Yes there were attacks prior. 300+ Marines in one attack alone. But those attacks weren't at the frequency they are today. If you saw foreign troops in your homeland, not leaving. Would you not also stand up then to rid them from the US? Why do we have bases everywhere, yet no one has one here?
