My peppers are also getting "black" stems, I used the quotes because let's call it purple, dark purple. Perhaps a P deficiency like purple weed stems? I googled peppers PH as I just assumed treating them the same as weed was OK. Long story short (too late) Peppers PH should be quite acid acidic, down like 6.0 - 6.5. I'm going to bring it down but they otherwise look good. :greenthumb:
That T5 is awesome, very efficient too as my T 12's use a bit more and make a bit less than half the light.... But since I have two rooms I'm bottle necked with flower time anyway. At least that's what I tell myself. ;)

Looking at the leaves, they definitely appear to be a sativa/indica cross. They're neither short and fat, nor long and skinny. It will probably become more apparent as the plants get bigger.

Another thing I noticed is that all three plants have a slightly different smell. In all cases it's a bit piney, but one smells more skunklike, and another is more... weed-like smelling.

well...Nirvana WW is a hybrid 60/40. I've been growing Nirvana WW's since '05...and you do get variations....but, I still like them...crippling high @ 5% amber...

Dutch Pimp that's awesome. I'm going to have to check out some of your grow logs. If you don't mind, could you scroll back a few posts and see what you think the discoloration and light brown spots are from? I'd love to hear the take from someone with several years growing experience.

I looked at all pics. I didn't see anything worth worrying about. WW is a light feeder; don't try and supercharge the seedlings.
Actually, I have never seen more compact WW seedlings......just watch the new growth. A few minor spots or discoloring lower down, is normal. Don't sweat the small stuff.

It's only 3 weeks and those honies are already spilling over those 1 gallon pots! :yippee: You are WAY ahead of schedule and going strong. :weedpoke: Everything always looks so clean too. :eat: Great job. :greenthumb:

Well it's Sunday, and you know what that means. Picture day!
Dutch Pimp, again, thanks for the info. I'll definitely try to worry less. No promises. ...and tightest you've ever seen? That makes me so :D.
t3hn00b137, ya know, I don't know if I've even mentioned it through this whole log... but the seeds I bought from Nirvana are feminized. My bad guys! Sometimes I space out on the biggest details and include the most minor points. Wonder how bad I'll be when I'm high! (only been high once)
Ocotillo, they still seem to be growin great, so I just let em be. Btw, I love that crazy running icon. I try to keep things as clean as possible, but with all the air the fans suck in, it keeps getting dusty.
A couple notes for today:
1. Watered all three until I saw a little bit of run-off with 6.5 pH water + 1 teaspoon of epsom salt added to the gallon of water. I figured the extra calcium/magnesium couldn't hurt. Currently, 1 gallon of water is enough to water all three and still have 1/8 of the gallon left for the cayenne pepper.
2. I installed some velcro I got from Lowes around the inside of the room. I bought some panda film (thick black and white plastic) from the hydro store. I need to stop going there because I keep spending money.
My plan is to get rid of the light leak around the outside of the sliding mirrored door and gain more control over the environment inside. Before I attach the panda film, I want to create a couple zippered doorways in it. Hopefully this will also block a lot of the sound from the ceiling fan as well.
Questions for today:
1. When do you guys think I should go into 3 gallon pots? The plants are short and bushy, so I'm not sure the 1 foot/1 gallon rule applies. I may have to transplant at 9-10 inches.
2. When should I go into flower? Another week? Longer? What is a good measurement tool?
3. Should I start the scrog before flowering or after?
4. Are 3000k bulbs ok for flowering, or should I strive for 2700k? At Lowes they have 3500k T5 bulbs, however I'm pretty sure these would be too white, and not enough red. The 3000k bulbs are $10 each at the hydro store... so that's $40 if I turn 4 of my 6 red (the original plan).
I think that's it for now, so I'll stop rambling and show off the girls. :)

They look good that is for sure.
1. I would say let the soil dry out and transplant now.
2. The ideal time to flower is when they are sexually mature. The nodes will normally look like a Y right? Wait until those Y branches begin growing individually and staggered(sorry, I am really blazed and don't know if this makes sense).
The only reason I would flower any sooner is just to get product out the door.
I don't know anything about your light system so I won't even start in on that.
Answer something for me. How is it that you have only smoked once and you decided to grow. That seems very extreme to me. lol
Anyway, keep up the work man. They look great!
