Yep deffinately lookin good to me mand althogh ur pics do come up a little dark on my screen but i`ve sed it b4 that there`s a hell of a lot of people come onto this forum that would die to have plants like those!!!
i`ve been getting a little worried about mine of late as i seem to be pulling handfulls of dead and dying leaves off them although around all the bud sites and the actual buds themselves they appear to be really doin well !!
I look at ur pics and they do appear to be much greener and healthier??
Have u or do u ever have grows where all the fan leaves are really dying off at 4 weeks into flower????
I know u went back to MH for a while so i`m guessing that would cause this crop to be greener as MH is more spectrum for veg state than flower but i`m wondering if i really should have so many leaves dying off on me??

Hello Digi :) taking pics really isn't a strong point of mine. The camera came with the most useless instuction book I have ever seen, I haven't a clue what I'm supposed to do what on the thing :o . I prefer the little single use disposable cameras..............really easy to use ;)

No i don't normally have many leaves die off, altough there are a few starting to loose colour at the bottom areas now. Even when I cut them there is usually quite a large amout of green leaves left on............then again I usually harvest a little too soon :o
I wonder if you're plants are putting all there energy into the new growth and buds, that's why the older ones are dying off ????

I'm looking forward to seeing them Digi :)

Oh yes I've got quiet a bit left ;) . I don't smoke everyday, maybe 2-3 times a week when I have a bit of quiet time :) . However when I do I smoke a good amount, I've been smoking since I was eighteen and I think I have built up quite a tollerance to it.

Well the temptation to get the plants cut is really there now :o
I'm not just saying that out of lack of intrest in them, I am looking at it from a practical veiw.
I don't think they are going to do much more to be honest and it is really cold in there.
The pitsels are starting to turn brown now as well.
I'll give them prehaps a little longer ...................... see how it goes ;)

I've grown quite a few times now, since 1998 I've usually grown 2 - 3 crops a year. However I always stick to the same methods and been very lucky and had very few problems.................but when a problem does ocurr it leaves me kinda scratching my head wondering "well what do I do now" :o



Hello Rastagal, Thanks love :) when you've finished you're first grow get straight on with the next one and try growing a couple of plants.
Now when you've done that I'll put money on it you will soon be growing great big crops and producing more weed than you know what to do with ;)

I'm affraid I could never put in all the hard work, effort, care and dedication into growing that some of the guys on these boards do.
When they talk about harvesting, they are not just talking about ounces but pounds/kilos of real quality weed. Have you ever seen the pics from Zandor and The Mole, to name just two ;)

Now if I could have a guy show me that much care and attention I would be a very happy bunny ;) :)



Can I just ask a serious growing question :) .................

Does anyone know of the benifits of leaving plants in total darkness for a few days before harvesting ?????

A while ago, I can't remember the name of the guy who posted ....sorry :o
I was told that by leaving a plant in total darkness for a couple of days before harvesting, that this would increase the resin production a great deal.

I am thinking of trying this, however my worries are leaving the plants with absolutely no heat at all for that length of time. When the light is off it really does get cold in the growroom.
I'm not sure if to try it with this present grow or wait untill a grow when the weather is a little milder ;)

Does anyone have any thoughts on this subject ?

i've heard things about the darkness just b4 harvesting too. i think its something to do with the fact that THC produces in the dark...so if you chop 'em just after 24-48hrs of darkness the THC leves will be plenty "high" :p

Hello :) Can I just sneak a couple of pics on ................ I've been practacing or "something like that" with the camera ;)

The first picture shows how the two stems grow from the one, from when it was "pinched" (topped).
I would like to see more bud on them without a doubt but I'm pleased with what I have got ............... it kinda says too me "please smoke me :)

