the best way to go is to get a good Zippo that u like and u can just keep refilling it:thumbsup:
i stick with my zippo for one simple reason.
It has a great graphic on it with " Cannablis : the thinking mans tobbaco " on
This is simply my thought on the whole ordeal; I think the differences between the torch and Bics are that the Bics use less fuel, so the taste isn't as bad, whereas with the torchers, you're getting a full flow of the fuel and a larger flame, so more fuel is going into your fire.
I don't know shit about lighters, other than mine are always Bics for some reason because of the funky designs on some of 'em.
Bic lighters.
Don't use Zippos, they're crap for hitting bowls with.
some insightful posts here.
personally i dont like butane so i use a bic
just kidding LOL :D :D
anyway Bics are superior to any disposable lighter i have used. i am pretty intrigued by this cricket thing. ive heard the name but i cant remember seeing a cricket lighter for sale anywhere recently.
the clear ones are huge peices of shit for many reasons. the "adjustable flame" gets bigger every time you use it. i suspect it has to do with the hole where the gas comes out getting "eroded" away after multiple uses. the flame on those bastards always gets too damn big. also there are far too many plastic parts near the flame. these parts melt when the lighter is lit for more than 20 seconds (heating bowls for resin hits etc) and critical parts start coming off. like the flint roller.
bics are mostly metal parts at the top so this melting thing never happens. but that metal tip can get hot as fuck obviously.
whoever said that thing about using the metal tip as a mirror to check the cherry is brilliant... im going to use that.
also how many of you have seen adjustable flame Bics? i saw one a few weeks ago i couldnt beleive it! i havent seen one for sale anywhere...
and i wish that bic sold more electric lighters in the states. in europe electric bics are everywhere.
anyway is there a thread on lighting techniques? i try to hold the bic flame above the weed and use the method martinez was talking about. but i dont know if this is really the best way...
Just hold the flame slightly above the marijuana, that way when you pull, the flame sits nicely on top of the weed, cooking it delightfully.
I have seen the adjustable Bics! They have them at a music shop near my house, with awesome designs- Pink Floyd, Doors, fractals, spirals, anything! I like 'em okay, but I prefer the regular Bics.
I find BIC's to be the ideal pot smoking lighter, but I've used everything from magnifying glasses to space heaters to get my bud fired up. I have a horrible habit of unconciously pocketing any BIC lighter that comes into my hands. I'll leave home with one and come home with 3.
I use BIC's. I used to use dollar store lighters but I recently purchased a few BIC's and they are good :).
