Call the SPCA and see if they have a recomendation on a decent Vet... A good Vet is just as hard as finding a good doctor... I finally found a decent Vet after getting royally riped off by another...
Good Luck!!!

My boss recommended a really good vet. That's the one I called for an estimate on what it was going to cost to have him checked out. About 40 bucks. I'll post after we get back from the vet tomorrow and update.

allllllllright! just got back from a long day of errands and stuff. so we took jakson to the vet. 128 bucks for a lime sulfur dip, two treatments of revolution, the actual visit, and overnight boarding fee. they're going to keep him overnight because they said he'd smell pretty strong after the dip, and i figured that'd be good because we could vacuum the entire house and get everything cleaned really good before he comes back home tomorrow. i feel a lot better now, and i'm glad i didn't use that nasty shit from the feed store. so far, sounds like everything's looking up. i bet he's freaking out up there though. poor guy probably thinks we left him for good. i'm sure he'll be really happy to see me tomorrow. i know i'll be happy to see him.

I'm so thrilled you took him in! Gosh, I know that was expensive, but it was so good you did that for the animal! You're a good and caring pet-owner, On Second Thought. Hope Jackson'll be smelling back to normal tomorrow and feeling fine. At my vet's office, I always worry that my dogs'll freak, but they do fine. The vet techs are very friendly and attentive, and the dogs have other dogs and people to look at and bark at, which they really like. My impression is that animals tend to be well looked after at those places by people who like dogs and know how to interact with them. Let us know how Jackson's doing tomorrow when he gets to come home!

.
Time to bug-bomb your house too if you want to be REALLY thorough.
I found a good product that Raid makes that is a pyrethrin bomb. You can reoccupy the area in 4 hours. I use it on my grow actually, as well as the rest of the house since I live in a 2-family and I allow my tenants to have pets, so you can imagine the risk of fleas etc!