They`re looking really frosty and i can see the pistills starting to turn amber in places.
i`m no expert so take what i say with a pinch of salt but i`d say u still got maybe 3 weeks before they`re done!! ???? i dunno but i`d be inclined to wait as long as i could now they`ve taken to the hps.Give them time to fatten up?? Ur more experienced grower than me so i`m sure u`ll know when but i get the feelin u just wanna hack them and start ur next! lol
I took ur advice and topped 3 of mine a week b4 flowering and i have the same 2 stems growin up from that point. i`d say them stems alone are about 8 inches tall now and they are just full of bud!! :D
Gonna have to post a few pics this week!!! :rasta:

I am just going to leave them for a while longer, although I am a little bit dissapointed with the amount, I am quite happy with how they look, especailly after all the problems :o

As for when to hack 'em down? If I were you, and really had no other reason to hack them down (other than impatience) I'd be going by the trichomes. And then it'd depend on what you wanted out of them. Either some smoke that'd weld ya to your couch so you could for sure watch some of those movies you've been trying to catch or some that would make you pee your pants cause you were laughing so hard as you power cleaned your house. That's up to you Mand, but all I've read suggests that the only way to harvest at the right time for max potency is to go by trichs. No gut feeling. No deadline cause it's Christmas. Trichs either cloudy, amber or a combo of the two.

All that said I hacked some down way early (by at least a couple weeks) and it kicks my butt. With all that resin ya got there, I'm sure this stuff would too. So of course it's your call...Madam.

I take the veiw that from the age of 19 - 30 I was married to one of lifes great losers who dragged me down and then made me feel as though it was all my fault.
At the time he even had me convinced it was my fault, however now being a little older and maybe just a "tad" wiser :rolleyes:, I know different ;) .

From the age of 30 -40 I bought my kids up and "worked my arse off" (not literaly, just a phrase of words ;) ), to provide something we never had when married ............ Security :)

So nowdays I relax, still have to work to pay the bills and put food on the table but at a more relaxed pace ;)



Oh dear Marc I'm supposed to be doing a grow journal but I seem to have wandered on to my life story, never mind that's how I am :)




Well the question of when to harvest, knowing when the buds are at their peak ?
In all honesty I have difficulty with this, I know they are not ready just yet.
I can't go by the smell because I have no sense of smell, but I can taste it in the air in the growroom ................ honestly the air is thick with the taste of maturing buds.
If there are any problems such as hermmies or bud rot then I will cut them and they will be quite reasonable. However I reckon about another 2 - 3 week will see them at their peak ;)

What type of weed do I like ? .................. I like the kind that doesn't hit you straight away, you know sorta takes 5 - 10 mins before it hits home.
That's the kind that normally "knocks me sideways", you know the feeling where you just don't care ................ that's the one for me ;)

Hello :) ................ Last update "Thank Gawd" :rolleyes: :)

Well the quantity is right down ( I've known that it would be since the problems ;) ), anyway thats enough of the exscuses :o


I did intend to leave them a few more weeks but one of the things that I said would make me harvest earlier has happened ................ at the bottom of a couple of plants were numerous male flowers appearing. So that was it out came the sisscors :o

Firstly the pics are not very good I'm affraid, my son has got my camera so I had to borrow one and I'm lost with it. Most of the pics were just to blurry to see anything, so I'll just put on those that are kinda ok - ish.

The first pics are supposed to be of the male flowers, the stuff in the shoe box is small buds, resinous leaves and anything else that looked reasonable for smoking ;) these are going to be forced dried and stored in a biscuit tin or something like that, it depends what I can find :o
The last pics are of any decent buds, these are going to be hung and dried and then wrapped up and put into the freezer as I'm not going to need them for a while.
Also there is a pic of all the scrap ends that normally get thrown away but if I can find the time I might have a bash at Harrdons hash oil ?

