Collecting pollen all morning...yipee!!! The HKxBI male has about a week till popping...this BR was FAST...which is a great thing breeding wise. Perfect dad...stinky as hell, flowered in 2 weeks!!!, and great parents;)

First 2 pics are the Church, doing quite lovely after her haircut, as they all are. The second 2 pics are the SB, and the 2 I will post next are the HKxBI, which continues to amaze me, fuckers are FAST!
After finding out Fri that Im gonna be a daddy:dance::clap::what::joint1::giggity::eat::woo hoo:, the 2 males seemed to feel the vibe. The BR daddy has given all kinds of powdery goodness already, and the HKxBI pops is lookin like he only has 4-5 days left before doing his business...
Clones look half dead, but they are feeding on the lower leaves, so I guess thats a good thing...we shall see...
Bet the vibe around these plants is gonna be alot better too now, Im sure my happy daddy vibes are gonna rub off....cant wait!!!!!!!

I like their haircuts!
SnS, do you mean a real daddy, like with human child? If so congrats. It's amazing. Get ready to lead a different life.
Hi stealth it really cool seein some success with tha LeD's. Looks like youve been at it and got some of it figured out. I am lookin to use Led's on my next grow and was wonderin what kinda recomendations as far as which led's to go with and mind this will be for single plant scrog and budget is off high importance, cant afford tha proxicons etc. Looking at the "glow panel" 45 watt, and one thats 50 watt high power they are all like 12x12 panels. Are these worth a shot. Not really have to get huge yields etc jus enough for some personal use. Any help would be great. Name says rick but it should be Mulletman!!:rastabanna:
the panels are garbage...wont work. If you want budget, building your own would be the best bet...check the perfect LED growlight thread for info on that....

I'll second that!Quote:

Thanks for the reply, saw your thread on the perfect led but kinda had skimmed through it the first time looks like I need to take a second look. So yall know those types of panels I was talkin about. yeah theres like this huge price jump with the leds its like it goes from tops 100 dollars to bam 500 and 600. From the outside I was just lookin at watts and thought well 45 watt panels for 100 dollars or so or those 90 or 100 watters for like 600 bucks and thought the 45's are tha deal. Thanks might be back.:wtf:

Let's see, um carry the remainder,,,<scritch>
About 200 ma. per LED.
Their 300Watt unit has the same math impairment.
288 LED at 1 Watt ea. even 97% efficiency are not 300Watts!
:wtf:
I know what ya mean about prices.
Still, if they were cheap, I wouldn't build my own.
look at all the fun I'd miss. :)
Aloha Weezard
Oops, sorry for the jack WT, forgot where I was.
Weeze
Congratulations again Stealth. And your plants look good and healthy these days too.
Without fail you get what you pay for. And 45 watts of nothing but the proper wavelengths might grow a very small plant.Quote:

The last few days weve been under heavy bombardment from the enemy. Our recon team brought us some valuable info on their true identity and there activities. It seems the biting midge(southpark anyone?), as its called, likes 80° and wet soil. So we mounted our offensive by jacking the a/c down to 72°, and suspending any any watering or foliar feeding. Also we have deployed the Hot Shot Pest Strip 101st Division and it seems to be making advances along the front. Recon also found these glue strips online with 2 holes at either end placed on a stick and driven into the soil, as the midges (midgi?) are prone to walk up the stem to take flight only to be trapped by the strip. We had the parts needed so the engineer corps. made a reasonable copy that seems to be a major weapon in our arsenal. Yesterday we called in the Naval forces to attack them with fish oils and other nutes in a hope to carpet bomb the entire installation.
The fight has been hard but we are beginning to see some headway. None of their scouts (adults) have been captured outside the closet. They may have heard punishment will be swift and severe...lol. Recon has shown this morning that a lone soldier was seen scurrying across the wall, but this is a significant improvement.
Be assured the war is not over but the fight is being taken to the enemy with as much passion, skill and technolgy needed to send those sons-of-bitches back from whence they came - outside.
That is all. Any troop movements or other significant happenings will be reported as it is known.

