Awww, come on Rock....let me steal just one Hummer...... I promise never to do it again......
Those Army dudes will never miss just one...LOL.
I can see it now...me & Weedy are hauling ass in the stolen Army Hummer...Weedy's eating capsules & I'm smoking big fatties...
Mmmmm....capsules & fatties (imagine Homer saying this)
However, Weedy & I are much too smart to ever get hemmed in by the Grand Canyon & have to bail.....
p.s. I wanna be Thelma

Repotted the 2 gals today into 5 gallon pots, staked em...hope they get bigger. I noticed that the pistils may have gotten a little frost bit & withered looking....must be the freezing temps they endured....oh well. Back on 24-0 for a while to buff em up.
Today & tomorrow really good Moon planting days! Moon's in Cancer/2nd quarter....

There needs to be room in the hummer for all the dogs.......
Lola I read somewhere (can't remember where) that you ended up with a bunch of males?
-
Gardening by The Moon- a discussion of the technique
Weedy, too much room in a hummer, plus, i just have a personal dislike, its a Jeep thing, long story. please, resist the temptation.:wtf:
she did post (over there) that she wound up with "almost" all males.
she did however get 1 female each of the 2 varieties she germed (cant remember the strains)
Lola, I had a cold snap in one of my past grows.
it basically, 'stunned' em and took a lil time for them to bounce back.
if it wasnt too severe, yours will probably come out of it. give them time n love.
try to keep temps no lower than 60F at night.
lets see some current pics.
do i need to send u a camera?:wtf:
seriously, let me know.
Rock.
fwiw- im so happy to have my "WTF"(:wtf:) smilie and avatar back:pimp:

heyho
just thought to drop in and give you the results of my moon planted cuttings and seedlings... 2x2 sets of cuts and 1x2 sets of seed. results were uniform across all sets... no difference between barren and fruitful moon planting.
conditions have been tough in the last few weeks with consistent daytime tops between 100f and 112f there has been a few losses. again, unrelated to the moon. The distinguishing feature seems to be the medium... 90% of losses were soil planted, 10% were in coco/perlite. out of the survivors, the coco/perlite planted are nearly twice the size of the soil planted.
two hours to sunset... still 110f and the aircon has died. wall to wall sauna.

Hey Ya'll,
Went out yesterday & turned my water meter back on...no water INSIDE the house right now leaking, afraid to crawl under the house to look for leaks, guess that is my next move....was nice to sleep in my own bed for a change!
Weedy, all my NL5Haze plants fooled me & turned out to be males....only have 1 Cali Orange and 1 White Rhino gal....gonna save some pollen from the boys and breed for seeds. Never had plants fool me so badly! I fancied myself the expert sexer, and all had female preflowers, but Surprise! Oh well...watcha gonna do? LOL
Now it's 70 degrees outside! Go figure......Hope we have an early spring for a change...
Sara: Nice to hear from you, sounds like Australia is hot, hot hot!
Rock: Yeah, send Nikon D40 ASAP! Hahaha....Not much to take a picture of right now, just 2 small baby plants alone in the grow room....They look so puny, especially the Cali Orange. That strain's never done too well here.
Dutch: Haha, you so funny!
Good to hear from all of ya'll! Now, under the house for me with a flashlight....already seen a big snake under there once, and don't want to go under the house...damn snakes scare the crap out of me! I think I will take my 38 and load it with some rat shot shells I have......just in case!

No worries LG.
No need .38!
Throw the bird at the snake!
And follow the mist to fill the water bottle.
No water bottle?
Type "PLUGH" to get you back the the well-house .
Drop the keys, get the water bottle, then "Xyzzy" to get you back into the room with the wand

LOL Lola,Remember those computers...My first computer was a "hand me down" from my kid brother who was the genius of the family...He gave it to me in the 80's and it was an Atari ST...There was no internet and the games were prehistoric by todays standards but man that was the ultimate living room item to have back then,lol...
Don't you dare leave me hangin' with this Col. thing...I'm trying to narrow it down and my deductions are you were in the service(interesting) or you were on a roller derby team called the Colonels(holy shit!!!)...
Nice to see ya lady,
luv ya,

