How did you tell your parents you smoke/how did they find out and how did they react?
You know, for the ones who parents know but just ask that you don't smoke in the house, I find you people take it for granted. If my parents were cool with me doing weed but as long as I didn't do it in the house I'd be fine with it. It don't take much time to put on a coat if its cold and go to the side of the house or something. I think you guys are being just plain lazy.

Drugs.Are.Realy.Expensive = DARE
Maybe I could finish my essay on marijuana (started in early October, rough draft is on this site somewhere), and then you could print it out, then give it to your dad, and then you say "You tell me what the fuck is wrong with weed"
Or
You could straight up learn everything there is to know about weed that is -TRUE-, and then somehow instigate a debate over weed in a casual conversation. See what he does when you destroy everything he thinks he knows about weed.
If, in that conversation, your dad cites some stupid fucking statisitic like "X hospital trips are related to mary-jee-wahna, then you remind him that it is unlikely that the hospital visit and the weed are even close to related, and that that statistic is bullshit and is used as a scare tactic.

My parents don't know yet (although they possibly suspect something...who knows, really). But when I have kids, I couldn't be a hypocrite and not let them smoke. My rules woud be simple.
1. Be 16, cause that's when I started
2. Have a 4.0, because that's what I have in school
3. Don't drive
4. They can smoke in the house, but they only can bring friends whose parents are okay with them smoking...I don't want any lawsuits on my hands.
5. They must give me a hit whenever I so demand.
6. No smoking on school nights
Yeah but that's pretty much it

why would you put conditions on smoking? i mean, maintaining a 4.0 gpa is a pretty big expectation. thats kinda lame.

Perhaps, but it's most definitely possible to get those grades and still smoke, and I'd want my kids to have the best future they can. There's nothing that can stop a well-educated pothead...I mean if you're really smart and you smoke pot, you can shatter people's illusions about potheads being stupid.

Amen to that, Irken. I'm quite sure my parents know I blaze, and here's how:
--I've come home with my friends and me smelling like weed multiple times.
--One night I was blazing in my bathroom, finished the bowl, turned off the lights, and turned on the fan. I wake up in the morning, my mom's on the treadmill in the living room (just outside the bathroom), the lights are on and the fan is off-- and there's a dime of dank sitting on the counter.
--One time I get home from school and my dad comes up to me and says, "Hey, I was just reading this book, and someone asks the main character, 'Have you ever done drugs?' And the main character responds, 'Only marijuana, but that doesn't count for a guitarist.' Pretty funny, isn't it? Don't you think that's funny?" (I play guitar, by the way).
I say, "Sure, Dad," and go about my business.
Also, my parents were huge stoners back in the day-- they went to Cornell, U of M, and UC Berkeley for grad-- and know the signs.
So, here's my plan. Once I get into college (hopefully Stanford, maybe Cornell, but most likely U of M or UC Santa Barbara), I'll just go up to them and say, "Look, guys, i have a 3.97 GPA in advanced courses, and I have guaranteed admission to a great college. I guess you should know that I've been smoking on a regular basis since the middle of 10th grade. Wanna blaze?"
To which they'll most likely respond, "We knew all along that you blazed, congrats on college; I'll go fetch my RooR!"
(I figure they probably still smoke and, knowing my parents, they wouldn't settle for less than a RooR.)

Aw man, Stanford sucks. Berkeley is much better for smoking in college. My dream schools are Princeton, Dartmouth, and Berkeley right now...
But I feel the exact same way. Except my parents will react like this, upon my admission to Princeton and subsequent outing as a stoner: "you spent our money on weed?? there's no way we're paying for a $45k college now...enjoy a state school!"

Stanford's a better school academically, though-- and it's still good for blazing in college.

my parents are the people who hand out fliers at schools explaing how dope leads to insanity, orgies, spontaneous combustion, etc. etc. so yea, if I got caught, my parents would freak.
