Pics don't do em justice..The big green bitch is supposed to be Jack herer and forgot the purples name....However it has little purple bulbs all over it..almost looks like purple seeds at first glance..smoke is amazing..smell, taste, etc. Same for Jack..!!!

1) I forgot to F***ing soak my hydroton before hand and my ph has been a real bitch to control since i switched to bigger buckets..How long will this last? Should i change?

2)LIghts? I need more lights..i have 4 26 Watt CFLs.. 5500K What should i add if i put two more bulbs in there?

3)some of hte roots are turning brown..Are they dying?

I'm not exactly qualified to answer that question since I don't use rockwool. My understanding is that it can continue fluctuating throughout the grow. Remember rockwool sucks? And that's not the only reason it sucks. I am making the automatic PH doser listed in the grow faqs. If I was in your situation I would definitely consider doing that too. You can have rockwool and not have to worry about PH at the same time.

Of course the more the better up to a certain point. That point is a long way off in your circumstance. 5500K is perfect for veg. Where did you get them? All I kind find in stores around here is 5800, and that's if they even have anything other than 2700K. As usual I recommend HID lighting, but that takes a lot of venting. If you're sticking with CFL I would get about 4 more, or some bigger ones. Also it's best if you could have about 15% red spectrum while vegging, and the opposite during budding.

Pictures? It could be root rot, but probably not, it's more likely discoloration from the nutrients.

I'll try and get some pics up soon of hte roots..or the lack there of..as far as lights..what about like the 300 watt lights you can get anywhere..i think they are clear bulbs..is that bad for flowering?

Well I am wondering how soon I will be able to tell the sex. I bought the beans Femenized as advertised from growshopalien. I hope its a girl. I will be optomistic. This particular strain is a Jack Herer. The bud Growme posted although blury looks pretty tasty. The plant just fanned out it first set of 9s. How soon do you think until I can tell sex and when would you suggest 12/12?

It depends a bunch on your goals. Some people skip vegging completely and go right to 12/12. You get less weed per plant that way, but you get to harvest more often/sooner. If you want to tell the sex before the normal time to change lights, search presex or presexing.

Yeah I am familiar with putting them into 12/12 for a couple weeks to get gender then going back to 18/16, it sets you back a little but if not in a hurry then why not. I dont wanna do that. It will show sex eventually. I was just wondering if there was a correlation between the leaf sets to showing sex. For example, is there a trend where say the next 1 or 2 nodes after the first set of 9, is when sex will show during the veg cycle. Thats just an example of what I am asking.

I have a few questions for someone..

As far as lighting goes, i have a small space and venting is an issue..can't do anything that involves ballasts or anything of that nature..I noticed at Home depot they have 75 watt High Pressure Sodium bulbs that appear to screw into a regular size socket..Does it still require a ballast for the smaller HPS bulbs?

What about using this?

z-100 Watt Compact Fluorescent 2700K Warm White - Mogul Base CFL

If i buy this how much more will i need? Basically i'm trying to make the most of hte area i have and funds to spend.. I need to know what hte least amount of watts i can use for a 3.5' x 2.5' x 6' area... 4 plants..

Also are any of these PPM meters decent?

I have seen those HPS at the depot. The one I saw was higher watts and said on the label it required a special ballast. You might read the label and see, if it doesnt say anything then just ask they are pretty helpful there.

Too bad you cant crank a 400 + HID :(

I use the Milwaukie SM802 Smart Combined Meter. It rocks!

How is that Herer bud?

Godbud i wish could too..Hopefully next time will be 1000 HID..For now gotta do the best i can with what i got..what about halogens? i've heard they aren't ideal, is that correct..I found these at 150 watt and 2700 kelvin..Whats the absolute best you can get? 2500k, 2700k, 3000k, 3500k? ??? ???