Just a Kentucky Colonel....they pass those out to anybody.... You get a big certificate signed by the governor & get good tickets to the Derby and all the Derby parties (if you like to hang out with oldsters)....
Basically, it's a holdover from 1790s when Issac Shelby started it to recognise his "aide-de-camps". It's just a thang they give out to your basic hero types..hahaha
At least I can put Colonel on my tombstone..haha.....That's how Colonel Sanders got started LOL. Anybody wanna buy my secret recipe for chicken?
Think I'm gonna go play in the worm poop...

Bingo! And the Colonel wins a blunt.
Best game ever indeed!
Played it on a TRS 80 w/ 16Kb of ram, then a Xerox cpm machine w/32 K of ram and 8" disk drives.
Actually got my framed "Certificate of Wizardry" from Software toolworks hanging in the guest room.
Plugh is not a cheat code. Just one of the legitimate magic words.
Without it you'd have to use the batteries and screw up a perfect score.
Don't get stuck at Witts end.:(
Scottish manor? Don't ring a bell!
But, I never throw anything out. Got game CDs from the 80s.
If you can remember a bit more about it, I'll try to track it down for ya.

Gardening by The Moon- a discussion of the technique
Lola,
Been checking in on your thread, good one! And fun! Go figure KFC!
Col.Lola--don't think us 'oldies' would mind putting up with you youngun's! lol!
Ask for a Nikon 90: they look pretty good--anyone know and what len's to get with um? I have to get one too, for my immaginary gro. and Trich. pics!
Should have ask the MPS to go under the house. I have to walk my dog with a 357 (guy down way down the street has a 4 ft fence- 2 pit bulls, 3 Rot's, German Shep's and one he calls a Wolf dog!). I decided I was being stupid and drive to town now! Sucks.
Now, plant about 4 acres of hemp/NCDG and put it in your stollen hummer and let them inhale that!!! Now, imagine--a pink T-bird blowing smoke on sandy Grand Cyn. Get's to the edge and Weedy says,"that's good smoke were wasting, turn around and inhale!
Is your water leak fixed? Are you on Well Water? I am, sucks at times! I deal with 4 different types of rattlers--dumbass me, walking on my property just after sundown and damn thing was "hissing"! I thought and have only heard rattles, which it did when it lunged and missed-I think! So, couldn't see it and pissed with it, almost started pushing up ganga that eve! (Sun goes down, I go in now) But, still here and more fear of snakes than ever. Got some snake shot now! Is that the same as gopher/rat shot? Now, I have noticed I have an owl that hoots all night near the area and a crow that sorta bark likes during the day--hope they take care of um. Found 2 more within a couple weeks and then a freeze!
I tried a accidental Thelma unfortunately my little dog was a passenger (I deserved your 38 with gopher shot for that)! 60 ft. straight down (AAA won't tow more than 25 ft off road to recover it) onto SAND my own property too, of all luck. Had a dozer get it out, once I healed a bit! Several broken ribs, contused lung and heart. My poor little dog and biggest concern--was worried about me as I her. More so than myself and really didn't realize I was even injured for fear of my little dog waiting behind a Sage and peeking at me! It wasn't my 4X, but good thing (no airbags), I keep every car I buy. It was a Toyota Avalon (of all little things)--the falling felt like a good ride, the end, fortunately soft. But, airbags deployed already (at roadside) and then, how to get out of a hole with pre-existing medical probs., which were fine! Fortunately, it was at the bare end of my property (not the Grand Cyn)and crawled up a hill to home! Too tired to go to doc for a few days! Take the Hummer UP not down, believe me, it may feel better!
Now to the topic: Do you put anything like blankets, towels or sheets over your girls when the temp drops? Anyone--does it help? I live in hot climate, but this is the cold-snow year. So, I need to be prepared! And occasionally, it is cold at night after summer soltice!
Damn, some dog in my trash and that 357 sure scares them off and wakes up the owners of it! Gotta Go! Crap, it snowed the past 2 days and too muddy to pick up trash! Well, gonna start diggin my holes for the fences! Just hate um in the country! Now with mmj, I love'um and wonder-how many snakes I'll find in my garden this year!
Thanks for all the great sexing info! Think they turned? The weather or just too much spring water? Or just because! I'll take that! I've been watching many DVD's and reading ton's of books. Guess, I'll have to see if I can find some bagweed to start-but I can't smoke it. With spinal problems, it makes the pain worse. I haven't figured that one out, yet! Then a little Indica and it will stop. I'd like that garden with every possible clone to pick and choose for each grow!
Again, thanks for such a great thread and all the great comments and learnin from all! P/R:jointsmile: :hippy:
That friggin dog, gotta go. Just a little break in the snow too! More snow this year than the past 20 combined!
Saw Aussie fires on TV last night--hope you are all doing well! Know how it feels!

