she was dramatically stressed by my over anxious enthusiasm
but, did not hermie.
i cut a clone in week 6 flwr because i paniced over a rash of males.
that clone is still alive, and slowly coming around and will eventually be a fairly hearty mom, i hope.

i'm guessing u'll love it, as long as the grow cycle isnt too long for ur patience.:wtf:
-we know ur growing affection for the 'haze' family.
-youve mentioned u like the fruitiful strains...
should be right up ur alley.

its amazing, how ur simpest and most repeated advice ("leave them alone","stop stressing them"etc, etc), turns out to be remarkably effective
i am officially the dope of the day:wtf:
like i said, just smack me upside the head when u see me:thumbsup:

You sort of ARE a poster boy for "loving them" almost to death. Every time you popped back on with some sort of "improvement" I would cringe.....
And you know what's funny? I decided to try growing after watching a friend of mine grow outdoors and I had like one old seed.....put it in a pot and ignored it all summer (and yep....dirt from around the house) and she grew up to a couple of joints which I really thought was the bee knees . :D And since I was so successful at it the next summer I went for the big outdoor numbers...and ....well....you know. :wtf:

ooo, this theory doesnt sound great.
is there something about RW u may have mentioned and i may have missed/forgotten?
listen, the 'instructions' on presoaking, werent really 'instructions'. it just said you 'could' presoak, with ur nutes, right in the bag they were packaged in.
ive been trying to stay aware of how wet or not the plugs are.
im using them on a few things.
-the 2 SNLxNH seedlings in the hydro setup.
-the 2 ASH seedlings i planted into soil and planted the plugs (is that bad?)
-the 2 clone cuttings from Maria (one is rooting like crazy, the other a lil less)
i do notice, they stay moist longer, but i'm trying to compensate til the roots get beyond the plugs.
the dam write-up on these things did sound very positive:wtf:
is there a wooly expert we need to consult?

There was no instruction about pre-soaking them at the correct ph overnite?

well, im sure that 1st seed of urs wasnt as old as my first, but i can imagine ur excitement.
and then there is that tragic story of genocide, yikes!:wtf:
im still convinced u just have a crazy paranoia of soil.
i understand all the coincidences, but, i think it was just extraordinarily strange luck.
Perhaps, Mother Nature is simply testing you:wtf::D

I'm sorry....I dont know the answer to the question about the plugs and soil. I will call my hydro guy tomorrow and ask.....;)
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
find out if he has any wool-specific advice.
you recomend what? these 'rapid rooters'?
ill look around the website at the other place fairly nearby.
i'd like to try to stay to the simpler products, if i can.
-

Yes....i'm learning to clone with them (the rr's) but let me talk to THE BRAIN first. :D

send those logging guys from the History channel.
i was forced to raise the light 6 inches today.
they grew PAST and AROUND it.:wtf:
I may need some help here:jawdropper:
looks like Galina comes down within the next 5-10 days, about 3-5% ambers showin.

Shov
thanks for stoppin in, yeah Shovl, its like a communist party in that room!,
only the 1 on the front right is not (either Blueberry or MangoKush, donator was unclear which, its very low and bushy, sitting on a small speaker to keep up on light with the others even tho they are all the same age.)
and the dramatic difference in Galina (front and center) and those TREES behind her?
Galina endured 2 toppings, LST and then the porta-Scrog.
Far too much stress as WH warned me, but i was out of control.:wtf:
the 3 trees??? topped once and basically ignored.:wtf:
i am this weeks idiot:wtf:
im figuring Galina will pull down around 30-40 g's.
those trees yeild are currently anybody's guess, we'll see in about 5 or 6 weeks.

CHOP-CHOP:chainsaw:
the sample mini-nugs i clipped last night were speed-dried for bioassay
1 small nug in da bowl made a happy camper, after a crappy day:D
so i decided she was coming down, RIGHT NOW:wtf:
as u may notice i have taken a few samples in the past 2 weeks.
wet weights as shown in pic
10g
26g
30g
23g
23g
and i prolly took about 10-15g (wet) in samples over past 2 weeks.
she'll b hangin around for a week:cool:
even at 25% of wet, i think im lookin around 30g:D

Oksana, Petra and Maria are having a freakin flower party!
Maria (front right) has been in flower exactly 4 weeks and is a flower-machine.
Oksana (left) and Petra (back right) are in day 18 of flower, 10 days behind Maria.
Maria and Oksana are 30 inches tall.
Petra is the over-achiever at 39 inches as of today.:jawdropper:
Of course, all coming from seed, genetics could be slightly favored one to another, but, this will be an interesting comparison of the growth cycle = yeild on the Blue Russian strain for me.
without any doubt whatsoever, this will set a personal best for me.
this is phenominal as far as i'm concerned.
one other interesting note-
i lifted Maria in the air, to look if any root was coming out the bottom,,,,,
there was 1 thick root which lead to a rootmass almost as big as a dollar bill laying in the drip tray in a lil puddle of runoff.
the roots were white and healthy as hell!!!:wtf:
i paniced and set it back down and walked out without a pic.
is this a problem??? should i do anything about it????????:wtf:
btw- the blueberry-mangokush mystery plant was a male, oh well.

Blue Russians invade flower room
Hey Rock, congrats for the harvest, nice work man... and the Russians look real good, you will have a big yield soon....:hippy:
sorry can't rep ya..
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
they look great rock.
but i'd probly top that tollest one.and end up with 2 colas insted of just 1 cola.
I did that to 1 of my plants a few grows back and it worked out well. and when I toped that plant she stoped gettin so tall.
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
haha, i already topped all 3 during veg.
i decided this grow would be simplified dramatically.
i only topped once in veg and decided to mostly ignore them.
so, actually, all 3 plants will have 2 colas.
Maria's colas are developing fast and tight, this is part of my learning about this strain. if i remember correctly, WH said this is a 5week/5week strain when she grows it hydro.
Maria was in veg 4.5 weeks. and took 6 days for preflower.
Oksana and Petra were in veg for 6 weeks and took 2 days for preflower.
so, in actual "flowering" time, they are only seperated by 1 week.
in the big picture, thanks for the idea, but i am not chancing stressing her at all with a topping.
I can still raise the light another foot higher if i need to.
I already promised them i wouldnt molest them at all in this grow.
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
so, what do you think about THAT???:wtf:
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
Congrats man
Nice grow man..Buds look awsome:jointsmile:
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
Looks good Rock, but don't top in Flower or it will extend the harvest time and diminish yield in my experience...
-
Blue Russians invade flower room
thanks gang
MVP, i agree, i have aggitated every grow, 'cept this one. i like the results so far and wont risk known stress factors.
it appears most of the growing-race might be over with.
they seem to be converting to flower-power.
this week i did water with Big Bloom and threw in a half-dose of Kool Bloom. they have been thirsty and drying the soil faster than i ever saw, but, they never got this tall either.
today's stats (somebody pinch me, i must be dreaming)
Maria 30 inch
Oksana 33 inch
Petra 39 inch.
the reason they are at even heights in the pics is because i put boxes under them to keep them even with the light and have adjusted as needed depending on their activity.
I do have a concern about the lower section of the plants and light penetration.
anyone think i should maybe throw a couple cfls in the bottom?

25g dry, on hand, so my initial calc of approx 30-40 whole, was prolly right as ive smoked around 5+g in samples by my estimates.
i can now share the joy:D
