soccer is a lot of fun to watch if the teams are really good but otherwise it gets kind of boring. the game is 90 mins but it seems like the teams only get close to scoring a goal like 3 times a game. but american football is always good to watch because of the strategy and the bone crushing hits. if am. football went by the rules of soccer, the whole team would be red carded in the first play. if you could tackle people in soccer it would be a lot more fun to watch.

Just because we call one sport football, and they call another sport football, doesn't make them the same sport nor does it suggest they are similar.
finally, someone who acctually gets it.. haha
stop comparing TWO completly different sports..

I've never understood why a lot of Americans dislike 'soccer' =/ I hate calling it that and i HATE when Americans say EPL, dear oh dear it makes my spine tingle. I know a decent amount of Americans who do like soccer but i think more people dislike it over there in my opinion. For the people who dislike it that's their choice but i think that they can not either play the game themselves at a decent standard, meaning without getting pooped on. OR they simply can not appreciate the BEAUTY of the game. They don't call it the beautiful game for no good reason. Watching the ball get passed around 1touch, dazzling players, scoring marvellous goals, getting in those crunching tackles, the PASSION! There are plenty of reasons why it's the worlds most popular game.
That being said I love American Football aswell, just not as much as football. Most English people think A.Foot is really complicated and has way too many rules and in honesty can't understand it. I understand it as much as anyone who understands it would. I watch the double header every sunday they show over here. I loved your description of the game threadmaker. It does resemble war, perhaps chess also?

YES. It's about passion. You have to understand the strategy and tactics involved in a game. Fuck, please don't try and say 10 sec. of sprinting downfield following a tv-timeout or a flag on the play is somehow more exciting. Football is a TRUE 11v11 war amigo, lol, so that was funny how you think the same of your beloved football. There's no thick playbook or plays for offense and defense. It's just 11 guys with a ball, whose objective is to head to goal. Like I said, you either get it or you don't. And clearly you don't.
Like I said earlier bucknuts, don't pull shit out your ass. Football is a brutal game my man. Those guys are moving so fast, and without pads no less, so you can expect injuries of all sorts. And saying they don't work out is just another hilarious example revealing your ignorance. They are, physically, in the best shape compared to footballers.
I'm tired of debating with a child you just makes up random things while holding dearly to a sport so commercialized and drawn out it makes me sick. An NFL game takes some 3 hours to wrap up on TV, yet we see 48 min. of REAL action in that time-span. Go figure. I'll take the higher road and just know that I'm not alone knowing Football is the most exciting and passionate game around. 100 million hooligans can't be wrong. But hey, hold the NFL near and dear to your heart. It's kinda cute how stubborn you appear. ~

[quote=JaggedEdge]I love LSU football, and the Saints now that they are having a winning season. I also love the colts because of Manning. I follow most of the SEC, it is the best conference but always pull for LSU over any other SEC team.
Out of three games ...TITANS 2...both Manning's 1.....(this year)....GO VOLS>>>

Yeah..it is kinda dumb to compare the two....but if you say that soccer is a brutal game...LOL! That's actually laugh out loud funny...and why don't they wear pads you say? Its because its a different sport where there is no hitting, so they're little shin guards are enough to save them. Not because they are "tougher" lol...Dumb argument I must say. LOL any NFL player would shred any soccer player to death...so how are they in better shape? Maybe cardiovascularly in better shape, but not physically...no fucking way.
Every NFL game is so unique...the same thing never happens twice, pretty exciting compared to soccer where its running back and forth the whole time every game while you sit waiting for something to happen lol....ya very intriguing. That 10 seconds is more exciting then the whole fuckin soccer match...and to think there are going to be a shitload more plays.
Once the WNFL gets underway...you can say soccer is 'tougher' or whatver than football...but I don't see it anytime soon. But I know there are a hell of a lot of chicks playing soccer, I think that says something. LOL. ;)

There IS hitting though, which is why so many of these attacks are ungrounded. It's not an actual wrap-me-up tackle, but it's a sort of violence. I'm serious, just watch a game on tv one day. Guys go shoulder-to-shoulder, trying to throw the other off the ball, many times using elbows or arms or whatever. And perhaps when the ref isn't looking, you may dig your cleat into the other guy's toe, or stick a thumb in someone's ass, just to let him know your there. Lol, this is only shit that's been done to me, and I'm only an American playing at a sub-par college level. Pay attention to the challenges in the air. Fuck, those are downright MEAN. I had my eyelid torn open a few years ago because some nut tried kicking the ball, missed, and hit me. Why would anyone want to watch one play, have it fizzle out completely, then listen to John Madden babble for 1-2 min. while they set up the next play. PLEASE. Soccer, exciting or not, is non-stop action. For that reason alone, one MUST have a lung capacity that can break records. And endurance is a large part of what an athlete must have. Being able to bench 700lbs does little for your body, also. You're better off doing pushups. Bench is a very unnecessary lift, just so you know.
And LoL, you saying more chicks playing soccer says something IS true. It says you might be a sexist pig with a narrow mind?? :D

LOL...haha yea I knew that one wasn't going to go over well..but I was just trying to prove a point, but I admit I took the wrong approach, even though I thought it was funny so I wrote it anyway...
Anyway...ya your right about some shit I guess...I'm just more shocked that someone from USA is trying to put down football and praise soccer? LOL...don't you see where I'm coming from. I'm sitting here like "Is this dude serious lol". Soccer is loved by every other country...well...I could really give a fuck less ya know..who cares? I live in USA where the soccer is a joke, so how do you expect me (or bucknuts) to react when you say that, especially since your from here too lol. But, considering you actually PLAY soccer, that's totally different..obviously your going to stick up for it...well I didn't know that..now I do. Still no reason to down the NFL...you really don't watch football like 98% of this country? Hey if you don't thats cool I guess...your choice. I love football, but I love basketball (the playing aspect) more-so which is more similar to soccer, so I know what ya mean about up-tempo...Cheers!

Oh don't get me wrong, I watch the NFL from time to time, but I guess since I never played, my attention is quickly drawn away. I do love seeing an exciting play just like anyone else, though. Like when a runningback breaks free and then it's a scramble to the goal line. That shit is exciting, not denying that. I guess you'd call me a casual fan, of da Bears for a while now, but nothing more.
