I have listened to A LOT of Lil Wayne, to see if people here are right about him having skill. Too bad that's wrong - he lacks skill to a high degree. That one dude posted links to some videos, "Lil Wayne vs. Alive Rappers." Come on now, ROFL! After watching those, how can you still think he's good? It shows just how petty his flow and lyrics/rhymes are. How can someone who can pretty much only rhyme with at most four and five letter words about bitches, money, and cars, be the best rapper alive? In most of his shit, his flow is pathetic. I've heard like one song of his where his flow was okay at best... and I'm sure he got lucky, or just wrote over-simplified lyrics to make them easier to say (er... i mean rap, since Lil Wayne is the best rapper alive :S2:).

By the way, I love rap. So no, I don't sound like a redneck at a Slayer/Metallica concert, claiming no band will ever stack up to them. And nor is what I say equivalent to what you're grand dad says. That's implying that hip hop/rap has evolved... which it hasn't. I fail to understand how anybody can call him the best rapper. Probably because Weezy says it himself. It's a big statement, and Lil Wayne certaintly does not hold up to it by any means whatsoever. He's probably convinced he is the best rapper alive, too. He's a joke :S2:. I feel sorry for people who like him a lot, and talk down on real skillful rap in defense of him.

If he's someone's favorite rapper, which is true for a lot of people, then that's different; however, that's just opinion, and everyone is obviously entitled to that. But when you go and repeat what he said, that he is the best rapper alive, you're really pushin' the line wayyyy too far. People saying he's skillful is pushing the line quite a bit already.

HOWEVER, I would listen to Lil Wayne over Soulja Boy or some insanely retarded shit like that.

I think that's the point most people are trying to make with you... He may not be the greatest rapper ever, or the greatest rapper out now, but he's much better that these losers that call themselves rappers like soulja boy who dont even rap and are bringing the mainstream rap industry down. I don't care if people like him. My point is that it's ridiculous to say that he is the best rapper - and a lot of people think that. Everybody has their likes and dislikes. But like I said, I think it's ridiculous to say he's the best rapper alive, when he's clearly not even close. And yes, I know that there are people like Soulja Boy who are even worse than Lil Wayne.

Well good, I'm glad. I am simply trying to point out that Lil Wayne is not the best rapper alive... but people still insist that he is. I love Wu Tang. And yeah, Method Man is great... but of course he is, he's Wu-Tang ;).