I've been doing that flush thing ever since you told me about it! Only way I can get the soil runoff right....Do you think all that flushing gets rid of the added nutes in the MG? Weez: Of course I used Plugh! Just never finished the game! That seems to be a recurring theme with me....Now I'm hooked on Lara Croft & Tomb Raider, which I am never able to beat either..... Dunno about the name of the Scottish Manor thing....something like McDougall's Manor...Almost beat that one.....then got a new computer and lost it...
PR: You gotta quit hill surfing in that Toyota! I'm on city water, but have 3 springs here, and an old well. I was just joking about the $400 camera....lol..somehow can't expect a free camera..haha.... I bought a $30 digital camera, it'll get the job done....(I'm so cheap haha)

Dang, after seeing your grows, now I'm feeliing better about the MG Organic Soil. It was the best choice I had here in Podunkia. I got some new supplies of Perlite yesterday too...gotta love the Perlite!
The remaining 2 gals seem to like being in their new fat 5 gallon homes. Got some new leaves popping out on the Cali Orange big stem.....It's now hot in the grow room, had to turn 1 light off to avoid 90 plus temps....These girls are getting an extreme weather work out.....

I don't know if the flush helps reduce the added nutes or not. I use the moisture control POTTING MIX. I think some peeps get the GARDEN soil by mistake. The 20% perlite added is critical. I like to mix up a big batch and flush it after adding the perlite and a pinch of lime.
Then, I put it into my 16-20 oz party cups (not clear)...put my seed down 1/4 inch...and keep the soil/air temp at 80-85 degrees. (You know the two cups inside one; deal, already...) I have never checked the runoff ph that early...so, I have no idea what it is?
When the sprouts break the surface...I set them under T-12 6500k floro shop lights. No danger of burning..1-2 inches above. I usually go 2-3 weeks like this...until rootbound in the cups. (These pics are in 4 inch clay pots..which is a BIG mistake)

