AWESOME INPUT! THANKS!!!
I am going to 12/12 tonight. After I get the cabinet completely blacked in for dark hours...
BUT, before I mylar the cabinet, I think I will remove the bottom plywood so I can set the buckets on the floor. Fortunately, I haven't glued the PVC framework of the cabinet together yet as I was anticipating changes to the design! The top space I hope to be able to put a canister filter.
In reply to Monty-
They look really healthy to me just like you said. Also, if I lift the buckets, there is a tap root that goes all the way to the base of the water resovoir (<<< who the hell knows how to spell that! NOT ME!). And the tap root looks like a fish skeleton with 1/8 inch to 1/2 inch side shoots. I am also very careful with my nutes. I do not ADD nutes, but instead just do a complete water change and minor flush once a week. It only takes 3 gallons max for each bucket including flush water... All with dechlorinated water. (I should be using distilled!) And when I alter nutes, I do it in small stages to avoid shock... I am also checking PH, but the plant is not causing the PH to rise much over a week's time. I have to add about 6-8 drops of PH Down when I do water changes... Then it tests in the 5-6 range.
I have attached a few pics as usual...
One pic is the cabinet. Keep in mind it is not complete and can still be modified. Plus I am trying to find the FLEXIBLE duct! Etc...
One pic is plant 1. AFTER I pruned it and spread it. You can see how I cut the ends of the straws to hold the branches out.
One pic is the light and the glass cover method I am going to use. It is not "installed" yet as I am waiting on the flexible duct!
Pic 4 just shows you how much room I have to drop the buckets. I will just move my sprouts to somewhere else in the cabinet. Besides, there is a TON of wasted space down there...
u need a cooltube or something of the sorts bad.
your like 20 deg. hotter than i like in my room .
peace
Here is an update on the cabinets progress. It is not complete, but closer...
My cabinet is open so the temp is staying around 80 degrees. We will see when I get it enclosed! Hopefully the vent fan will be sufficient.
Looks good HighSeekerz.
I'd suggest a small fan blowing across the plants in order to strengthen the main stem. I don't know if you are to the point of dont bother since they've grown but keep that in mind on the next grow. I have heat problems also and have put another fan under the light pointing slightly up to keep some of the heat off the plants.
Thanks PigSnout. You would think I could find a fan for sale somewhere! All I can find is Christmas junk! And heaters! Anyways, no big deal. I put my sea of green racks in today. I will post cabinet pics tomorrow. The candle glass around the bulb with the exhaust fan pulling air across it seems to be working pretty good... It does need to be mounted better...
Well the cabinet is finished and I have went to 12/12!!!
I still need a little better ventilation, but it is close...
What should my humidity and temp be at this point???
Pic with the cabinet closed. The vent is out the top and there is a 48 inch flouro up there for vegging...
The last few pics of the cabinet. You can see I have added some SOG wires. When open, the front canvas goes all the way up. Also, there is still a small amout of room to raise the light...