I am sorry that I haven't got a great big harvest to post on here but "never mind" that's how it goes sometimes ;)

Oh I'm just going to put 8 Sensi Skunk and 8 Skunk#1 in a few paper towels................with a bit of luck they will be under the lamp by Sunday/Monday, I'll give doing a journal on them a miss this time ;)

I had read that freezing flowers will degrade the potency of them. Don't know how much, but it said it's not a good thing to do. FWIW

After you cure them, just leave them in the jars! MJ is like fine women - they age beutifully!:) ...The MJ gets better taste.. !:)

Hello PP :) Just stick with the way you're growing and you'll have an harvest much larger than this one ;) Since going into flowering it's been one problem after another, I really am quite relieved to see the back of this grow ;)

It's one of those things that some people say "yes freezing is best" :) and other people say "oh no it's a bad idea" :(

Honestly Marc I have found that for longer term storage it is prehaps the best way to store cannabis, you just have to make sure that it is totally and utterly dry before wrapping and freezing.

Right I best get that dinner cooking ;)

Hello Rekap :) the fact of the matter is love that I have as much left from the last grow as what this one has produced. I would say that this crop has turned out as much as what 3 or 4 plants would normally :o


Anyway like I always say as long as I have enough for me then that's all that matters. If I didn't then I would have to look into increasing the yeild, by uprating to a 1,000 watt system, painting out this growroom, growing less plants but in larger pots and maybe looking into using some nutrients.

I still wish I knew what the problem was when inducing, I am sure now that it wasn't the bulb. There was definietely some conditions that ocurred, I think that is safe to say with the appearance of hermmies.
However I'll just keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again ;)

A little job I have to do tomorrow is to get riddling the compost heap out before the new seeds sprout ;)

Oh and an even more important job I have to do is to find something to wear for this saturday night ....................... I've got a Christmas party to go to and haven't got a thing......... you know you guys don't know how easy you've got it when it comes to going out :)

Congratulations on reaching the finish line :D The harvest looks great and your thread was really interesting I have been following it at every update :) . I would just like to suggest after you have dried the plants, maybe do a cure? it is basically just putting them into mason jars and putting the lid on 24 hours then lid off 1 or 2 hours then back on 24 off 1 or 2 hours ... you get the point :) if you do this over an extended period of time the plants last struggle for survival is an ammonia release and this is what you can often feel, like the kind of harshness at the back of the throat :cool: The curing will make the smoke very smooth apparently :thumbsup: :) Oh about the hermies I believe it might have been the cold or some other factor which might have stressed them a bit into hermie plants.

Hello Fugitive :) well I have to admit that doing a journal about this grow was stressfull :o . I so wanted it to be a grow to be proud off, but alas
it was an extermely mediocore one ;)
Anyway love I also have to admit that a great compensation for me is seeing all the other grows on here doing really well :)
You see I truthfully don't worry about yeild and all that type of thing as long as I have enough for myself then I am happy :)
However too see such as yourself and some of the other guys and gals on here growing for their first time and making succsessfull grows is a real fabulous thing to see :)


Oh dear as for curing all I do is after the buds have dried is to let them have a little time in open paper bags, to kinda settle down a little before storing ;)

I was shocked to look at your thread today and see u`d hacked them all down!!! I`ve followed ur thread from the start and it`s been a joy to follow although i know u`ve had ur problems and it`s not turned out as well as u`d wished :( it`s still been great for us all to follow and i`m sure everyone reading it has learnt a little from it - and lets face it .... that`s what this is all about isnt it?
Shame u started to get hermies cos i was looking forward to seein those buds mature a bit more but thats life eh? shit happens!!!! :(

It`s difficult i suppose as i think most of us are still a bit mystified as to why the problems u had occured!! Although if i was you, i`d be looking at ways of stopping condensation and improving temperatures and airflow in there as i`m sure these were a major factor. ;)
All that sed u still look to have a fair yield and above all it`s been great for us all to follow. :thumbsup:
i`ve just started to feed mine with some canna pk 13/14 so i`m hoping they`ll fatten up even more. I keep threatening to post some pics but am havin probs borrowin a cam at the mo. Will definately put some up b4 i hack them though. Mine are a week behind urs.

Tincture is good to make out of leaves..A friend whom cannot smoke uses the tincture and says its great..
