxt post ;)
ok, last pix, :D
10 days later,,,,
i have officially re-named this the JUNGLE room:wtf:
its actually kinda a problem in a way,,,,,
i need to move some veggers in here, but,,,there's no more room:wtf:
left, front.
Maria day 49
left, rear
Oksana day 41
right, rear
Petra day 41
Right front
M3 (Maria clone) day 7 after 5 wks veg and topped when moved to flwr.
Right middle (hard to see)
ASH2 (Adjan's Strawberry Haze) day 7 after 5 wks veg and topped when moved to flwr.
there is absolutely NO room left under the 250 HPS.
this is actually a problem right now:wtf:
I am hoping for Maria to finish in next 2 wks.
i did take a sample yesterday and its not bad, but needs more time.
Wow too much nice ganja....you poor soul. Well feel free to send me some and I'll be happy to take it off your hands. :D
nice plants man i hope mine turn out somethign close to that lol goodluck
sooooooooooooo,,,BIOASSY TIME:D
truth be told, theres been a fair share of samples in the past week, yeah, i know, will slightly decrease yield, but, um, ok, ill accept that side effect:stoned:
trichs been gradually gettin cloudy, still about 1-2 weeks by my estimate, based on the performance of the last Russian. end of month will be exactly day 60, im thinkin around day 65-70 she be goin down,,,in a big way:cool:
she had nutes for the last time last weekend. one more good soaking this weekend, then she'll be forced to do without to help the drying process.
btw- bioassy? oh yeah,,,very heady!!!:pimp:
one other SHOCKING note-
Oksana actually has roots coming out of bottom of 5 GALLLON BUCKET!!!:jawdropper:
um, yeah, i guess i figured out how to grow in soil without screwin up:wtf::cool:
well, sure, stop by and help with the bioassy;)Quote:

btw-i can stick my thumb in that bowl :wtf:
i def took a bunch off this plant, its how i been gettin by:stoned:
im hopin it can finish up this weekend, the other 2 will be done around a week or so later:thumbsup:
there are killer colas on Petra and Oksana.:yippee:
That is going to be so sick. Those plants are going to be so nugglishish.
Well that is why I really liked this grow log. It showed all the little steps into making a killer grow (Granted some advice was given). You did all the work tho'. IMO that is what makes this all the better!
<---Starting a grow soon. Have a great outdoor location.
:)