P.S. Here a picture of our enemy. Know your enemy more than it knows you.
...LOL!!! right on. KILL EM ALL!!! :beatdeadhorse::apachecopter::rambo::Tomcat::toile t_claw::S4::gunfighter2::asskick::gunfighter2::hip py::hippy:
Darn pests. Perhaps they should be court marshaled.
They's nothing but low-down, double-dealing, backstabbing, larcenous perverted worms! Hanging's too good for em. Burning's too good for em! They should be torn into little bitsy pieces and buried alive!
WT, sounds like you're deploying just about your entire arsenal for total annihilation, eh? I wish you luck, my friend, but it sounds like you really don't need luck anymore. Pests are a royal pain. I never knew how bad whiteflies are until 1/2 of my gardenias disappeared in a white cloud. I neemed them up good today though, and will continue until they are history, much like your midges.
Congratulations on having a lil' one on the way. There's nothing quite like it. From the way you take good care of your plants, I have no doubt you will be a great dad.
Your plants look really outstanding despite your pest issue. I wish I could get mine to be as dark green and healthy looking. Keep up the outstanding work, my friend!
hey SnS
congrats on the iminent arrival, im real happy for ya.
i just been so busy this summer (damn work keepin me form my woman, my home and my planned grow. my lady wasnt comfortable lookin after them so i got a friend now startin a new grow with the lamp i made (it looks so sweet, i'll fire up that old thread and get some pics prob within the next 2 weeks).
its runnin about 130 watts of luxeon rebels and 6o watts of the ledengine 660's so got big hopes for it. my mate's gonna take pics once a week so i'll post a log and drop in a link for ya. so excited been waitin to do this for so long.
peace out:hippy:
There is NO SEX IN THE GROW ROOM...lol
The midge wars are going well. I believe we've stopped most, if not all, from mating. Found out they can lay 50-100 eggs:wtf: There are still a few moving around but by this time in the last life cycle(thanks weez) there were adults all over the bedroom. They dont seem to be getting to adulthood, probably from the pest strip im sure. Although the glue strips on a stick seem to be collecting a decent amount of them too. BTW to anyone using red/blue LEDs, dont expect anything to be attracted to yellow(glue strips and such) at least not nearly as much as in white light.
hey jaz, the papers ive read on im pretty sure they arent doing much to the plants as they supposedly eat dead material. Still, they are unwelcome. Sorry to hear about your white flies:( and yeah whiskeys gonna have his hands full but im sure him and the wife will have a great kid...ive seen the way they train their dogs ...lol j/k.
We'll try and get some pics up today as the pistils for budding are shooting out all over the place:yippee:
Sorry if this question doesnt pertain to your grow WT but i think i just purchased the same Hot Shot Pest Strips as you (the one that relases oderless vapor) and wanted to know if they would have any affect on plants in the room. I read the back and it says its not for use in a room where you are in for long periods of time.
DoDo
hey Dodo,
good to see ya:thumbsup:
I think I remember stinkyattic say it was fine until the last 3 days. could you confirm stinks?...lol
Doughboy:smokin:
Hi, I hope you have conquered your invading hordes. Those no pest strips worked great for me when I had trouble with spider mites one year.
I have been following your grows and they are amazing. I have a question I know in the past you have grown using "old school" light and I know the yields have been similar to both methods but am wondering if you have noticed if the plants have had the same nute needs with both light systems what about compared to sunlight? I haven't tried to grow inside yet but your grows do intrigue me. Am I wrong in thinking that inside grows require stricter care?
Well....I made a lazy decision, and now I am not gonna be able to cross the Blue Russian:mad::(:wtf:
I put the pollen in a film canister for only a few days, and it reconstituted itself I guess. Powedery pollen gone, pieces of the flowers are all green and soft again...ARRRGGHHHH So...in sumation, 4 BR seeds, 4 males, and lost pollen, way to fuck up a good thing whiskey.....
oh well, the HKxBI pollen seems fine, so the kush hybrid should still come on track
whiskeytango:stoned:
DoDo, I can't remember if I mentioned it before, but cool AV. The pest strips are great and will kill your critters. The reason it works is because there is a toxic chemical in it that we should try to not expose ourselves to. There have not been enough studies to know exactly what it (dichlovis sp?) does to humans, but it kills living things. So, like bug bombs, don't inhale. If you are considering trying to have kids in the future, maybe consider some natural shit that helps with control rather than eradication, like neem oil. If you follow the directions and don't put the strips in your living room you should be fine though. I would not use them in the last, ohhhhh, I don't know..., maybe 4 weeks of flowering. There's no way I would want to smoke or otherwise ingest that chemical. If you can find the strips I would buy a few extra because they will soon be unavailable due to the danger involved. Yes they work, and they work well.
lunarose, yes indoor plants require more care than outdoor plants, but as a reward you get more from them if you do things right. Outdoor plants could be as easy as throwing some seeds into a clearing in the forest and forgetting about them until fall. The easiest indoor plants would be in soil (just slightly easier than a simple hydro grow), with fluorescent lighting and a small fan. If set up properly they could require attention as little as once per week. If you want to drop some coin you could have it set up so you could check on them once per month.
Plants desire the same things though, no matter what the environment. They want 5800K light for vegging and 2500K light for budding. It doesn't matter if it comes from the sun or a microwave oven. If it comes from the sun, the plants will get a bunch of extra wavelengths, some of which will be used and some of which will be wasted. When we grow indoors, we don't try to mimic nature, but we try to improve upon it or extract from it only the things plants need or want.
Your question is asking if plants getting different kinds of light will want varied amount of nutrients. Hmmm. Not sure on that one, but I think not. Plants in hydro require less nutrients since they are more efficiently processed than plants in soil, but I don't think the presence or absence of certain kinds of light would affect what a plant wants to eat. Now I want to hear from an expert on the subject, and I'll be adding it to my list of experiments.
WT, Sorry your sperm went bad. Damn flowers. We're still on schedule as far as I know.
Uh, if by on schedule you mean something other than on schedule. WT please check email. Damn cops.Quote:

I use about half the recommended concentration in a DWC with great results so, haven't had a problem, yet.:)
Also notice that unlike HPS, bugs can "see" the LEDs and are attracted.
Het WT,
any other quirks you can think of?
Aloha,

The Reds are coming!!!! The Reds are coming!!!
Apparently the midge doesn't mind a Hot Shot Pest Strip...Could care less. Might even go as to say, they love it! For some reason, 5 days with the Hot Shot, AND THERE ARE TWICE THE BUGS!?!?!?!?!?!
Enter Big Boy,
The B-52 has flown over the grow. Deployed Pyrethin Bomb...Fuckers better die now goddamnit...
Other than that, they are budding like CRAZY, and nasty resin at 22 days flower on the HKxBI!!! WOOT!
Dern yellow spots from first grow are back, for those who were around. The plants are all getting lighter nutes, and PH corrected water?!?!? Is it the bugs, or are the plants (got CO2 running) using up the nutes too fast, and are getting deficiencies?
fuck man...
:joint1:

Aloha, WT n DB
Dem buggahs couldn't care less 'bout plant sap.
Dey want people sap. (the growed up flies, that is.)
But their kids!?
Argh! Just like the Fungus Gnats, when the larvae run low on decaying crap, they start nibbling root hairs.
Looks like nute problems because uptake suffers.
Killing adults is just spinning your wheels.
Might make you feel betta' but wont help da girls.:)
Time for a little larvacide!
The Larvae live close to the surface.
They can be poisoned with a drench.
They pupate in the top inch of soil and are then difficult to poison. (Pupae don't eat and hardly breath)
1/2" of white sand on the surface will stop future hatching and the worms will pupate and die.
Easy to water through, non-toxic and reflective.
Kill a few million for me,:D
Weezard
gonna try the sand...Did a soaking with a larvacide 2-3 times already..
WT
Good!Quote:

About the sand;
Clean, aquarium grade, white sand is best.
Got the tip from a Tulip farmer.
It works for F.G.s but, there are many kinds of biting Midges.
If you have the type of Midges that some folks call sand fleas, it may not be as effective. Don't really know Texas bugs.
"I'm not an expert, I just play one when stoned." :D (Love that line, stole it).
Guess I'm just worried about da "Ladies of the Light".
Got some closeup shot of the symptoms?
Virtually paternal.
Weeze
well I don't know about ya'll but Texas has some super hero fleas ...:wtf:
WT and Weezard, Thanks. I am certainly learning a lot here which is going to save me a lot of grief I was thinking all I would need to do is get the right lighting and bring the girls inside(G) I have to be careful because I have a tendancy to love my plants to death(G)
