no offense to you sweet dreams... but first it's blow, rage against the machine, u posted something else on some other thread... it seems like all of your thoughts and views are a manifestation of things that influence u. i challenge u to go out and build some of these views empirically instead of seeing them in a movie or hearing them in a song
You're an ass and deserve to die. People who fight in Iraq believe strongly in protecting our country. While I don't myself believe in war, I respect their views and damn it, if they are willing to risk their lives to save ours, I am thankful that they can be selfless to contribute to what they believe is a better world. To call them stupid is more than insult; many of them are well educated and just doing what they believe is the right thing. Misguided notions do not correspond to intelligence.Quote:

No-one in Iraq is protecting anyone here's freedom that i can assure you.
There was no danger from Iraq, not saying they shouldn't have toppled saddam but the sad fact is its a war of attrition now and if your not fighting at home you will lose. The insurgents will win in the end they have the numbers and the iron will of a radical compare that to a squaddie who is being paid £250 a week to fight and whom do you think cares more about victory?
I'm not saying it is right that we are even in Iraq, but that is not he soldiers' fault. They were told Iraq was a threat, they volunteered their lives to stop a threat. Who are we to blame? It is surely not the soldiers. It's kind of like a parallel to Vietnam, where people wrongfully placed the shame on the soldiers and shot at them as they returned from war. Soldiers don't deserve all the shit they get from the American public. So many citizens are ungrateful for their sacrifices.Quote:

What is the pledge? (UK resident, I don't have no pledge....)
Really, do any of your guys think that by not standing for your pledge your making a fucking difference? Your complain about your government and the way it treats you, but your masterplan to bring it down by sitting on your arse is unfortunately somewhat flawed. How about you actually go out, campaign and do something about it. The apathetic self pitying attitude of stoners is weak, and gives the rest of us a bad name.
As for standing out of respect, why the fuck not? You complain that your freedoms are being eroded, yet you wont stand out of respect for the millions who have died fighting to protect these same freedoms. Sure, they may not really have known what they were getting themselves into, but they did more with their short lives than you
Yeh, but on the other hand, you can't believe NOT standing up to recite some words, causes this much hassle. The teacher was so disturbed by his action not to stand, that she thought it wise to chat bollox with the kid for an 1hr and a 1/2, because he didn't stand for a recital of words, for which most have agreed isn't really that important jus respectful, so if it's no big deal if you stand up, why would you all turn and point the finger at some1 sitting? So you're honestly paying ure debt to those that died, or even paying respect to those around you, by saying a time old expression? and you respect em sooooo much, ure gonna stand for em!
All I'm saying is, it's kind of wierd, how that is deemed as something respectful to do, compared to the debt you owe.
