I do maybe 2 or 3 of these a day (is that alot?) and I get a really good buzz but the only downside is the cough, I will somtimes spend 15 or 20 min with a "bothersome" but not hacking type of cough. I make a 1/4 last me 4 to 5 weeks without a problem and I definatly feel better since I no longer "smoke" at all.
Bottom line,,,, throw the Bic lighter away and go directly to the closest Volcano dealer and forget about the imatations, it is the most amazing way to enjoy weed and it is no more harmful then sticking your head over a cool mist humidifier and breathing in!
I would get one again in a second.
I get the same cough problem sometimes, but I think it is actually helping me get the shit out of my lungs, it doesn't feel like coughing before. I have noticed other people with the same type of cough after vaping with my "cano.
It could also be due to higher temps?? higher than like six on my 'cano makes me cough.

from what i understand the thc in the vapor is still an aggravator of your mucus glands, and thats why you cough even thought youre vaping... however its just thc and not thc + smoke so its still _gotta_ be better for your lungs.

i get the same problem too sometimes but i found that turning down the temp a bit or doing smaller bags helps with the coughing an makes it smoother
its not as irritating as a smoking cough but can get annoying sometimes

I just want to point this out for anyone considering a volcano.
Everyone who is carrying on about it doesn't seem to even mention any others. I seriously doubt that many have used the volcano, vapor one, vapor bros, herbalaire etc and have much of a point of comparison.
Yes, they are nice, yes they are robust but in responce to the bmw comparison, you've never raced a BMW. They are not the be-all, end-all.
I'm all for the proliferation of the vaporizer but I think the volcano is more of that "it's really expensive so it MUST be better" marketing strategy.

i currently own a classic with the regular valve. bought it from my sister boyfriend for 300 bucks. never looked back after that. best vaporization possible. tried those cheap ones in head shops from the super vapezilla to the vape pipes. everything has its pros and cons. plain and simple the volcano crushes all. it takes maybe 2 minutes to heat up but your busy preping till then. depending on how much herb is used determines how many bags you get. bags come in 9 foot sections so you can make them as big as needed. and you can watch around with the concentrated cloud of goodness. how convenient bags last forever. i only replace them when i find a pin hole in the bag but that is only caused by continuious folding or want the freshest taste possible. i take the accessories apart once month for a cleaning so nothing gets to sticky. i had the super vapezilla on back order forever glad i cancelled. unlike the vapezilla you can not taste any of the components that the volcano uses while its heated and in use. no plastic taste or rubber taste. thats my experience hope it helps!

The 'cano is a great vape, but in what respect does it 'crush all'? Vaporization is a simple process and many vapes can do the job equally well. I've owned a dozen different models, from the VaporGenie to the herbalAire and SSV. I've used the 'cano but haven't bought one. I don't see the need. I've compared one directly to the herbalAire, and if anything, the herbalAire is more efficient. And I'm not the only one with that opinion.

Since the SV costs more than the 'cano Classic I don't know why you'd use "cheap" and "super vapezilla" in the same sentence. Aside from the Vapir products and their plastic shells, where you need to do a 'burn in' to get rid of the plastic taste/smell, I've found that most vape owners, myself included, have no issue with "plastic taste or rubber taste". The Vapolution, using the 8" glass AIW bowl, has an all glass vapor path. Air goes into the glass heating chamber, gets heated (from outside the chamber), travels out through the AIW bowl (no screen), and into your mouth. What could be cleaner than that? And yet I can tell no difference in taste between that unit, which I've owned for 2 yrs, and my SSV (despite the tubing) or herbalAire.
And as nice as the Volcano is, it can't compete with a good whip vape for rich vapor, as in higher vapor to air ratio. I find a bag unit very easy to use, but boring compared to the whip experience.

oh man, another one of these debates
There is no end-all vaporizer. Its all a matter of personal preference and situation. Maybe some of the members on this board are younger or dont/cant afford to dropp $550 on a volcano, that is understandable.
The volcano does not do anything signifigantly better than other vaporizers, it simply what its meant to do. SO why does a volcano cost so much? Have you ever seen one in person? It is a well-designed and not-so-cheaply manufactured product. When you see/hold it in person, it feels like a $500+ machine, not just a junky headshop device. You are paying for engineering and materials.
That doesnt mean that other product does the same thing. Look at the Vapir One for example. It does not have an amazing design or as high-end materials used, but it still does the same thing that the volcano does, but all for a price of 150.
SO it comes down to which piece suits your personal needs more. Maybe you find it beneficial to save ~$400 and get the vapir and put the rest of your money to other things. If you can afford the vcolcano, then go ahead, you will not be dissapointed.
This is one one of those instances where you get what you pay for, and in this case it mostly pertains to the quality of materials used, not so much the method in which it is obtained.
