Aquaponics-Success Story
I finally find a thread to a topic I've been scouring the internet for and most of the posts are over two years old...even joined grasscity to see if aquaponicherb had moved there, nope. I really want to find out how he added the 'biobloom' directly to the roots with out messing with his fish...driving me nuts lol :wtf:
Anyway, sure hope this topic comes back. AquaponicHerb, are you still around?

The tanks are exposed to the light. I am curious how you handled pH and algae. I tried it and the PH swung like a pendulum and algae went wild.

Didn't want to jack your thread. However with so few aquaponic cannabis grows I felt it made sense to post this one with yours. With that being said here are the grows;
This was all sent to me from a friend of mine. He is a medical growers in a legal state. This was his first and second attempt at aquaponics. His first grow was Confedintial Cheese, Fast Nevilles and Venom OG. The second grow is Blueberry, Chemdog, Jack the ripper, Cannalope Haze, Cheese, Fruity Chronic Juice, MK Ultra, Sour AK, OG Kush and Blueberry Gum.
The setup consist of a larger play pool holding around 100 gallons. A shelf of sorts was built that sits just above the play large pool holding two much smaller pools. These two pools operate a flood drain system from a loop syfine. At either end of the 10' x 4' shelf that the two play pools sit on are two 16" wall mount isolating fans. Next to one of them is a water cooled Co2 generator. The reservoir for the Co2 generator is a 40 gallon rubber made trash can that is feeding a self leveler for the large 100 gallon play pool. A light rail sits above everything moving a 1000 watt HPS across a 7' section. Just below the light hangs a 4' x 8' SCROG. In the center of the table off to the side sits a 13k BTU AC unit that keeps everything at about 81 degrees. There are two 6" holes in the ceiling one intake that is drawn in from another room, the other exhausted into the attic. There is one 6" inline fan that "pushes" air through a "Y" then into the inlet of the AC unit. The other section of the "Y" feeds the air cooled hood for the 1000 watt HPS light. The exhaust on the AC unit then meets up with the exhaust from the hood and are exhausted into the attic. There is a 8" x 42" carbon filter ran off a 6" inline fan. There is also a 4 x 4 tent that is split 2/3 veg 1/3 clone/mother veg.
The cycle is such; One week after plants are put into flower, clones are taken from mothers. Two weeks later they're put into veg for the next 5-6 weeks or until flowering is done where the will directly go into flowering and the cycle will begin again.
Enjoy. If anyone has any questions I will do my best to get them answered.
Thanks,
THE BOSS