WT: my stupidity isn't illegal yet-one civil right we've managed to retain! I am reading that the moon is a 'guide'. Hope it doesn't have a thing to do with anything more than my feeling the need for active stupidity!
Lolagal: My fave meal! Are you into (meat) smokers? I bought a killer one in TX, then a car to haul it back (instead of fly). Yum! Will try the pump spice thou! Great idea, never heard it.
Do you really think the Moon has much to do with an indoor grow, since we are 'foolin' mo nature anyway with our lights? And thanks for the clarity of why MP's would be on your prop--too close to base. Do they practice with ordinance's flying your yard. I know a farmer in Wisc. that ordinance's were targeted for his farm routinely as, they never looked past the trees! The cows production went way down and they missed every little black and white spotted one!!
I have been under a lot of crawl spaces and haven't seen one snake yet, my biggest fear, of course! I doubt I'll do that again. Instead, I got on top of my RV to get the snow off the Satellite and solar panels. The fear of falling off is as bad of the snakes under house!
The local ag dept sells killer mouse and rat poison. They 'contend' get rid of the food supply and the snakes will leave. Other threads say piss around your plants, etc. I'd shit all over if I thot it'd get rid of um! Dont' know if I'd use my product after that thou! Have a full moon BBQ snake party. Catch it and Lola will BBQ it for you!
Is the leak fixed? They may be there for the water.
I know a lot of farmers follow the moon, that is all they had a century past. They were pretty skinny those days with a shorter life span. I will try a 'MOON GROW" and when you perfect a moon strain-sell it! Would be fun to try. Like a 'group grow!'
I can assure you, those mods are not sleeping! They are here-found um! I was wondering for a bit myself-didn't take long!
HT Oct. 2009 issue: Seed #4: Colonel L's Moon pet! Celebration Party--Kentucky! Seeds not blue in color! Hummm....think the moon has anything to do with white seeds or still just immature seeds?
Me cheap on the things I use very little also--so I find them cheaper. Like a great game, who can beat this price. I actually want great Trich pictures, will a $30 camera do it?
Your thread, if you don't like the jacking, say so; we'll shape up. After the withdrawal of a month, we have to dust off a little! I looked into that little box with what is on and off in your posts (which I have no clue what most of those initials mean anyway) and there it states: Forum Rules. I loved it, easy to find. Try reading it. Doesn't say you can't jack a thread. Out of courtesy, most of us first wait to see if thread owner does it and then ask. I'm asking?
I am partaking (for legal reason's, vicariously-of course) in a Kush X Blueberry. U think it is a bit much for a first time in a completely new environment and supplies (with last gro about 30 yr?). My reading says flushing not only blows off the old nutes, etc. Helps prevent disease, etc. And having tasted a few--if it isn't flushed well, you can taste the dirt and nukes! I have some Kush I bought last Sept. I swear I can taste the dirt! Which is why it has lasted so long and my using has been reserved for severe pain days. I love the organic stuff.
Doesn't root bound cause some mold? Do you cut off any of the residual roots. Seems I read a thread with some SA comments and they cut off the bottom of plant with some mold on it-maybe wrong, it happens alot). I know I've read don't touch roots more than possible. However, gardening books say to pull them loose to plant, etc. I have planted some that said cut off some as well--haven't done it, sounds to harsh.
Very interesting thread and thanks so much for sharing and the experts that have chimed in. I am just soaking it all in. For my amatuer grows, when it is federally legal, of course!
I was told to flush for a few weeks on the ground if growing outdoors with mostly a mix of local dirt. However, I think local dirt is contaminated and the flush sounds like a, best bet! When you vape (especially) you'd start just for the flavor (or switch to buttered Fudge) It makes a much better smoke!
Those $6. bags may be preventable. I used co-poly in a non-edible grow and it was $15. per 14 oz. I called the distribution center for Target! They had a mail order 100 lb bag of it for less than $100.! Years ago, but may still do it and save a lot of money! They may have it, even if hey don't have it in the stores. cuz, I cheap too and like a nice yard. P/R
I thot Apple became compatible with other PC's. Is there a glitch in it?? or good reason to buy a new camera? Bet the spring water taste's good and your girls love'um! Perked right up!
Ever dream of rows of cannibis plants on 50 acres and not have to worry! I wanna, just because! Or, Woodstock party in Kentucky! Wow, a real farm of cannabis and owner quits daytime job to host parties that increase clouds in the sky!

I've dreamed of putting the whole farm out in high grade crops....One field of this, another field of that....using all clones of course!
The book "Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come",by John Fox, Jr tells about fields of hemp stretching as far as the eye could see.... It's a book about Ky in the pre- civil war era.
Anyway that would be so cool to one day grow your own crop of high quality MJ in such a manner. Can't wait for legalization, then ya'll will be importing my good weed wherever it was needed in the dispensaries..lol
Did a wake & bake hee hee, having a good time.....
Here's a pic of my White Rhino gal, she was just repotted into a real pot, was rootbound but seems to be doing well for a plant who lived in the dark for 9 days and nights in freezing temps of down to 0 degrees with absolutely no heat at all... Maybe that Moon planting was what pulled em all through???!!!!!

