:(:(I guess i should add my part in this thread, but i will have to tell you its going to be painful for me. so if i get into detail its only because im still hurt over this. sorry guys
My mother little sister, mothers friend, and a dog where driving cross country we were moving to missouri for awhile. I wasnt able to join them due to the fact i was still in school i would of jsut flyed out. I was 15. My father came into my room to tell me something inportant his eyes were red so i thought he was mad at me and instantly was like wtf did i do now dad? he says theirs been an accident. My sister in the hospital along with the driver. so i said okay what about mom? he then started to shake his head telling me she didnt make it. I instantly said dont fuck around dad thats not cool, tell me the truth. He then reached out and hugged me. i feel to the floor in shock and had an instant anxiety attack. I started to scream because i had no idea what to do. Right before this happen my mother and i where never friends, but for some reason we started to click and she left with us on good terms. But anyways i ran out the door and into the forest. I ended up flying to Kansas witchata. it was even in the news. My little sister was throw 80 feet from the car. My mother,.. well they said she died on impact from server head trauma and suggested cremation on the account they could not fix her. The drivers faced smashed into the windshield breaking every bone in her face. i still see her to this day, and everyday she is drunk and crying. or drunk and mad at herself. It will be 4 years in January's. this is the first time i have ever told anyone this and it feels so good to let it out.. maybe this has just helped me.. thank you.. iv come along way about accepting this but every now and then i just miss her....i also was the one to tell my little sister about our mother, the nurse offered but i told her, it might be better if she heard it from me..
i always wear a seat belt, and i have no fear of driving in cars. my city has actually been giving out lots of tickets for no seat belts lately so everyone is wearing them now.

Buckle up. Please. If you don't do it for you, do it so some tender-hearted medic doesn't have to come scrape you up out of your car or off the pavement and live with that memory for the rest of his/her life.
i am getting myself into this scene soon(emt though). Wish me lluck

BlazinIt, hun, I'm so sorry for your loss. Your post broke my heart. I'm so sorry about the loss of your mom, but I'm glad y'all had begun to be on good terms before she left. The thing about us moms is that, even when there's friction, we know you love us. We certainly love our kids no matter what!
Good luck with the EMT work. Those car accidents will be very hard to handle, especially having had one touch your own life so closely. You'll never again look at people without seatbelts, people who choose to drive drunk, or people who don't restrain their children in child safety seats the same way.

this message has to be drilled into are heads over and over again, dont give the man a reason to pull you over, live free under the law, by living by it.
