Thanks. I still have some foxy seed purp and some afghani from my last grow. That's some very nice herbs.
Now I have to keep my head straight so I can qualify this next bunch o' buds. At least I've only got one strain with three kinds, the early hermie, the purple pheno and all the rest seem very much the same. It's still early in curing, but the early bud is decent. I'm going to touch off a bowl in a little while. I'm really anxious to try the stuff that's drying, of course. Also, I'm curious to know the totals.
Now I won't have to grow for a good long time. :(

Very nice work as usuall Shov.
Never had the chance to sample bubble gum yet. I may have to order some of that in the future.
Sorry to here about that lab, I owned one before and I would be compleatly devistated if it were mine. Hope they learned that they need a fence or one of those invisable radio fences.
GREAT WORK JG.
I'm concerned about drying. We've had rainy weather since I cut and hung the plants two days ago. I'm running a box fan and an exhaust fan in the dry room. The temp is only 67° so I added an electric unit heater in the room to bring the temp up for a while. Any suggestions here? thanks
I did have one bud with a wee bit of bud rot when I cut. I put that brattwuerst sized bud in a dry place after I picked off the rot. Well, I tried to smke a bowl of it today. Not dry enough, but very potent anyway. yessireebob.
Sorry to hear about the dogs.......its strikes me as amazing what people will let animals do....running around in the street (do you let your three year old child do this also???) and then getting angry at the person who hit them.......when the fault very clearly lies with the neglectful owner........(off soapbox....)
Beautiful harvest Shov.....well done!!
About the dead dog...the owner was very sad, upset but not blaming anyone but hereself. I want to see if the other neighbor's dog gets put back on the wireless fanse that they had for her or they let her run till she's hit. (they all get hit on this road, we've even seen a horse hit. I saved another horse once when I went out hand held it's mane until the owner came. Pretty site, me at the side of the road in bathrobe and slippers, the horse standing on my foot!
Anyhow, here is a photo of a pice of bud that I had to cut a little rot out of. It's drying much faster than the hanging buds.

woo hoo :) , looks tasty :)
Im probly going to be harvesting this weekend as well. What are your thoughts on the 36 hour dark period before harvest, ...make a difference ??
Peace
JJ
Well, I don't really know. For years the question has been, when to harvest? Wet or dry, dark or sunny? I've concluded from reading smart people who write books that it's best to pick a plant at rest and in good health (not too wet or dry). The hairy Spanish author says 36 hours of dark, so I go with that now. If you'd like to try and prove his theory, just pick some herb the day at the end of the day when you plan on shutting off the lights. Then when everything is all dried and cured you can report on any major significance in going with the dark period. Thanks.
Shov
hairy Spanish authors are all the proof I need. Into the dark they go...
Thanks
I'm unsure of that whole thing about Jorges article. It's been so long but I remember a confusion about it on this site. Some say that Jorges says 36 hours of dark before harvest, others say that it said 36 hours of darkness before flipping to 12-12. I do know that I've been doing it this way for a while before I ever heard of Jorges Cervantes. But I still don't really know why? :stoned:

I did just find a post on a UK420 site where a mate says that Jorges 2006 Bible is the source of the 24-36 hours of darkness before harvest will increase THC. I believe I read it in a magazine article, also mentioned in the post.

Hairy spanish author !!
Allrightynow,
after six days of hanging with a fan and an exhaust I put 'em in three 12' x 12' x 20" cardboard file boxes. I'll check until the stems snap in two and then cut the buds off the branches and cure in jars.

not so good of detail, them buds really look fine up close. Notice a couple of the purps? Hmmmmm! Still box drying for a while. unfortunetly, I knocked off a couple of bowls of keif when I shot them pics. Yi!
that cardboard is four foot across. (what? 1.25 meter)
dammmmmm that looks great.:D
Very nice Bounty there Shove,
Also I have read and agree with SSnstelth therory, I also do 36 hours of dark and have noticed the buds are much stickier afterwards.
Plus they are more yellowish therfore less cloriphill due to no photosynthasis, making the buds better tasting when smoked. This what I have noticed when I do it.
Looks like your going to have one hell of a great 4th and keep all the smokers away from the fireworks:)
JG
Shov, that is one helluva haul, my friend! My mouth is watering! You will have one heck of a party with all of those fine ladies - lap dance anyone? (Sorry to the ladies on this great board for such a sexist remark, but the idea of dancing buds was too much to resist.)
I always learn something new from every post and thread I read, and I really appreciate the 36 hours of darkness information imparted in the most recent posts. I can understand in theory why it would work, and to hear individuals' experiences with such a method is extremely helpful! Thanks to you and all the posters herein!
Keep on rockin' in the free world, Shov! Be good out there!
I'm rockin and burnin, Fat Elvis. :)
Yarrr! Nice booty. ;)
That should keep you going for a few, eh?
I caught a horse recently too that was standing in the road eating weeds at the edge... I had a leash with me luckily that fit the ring on its halter, and the horse (big dopey draft) didn't even stop eating when I clipped it on him. People gotta remember to check their pet enclosures!
Neighbor has a couple of teams of Perchurons. One mom, daughter team, Rose and Penny are eatin/shittin powerhouses. lol

I weighed the dried plants at one pound twelve ounces. After I removed all branches and stems the total weight is 16 Ounces = One Pound of nice buds. We should be good to go for a while. <G>

harvest looks wonderful, nice job staying with all those plants in that small space. I would def be happy with the turn out...1lb is a nice round number lol. again very nice work shovel.
Looking forward to seeing the Neville's and ak47 log, couple of wish list grows of mine. I'll be sure to check in.
A preliminary smoke report.
Smells like Bubblegum usually does, sweet.
Smooth taste, not much expansion.
Potency is strong, I'll say 8/10. Has white out potential as head rushes after a couple of hits is common. Good body high, relaxing.
Plants were 3' tall and dense.
Flowering 8 weeks
Yeild 500g/M²
That's great Shov....have a nice 4th....:hippy:
Additional Smoke report.
There are seven jars of curing herb, each has some distinguishing physical qualities. We were smoking two varieties, a red hair bud and a bud with less hair and sweeter taste.
Both have a great buzz, with no anxiety. Very energetic and creative high. I'm very pleased with these plants.
Shov
Sounds like you have great bud producing a great high, which you should not tire of for awhile to come - being nice in and of itself given the fact YOU HAVE A FLIPPIN' LB OF IT! Shov, you have done a helluva job with this grow, and I'm happy you have some incredible results to show for it!
Hope your 4th party exceeded your expectations for it!
Well, today I took half of the trim from this grow and another oz of trim from my last grow (about three ounces all together) and making some cannabutter. All chopped and mixed, it's cooking on the stove for all day and into tonight. Not sure what I want to make with the butter yet, maybe just a butter and jelly samich for breakfast tomorrow. :)
I just opened a jar with 1.25 oz of plant #8, which had a wonderful smell, different from the others. Just a little bowl, three light hits, and I'm set for a while. Hope all you fine peeps are enjoying your Friday!
