THIS is what smoking does to you. Im lucky that i've quit, even if it has made me more angry... But meh, my anger doesnt make any differnce to me, only the people who take it to heart.

1 more day CC, nicotien (and phsycial withdrawl) only lasts 3 days (72 hours) after that, it's all mental/emotional.. it's not an easy road, take it from me.. i know what it is to quit cigs (i've had 2 attempts last a month or more) i still found myself even weeks afterwards, grabbing my pack of cigarettes and lighting something.. and it was all in my head... i'd literally make the motion and then after doing it all, would i realize "i quit a while back, wtf" ... basicly, in short terms i'd grab my pack of cigs and light one, and realize after i didn't get any smoke, that there was nothing in my hands... hope that makes sense, i am kinda drunk... lol.... my grandma still says sometimes she gets strong cravings for cigs... it's been atleast 5 years now... my personal belief on the subject is you never actually quit getting cravings for them... so anyone who quits (or starts for that matter should they ever quit) is you better be ready to turn it down and run from it for the rest of you life...
like i said earlier in the post, it's not a road you wanna go down, no one should ever pick up smoking, becasue when you do (and it will happen) try to quit, you'll be running from that choice you made so many years before.. the only problem is... most don't realize what i'm saying until i'ts too late... you say 'oh i'm not or won't get addicted' but that's bullshit, and you'll learn it one way or another... just do yourself a favor, and take my (and our) word for it... stop while you're ahead, before it's too late... becasue it literally is a life and death decision..
edit: i just realized something... cigarettes are the legal crack... any addicted cigarette smoking person, would do alot of things that someone who isn't addicted would... may not go to the severe lengths some would for crack.. but still.. that level of addiction is there.

Your assessment is wrong... Sopping smoking was with out Doubt "The Hardest Fucking Thing I ever Did In My Entire Fucking Life" and I'll Say this again...
I knew a casual smoker,,,I was married to it,,,so I have proof that the addiction is not real for at least one person... I swear she had packs of Paliments with 19 stale ciggs in the pack... she smoked like this for the 6 years I knew her...
Why is there such a wide spectrum of addiction??? 10 cigs a day to 4½ packs a day like I was??? were does the spectrum stop??? we are all chemically different and chemicals effect us in different ways...

skink, dude, i think you misread my post... i'm not sure what, but i'm sure you did, cuz i'm on your side, i've tried to quit over 20 times so far, and still failed everytime (seems liek your post is saying quitting smoking is the hardest thing ever, which of all my epxeriences, it has been) all i was really getting at, in the post is that some people have greater will power then others, my grandma included... and it's true, she does have ALOT of will power.... she's one of those people, that as soon as her mind is made, IT WILL HAPPEN, doesn't matter what it is... her will power is so strong, that if she decided she wanted to be president, i garuntee within a few years, you'd see her signing bills in the white house.... not sure who you say 'my assesment' is wrong, but please, for my own conscience, tell me what you meant so i have the chance to explain myself further.. there are quite a few people i don't want to 'dissapoint' so to speak, on this board, and you're one of the few....

there is no magic solution when your addicted,it's gonna be tough but well worth the battle...
My Mom was the willpower one too,,,she upped and quit a 20 year Pall Mall habit just like that one day... I understand what you are saying about your Grandmom,,,god bless her and,,, seek her wisdom...

"People who smoke cigarettes say "Man, you don't know how hard it is to quit smoking" Yes I do, it's as hard as it is to start flossing. "You seem jittery" Yeah, I'm about to floss"
-Mitch Hedberg
Honestly, I just think cigarette smoking is a bad habit because of how much money it costs to keep the habit.
My two cents.

OK having No problems with quitting does not constitute addiction in my eyes,,,there had to be some problem some where if it was addiction...

Well, they obviously didnt want to quit for 20 years, that's addiction. Addendum: Just got me one of those big boxes of nicotine gum, wish me luck this time!