Now raising Super Thoroughbred Moon Planted Amazons! :D
Following the theory of germing, transplanting & harvesting in favorable moon signs, I've attempted to raise what are termed thoroughbred plants.. This seems to have invested potential superpowers to all the plants!!!! Yes, that's right, they survived in freezing cold (lowest indoor recorded temp was 35 degrees) and no light for 9 days!
No signs at all on the pollen crops being damaged... they seem super hardy and will have tons of flowers...no hermies noted among the crop of males.
Help me pick a potential father for the future NL5Haze seeds please...
Contestant #1 has a fruity aroma, perhaps a strawberry smell, and is shorter
Contestant #2 survives being pinched at top node, only to pop right back up. He has a skunky smell.
Contestant #3 As tall as #2, smelling about the same as #2. Skunky smell.
Who do ya'll think would make the best NL5Haze Daddy? 1,2,or 3?
As for the other two strains had a 50/50 split with one male and female Whino and one male and female California Orange Bud....Of course, will breed these for seeds to purebred out some lines... Only started 3 seeds of 3 strains originally. Lost 2 plants to mystery ailment, did not survive as clones with the weather here.
Anyway, I'm really impressed they did not seem to suffer any minor damage from the horrible conditions. Their problems were related to being the only 2 plants that did not get repotted at last transplant time. Both of the females were rootbound..... No signs of hermie on the 2 gals

"Who do ya'll think would make the best NL5Haze Daddy? 1,2,or 3?"
Um, With a few paper bags and some twist ties, 2 girls and 3 boys'l getcha 6 different strains of seeds.
Label a small paper bag.
Slightly moisten the inside of the bag with a sprayer.
Pull it over the males naughty bits and shake it a little.
The pollen will stick to the bag.
Remove while still moist and the inside should have a yellow dusting of pollen.
Put the bag over a cola, tie it closed and wait for it to dry.
Then pinch the mouth of the bag with a moist paper towel to catch any "puffs" and "snap" the bottom and sides with your fingers to get the pollen floating.
Wait a few hours.
Spritz the outside of the bag with water, shake it to trap any remaining pollen and remove it carefully.
Label each cola with a li'l birth certificate listing the parents and wait for seed.
If you are carefull you'll still have plenty of unfertilized colas for your stash and a nice assortment of seeds to try.
Ya nevah know which ones are going to be exceptional until you try 'em all.
Aloha and bedda wedda ovah dere.

Is your grow room looking like mine? Yuck, gotta get it organized!!!! Luckily for us, Guess What? The Moon Signs are right for getting a lot accomplished, so let's all get our grows organized while the Moon is right!
February Optimal Days to organize Closets, storage areas, attics, and basements are : 10th, 11th, and 12th! Also 22nd-26th are great this month!
This is a great time to donate all that unwanted stuff to charity & make more space. If you grow in the attic, then get busy tomorrow, and soon you will have twice the room!!
THE BEST ORGANIZATIONAL DATES ARE: February 10th & 11th!!!!! These 2 days are best for organizational overhauls in any area! Guess I'll be working in the grow area tomorrow & next day for sure.
 Have fun, Moon Gardeners, get those areas in shape & let me know if the Moon made it easier for you to get it all done!

Made some "ho-made"(pun intended) cloning gel today. Got this idea...what do ya'll think?
I took some sterile K-Y jelly (water soluble), and added some powdered rooting hormone. This made the perfect cloning gel, which I applied to the lower branches of my mother plant using a paint brush.
I will see how this works on root development on the stem WHILE the stem is still attached to the mother. I think this may make cloning easier, since mother will keep stems in great shape, while hopefully rooting becomes favorable on the stem surface.
Anyway K-Y jelly & rooting hormone makes a great cloning jel for pennies. I plan on mixing up tiny batches as needed...Only a girl could have come up with this idea...LOL

Right now it's totally attached to the Mom....I may air layer in a few days, I need some kind of rooting medium for that, all I have is some moss, I'm sure the pH of that would be so low, may keep it from rooting.?
Anyway, try out the Ho-Made rooting gel and let me know if you like the idea. So far so good, here....
