"god does not exist because ____ happened"
udk what he HAS stopped from happening so...
The Universe is as God made it, but it now runs under the laws of nature He ascribed, without constant interference.
What God seeks to change now is us, and how we react to the trials we all face in the existence He has given us. How do we help our fellow man when hard times come? Do we live out the beliefs we say we hold?
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
Are we willing to give all in the defense of our beliefs and loved ones?
"If man hasn't discovered something that he will die for, he isn't fit to live.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
Now, can God change things if He wants too? Of course, or else He is not God. But without experiencing pain/loss/suffering how can we fully understand and appreciate love/happiness/mercy?
in nature there has never been an instance of something happeneing from nothing, something always causes something else, so in that snese i guess it had to be god that was the catalyst for existence
Society on the whole is completely fucked soley because of the absence of God. As the number of people that discover the truth rise, the people living in ignorance will decline. The power of the truth will suffocate and eventually destroy everyone living in falsity..of course you dont believe me, so we'll just have to wait 20 years.Quote:

Again and again we've tried to rule by god, and every time it destroyed cultures.
It is not necessary to call an ideal, philosophy, or state of mind "God" for it to work out. It saddens me that so many believe that without god, you can't have spirituality or enlightened thinking.
God does not exist because his benevolence and omnipotence are compatible because if it were true, his love for us would fore him to use his power to make the world a peaceul place.
And in 20 years, what happens?Quote:

If we do not experience all that existence 'is' then how can we progress towards Him? To fully comprehend happiness/love/friendship and all the other wonderful things He made, we must understand their opposites.
I love my daughter and want to spare her from anything bad that I can, but if I do so then I rob her of much of the fullness of life. I try and teach her right from wrong, and how to think critically and make good decisions, but in the end her life is up to her (as it should be).
The same is true of us, there must be an opposite in all things.
Lastly, we often learn a lot more from suffering that we do from happiness.
Just my $0.02. Peace.
god was invented to explain things no one could with available technology, which is why things slowly were taken as metaphors when science easily disproved religion/god.
Can you tell us how science easily disproves God?
There's nothing easy about proving/disproving God. ;)
Unconditionally, I believe in God.
if you look at the power of life to the power of no-life i actually like the fact of some supernatural being delivering my presence rather then 2 rocks sparking and giving me life (a quick summary kinda)
I believe 'god' is a term for the creation of space, stars, planet etc....
I think it's the fact that there IS a higher power, whether it be god or science, or mother nature.....knowing that you are not in charge of everything, not even your own exsistance.
I dont think God or Satan exist because theres no angels in the clouds and pissed off guys with pitchforks in the middle of the earth. Although the second one is plausible... :wtf3:
I don't really care about this subject, so I'm not going to spend much time on it, but here's a couple things:Quote:

2. The bible claims the earth is 7,000 yrs. old (or something like that). Carbon dating and fossils (as well as other things) disprove that.
3. Evolution disproves creationism, as there is PHYSICAL EVIDENCE backing evolution, and a really old book backing creation.
But believe god and the bible blindly. There's no evidence supporting anything important in religion, but someone wrote a book about it and convinced a lot of people so it must be true. Also, just because something can be proved physically doesn't mean its actually real, right? Maybe it's just the devil doing his work.
Well, it seems your theory is that an Xian God cannot exist, but that does not conclude that there is no God, god, Lord, lord, deity, supreme being, higher power, greater intelligence..... yadda yadda.
It is impossible to disprove the existence of a single or many gods.
yes, Noah's arc is a dumb story in my opinion. But it can be defended, easily, as can your other points.
1. God gave Noah and all the animals energy and strength to survive, and back in the day there really weren't that many animals, sp it wasn't hard to store them all.
2. Carbon dating is a trick from the devil to keep you away from the bible. God allows this as God knows that his true believers will not be swayed (by anything, ever).
3. God created the first microscopic beings, which evolved into higher forms.
Your friendly neighborhood agnostic ;)
But the bible says god created adam and eve, and we have scientific evidence that we have evolved from other beings. The bible doesn't say we have evolved from microscopic organisms put on earth by god. I'm going by things stated in the bible and commonly believed. It doesn't say that god gave everything strength and energy to survive. Of course you can make up random bullshit about anything proving religion wrong, saying "it's the devil" or "god did this magical thing." It's impossible to prove something undetectable doesn't exist. Btw, there's a giant lobster living in your room, and it follows you around wherever you go. This lobster is actually what created everything and is the real god. Oh, and you can't see it, smell it, touch it, hear it, or have anyone of knowing it really exists, but I'm telling you it does. Prove me wrong, I dare you to. All this b.s. about some other god making a bible and having some guy build an arc is lies made up by by the devil, and millions got sucked into it. You are therefore all going to hell. Once again, try proving me wrong.
99 Percent of all animal's are extinct according to some science I read. So I would say Noah did a shity ass job =D
its so easy to sit back in our own beliefs ,trying to defend them but im just confused, i believe in god like religion makes sense but at the same time agnoticism makes sense to it would explain a hell of alot if god existed, but it would make just as much sense if he didnt idk im just lost but im to young to really give a shit
99 Percent of all animal's are extinct according to some science I read. So I would say Noah did a shity ass job =D
cuz he was a lazy stoner, and that's a fact
Maybe God created life on earth, it evolved, and just as humans were about to be the next step in evolution, God then created Adam and Eve.Quote:

A book with a finite amount of space can't possibly explain an infinite amount of possibilities.
i think god doesnt exist because he was created by the people of oldtimes as a method of scaring people into doing good. if your good, god rewards you, if your bad good punishes you. the thought of a super powerful being whoopin your ass doesnt sound that attractive and is even kinda scary.

You started by saying that science easily disproves God, but you didn't bring anything to the table.Quote:

If you watch just 1 more movie in your lifetime, let it be this one. Trust me, love it or hate it, you will be glad you watched it. Rapid mental/ideal expansion minus the LSD.
WARNING: following may be considered blasphemous to others:
This movie shows that God/Jesus Christ/Krishna/Horus/all religious doctrines, from all eras, are all just (for the most part) misinterpreted metaphors for science & astrology. Just 1/2 an hour is all it takes. Part 1 is all you need to watch religion-wise. You will be amazed, I was.
Also, I must say, I have not researched any of the claims made in this movie, nor have I researched the sources cited (given.) Personally, I have been, and continue to be, agnostic. I do believe there is a higher power, but I do not claim/believe that I know who exactly he/she/it, is/was/or will be. This movie does though make the most logical sense out of anything I have been told/taught to believe/shown in my life. (The movie as a whole also, regarding all issues addressed, IMO)
Just saying, calling someone else's idea ridiculous isn't a good way to open conversation with someone, especially after stating that science easily proves god and religion, and then acknowledging that it's impossible to do so.Quote:

PASS THAT SEAWEED!!!
What I was saying is it's impossible to do so, but science has been disproving things supporting a god and things in the bible, as close as you can get to disproving a god.Quote:
