Raiz' First Grow Log - 3 White Widow Seeds from Nirvana

I got one of those pocket magnifiers that goes 60-100x zoom. Hell, it's hard to see anything that close. A 30x probably would have been better. So, at this point, it's hard to tell. I have a picture that is actually pretty close up though, so maybe you can help me.

What is it!!!??? The leaves on Watson are lighter green than the other two plants. Camara and Scarlet look great. The worst leaves are turning slightly black, with tiny brown spots. Any idea what's causing it? All three plants get the same food and water...

your plants are maturing mang! the fan leaves are turning colors just like other leaves in the fall, or this could mean that the plant has used up all the nutrients in the soil and could use some feeding.

The color change is the plant maturing. The little brown spots almost look like mite bites,... but I'm by no means an expert :o

I dunno guys, it seems too early for the discoloration. Also, how do you explain that this plant is showing the discoloration and spots while the other two look perfectly fine? Also, I just gave them a Fox Farm full nutrient dose yesterday....

I think I forgot to mention that I watered yesterday will full Fox Farm Nutes. This time they got all three. Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom just as the feeding schedule says.

Here are the poor neglected clones. Bleh! It seems like the Scarlet clone got a lot of lower growth after I topped her.

Seeing as you just introduced all of your nutes it just be that the ladies are having a little bit of nute burn. You could try flushing and see if that helps at all or just use less of a dose next feed. I may be completely off, but that is all I can think of...

That doesn't look too bad at all. Try to back off the nutes just a tad perhaps, and see if it goes away if you're really upset by it. Otherwise, it looks within the rather acceptable range and shouldn't do much harm. :)

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'm still worried though. The leaf problem looks even worse today. Sigh...
The leaf damage is on the top leaves, so no chance of nute splashing. Maybe I'll try just feeding with water on Watson for the next couple feedings.

This was done just with T5 3000k? Damn it looks good! I just stuck a panel in my little room 3000k and 3500k T5's.

XGR33NthumbX - I still don't know... Taking off the fan leaves didn't seem to have any harmful effect upon the plant at all. What I'm going to compare however, is the yeild of the plant. As far as harvest goes, it's hard to tell. Sometimes White Widow takes up to 12 weeks, so I'll just have to wait until the trichomes tell me it's time.

KenWood, yes, it was all done with a 6 bulb, 4 foot T5 light. In veg I was using 6 6500k bulbs. In flowering I'm using 4 3000k bulbs and 2 6500k bulbs.

I was thinking about it and the browning on your leaves is probably just normal for this point in flowering. Where are the browning leaves? Top, bottom, all over, etc...

Other than that those ladies look amazing man! I can't wait to see my snow whites in flower!

KenWood - the buds feel pretty solid, but I don't know what'll happen after drying. This is my first grow.

t3hn00b137 - maybe it's normal for Watson to turn colors at this point, but not the other two? Who knows... with three seeds you're going to get 3 different sets of genes. Oh, and the leaf discoloration is on the 3-4 sets of fan leaves coming off of Watson's main cola.

I'm really noticing that the growth has slowed down on all three girls. Heck, if I harvested now I'd be completely happy though, so any additional weight they put on is just a bonus!

I'm wondering about White widow in SCROG,... you have 2 colas that are just reaching for the sky, which is good for them,... but with the T5 lighting isn't that bad for the rest of the screen?:confused:

I'm legal to grow, so I'm not really worried. It would just end up being a complete waste of time for some cop to try and trace me to my fingerprints and then be sent home crying after all his hard work when I showed him my recommendation.

Yeah man, it is bad for the rest of the screen. Somewhere at the end of vegging I learned a very important lesson.... don't let the top of your plant thicken up too much or it'll break off when you try to bend it. I had the choice to break off the main colas, or let them grow because I waited too long to bend them over and they got thiiiick. So I decided to let em grow.

Tonight I looked at the girls under the 60x magnifier, and I saw something strange. There are groups of trichomes that look amber on Scarlet. While the majority are still clear, with a few milky, it's strange to see a couple groups of amber trichs. Does anyone know why this might be?

Here are the spots on Watson's main cola fan leaves. Not getting any better. I watered all three with only water today to hopefully flush a little bit of whatever is causing the problem out of the soil.

I did one LST one topped and one Natural on my first grow. Issue I'm having is the bud weight pulling the branches down. So I tied them to a hook in the ceiling. Then they just fell to the sides.

My point is, I grew two clones from the disp. One is G13xAfgani, the other is Durban poison. They are both WAY bigger then my first plants(currently finishing), and both are LST'd. I'm thinking your SCRog method looks great. I'll guts HAVE to re-create that here.:thumbsup:

You're right on point, bubb. Your girls will pull their (n) reserves from the foliage. And she'll become more sugar coated as time passes. Don't be alarmed of yellowing during flower, this is the girl's natural transition for furthering the potential progeny/flowers before winter. But remain weary about nutes vs lighting. Nute directions are typically for 1k HID or sun in the labs w/ the R&D notes.

Edit: BTW I really like both spectrum's with the WW. Harvested at clear:cloudy 75:25 and all amber. She's has a screeching creeper high at mostly clear, and a really, really, good body effect while 90% amber.

LoL, I can just imagine them all tied to the ceiling and then falling over... sad, but kinda funny. The SCROG worked decently well even though Camara and Watson still took off. If nothing else, it gives all the buds a support structure.

I'm not sure we can get much more sugar coating. They're already completely white.
The thing that bothers me about the yellowing leaves is that it feels a bit early, and only 1 of the 3 plants is doing it. The other two are nice and dark green.
Good info about the two ways to harvest.:thumbsup: I plan to take buds at least 2 different times and compare the high.

Actually that's something that I've been meaning to mention n00b. The smell is really strong when I lift up the plastic curtain. Thank god I installed the ceiling fan sucking all that odor out, or my whole house would smell. Also, it's a good thing I love the smell.

Looking good Raiz! I have been checking in on this every couple of days the last few months and it has been a treat to see all the progress. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you are 43 days into flowering isn't that 6 weeks and 1 day, so you are 1 day into week seven? (7 full weeks would be 49 days)
