Do a little reading yourself. You might learn a thing or two about socialism.
McClatchy Washington Bureau | 10/21/2008 | You may not like Obama's tax plan, but it's not socialism
(Hey- You guys have FOX, I have McClatchy. ;))
People are too emotional and perhaps in state of shock (out of the three phases of shock, denial, and acceptance) that capitalism or the system that has been in this country so far, may have its own shortcomings and that it's not a sacred god-made theory.
They do everything in this stage to defend their opinion, until the bigger force of reality takes over in time and the come to accept in the final phase.
having extreme negative bias on words like "muslim" or "socialist" just cuz they are something we are told that its bad or have been used in a way that was actually bad, are only going to work against the holder of the bias.
For everyone's information, we have had socialist programs in excess of half a century, one that many of our disabled or elderly would have suffered without in a much greater measure is called SOCIAL Security
and as a side note, Muslims have been in this world since like 1400 years ago, they have had their very own dominance of the world in their time and some of the earlier breakthroughs in science while Europe was in dark ages. and like it or not, u got 2+ million Muslim Americans, as equal to u as this much hated black man.
I find most of the arguments made against obama simply a cover for the real hate and prejudice beneath. whether its hate for a democrat, a liberal, a black, a muslim or whatever other label people may want to stick on him.
u know, there are a bunch of countries out there who have much more reliable and useful systems that we call "socialist" like many health or tax programs in certain European countries.
sadly, this is in part the result of not so diverse political atmosphere of America. We have had 2 major parties that have had the power to make their voices heard, most of us have no clue what a coalition government is, and we tend to see ourselves and what we do as the best in the world, failing to notice this world has 7 billion people in it and we are hardly a fraction of it. yeah, the last 60 years after WW II may have been super duper for us in many ways, but if u thing in terms of sustainability, pure capitalism without provisions and regulations and side programs that may or may not be socialist is not going to survive for too long.
again, quit thinking about the situation emotionally, that capitalism is against communism or its part of american patriotism, the world and reality are much bigger than this limited point of view that comes to defense of current and past situation & system and keeps attacking obama for being a socialist.
First of all prove with hard evidence and irrefutable proof that Obama is a socialist
here is a good explanation before you even jump on the bus, just read it and u will understand this word is not very well defined and is a very broadly used phrase
from: Socialism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaQuote:
Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital, and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.
Socialism is not a discrete philosophy of fixed doctrine and program; its branches advocate a degree of social interventionism and economic rationalization, sometimes opposing each other. Another dividing feature of the socialist movement is the split on how a socialist economy should be established between the reformists and the revolutionaries. Some socialists advocate complete nationalization of the means of production, distribution, and exchange; while others advocate state control of capital within the framework of a market economy. Social democrats propose selective nationalization of key national industries in mixed economies combined with tax-funded welfare programs; Libertarian socialism (which includes Socialist Anarchism and Libertarian Marxism) rejects state control and ownership of the economy altogether and advocates direct collective ownership of the means of production via co-operative workers' councils and workplace democracy.
and 2nd, what if he is a socialist, that doesnt mean anything to me. not all socialist are communist, and not all socialists think about everything in the same manner.
FYI there is such a thing called Social Capitalism just do a google search and u will be enlightened by some new information that u may not posses already.
I for one like whats posted here and the response to it

It was just reported today that the RNC has paid over $150,000 for clothes and fashion accessories for Governor Palin since she got the nomination! Holy crap! She spent $!50,000 on clothes in less than 2 months! If she had spent it on $30 Obama-Biden T-shirts she could have 5000 of them! Or she could have stopped at 500 and saved her party $135,000!
Hey, Republican donors, it's time to send in some more cash! Baby needs a new pair of shoes!
thats not her fault nor RNCsQuote:

don't kid yourself, the only people who won't see a tax increase is
people like me who live on the public dole. i suppose i should say thanks.
don't vote for McCain, vote against socialism
Do you REALLY want to discuss what they're spending on the campaign trail? Do you REALLY want to compare what the DNC has spent on Obama and his campaign?Quote:
