dude, MOST Doctors and surgons get into the practice out of the kindness of their hearts, and do it for the people, not the paychecks.
this will, for one, eliminate the greedy bastards from practicing and likely reduce malpractice.
yeah, that's real great... "i'll only save your life if you pay me *dr. evil style* one MILLION dollars!" REAL great.

Fair enough, but the glimps you gave creates quite the impression, man.

overall, it revolves around teaching everyone everything about everything everyone can be taught about.

Intersting, but not 'realistic', imo.
We've evolved beyond a system like this, it's called progress, and I shudder of the thought of going back.
But that's just me, I'm a sheep, and I really like money. ;)
Could it work?
Yes!
Even so, it's not likely that modern civilization would be willing to live in such a manner, or ever 'want' to regress into such an ancient lifestyle. We've become far too modernized, and far too lazy to learn everything about everything! Besides, time would be an issue!
We have everything at our fingertips as is, and all we have to do is work hard to attain the things we want. The system we have now works just fine, and there are many flaws to your system per what you have disclosed thus far...
Just my thoughts, man!
No offence, but I think your living in a dream world of your own design. It's just not a feasible ideal, imo!
Please elloborate when you have the tim, though. I'm more than willing to try to understand your p.o.v. ;)

I'd be on-board with you if the world were ever destroyed, leaving only a few survivors. I think your ideas would be top notch in such a scenario.

lol FRANKLY, that is the only way to get my ideals IN to action, because let's face it, the world is ignorant, fat, and lazy this side of the prime meradian and north the equator.
nothing short of an apocolypse will shock the people enough to make them realize what's truly important, SO while this WOULD work if you could get enough people to participate, it's not going to HAPPEN unless everyone were dying in all sorts of natural and unnatural disasters.
i have yet to devise any way of getting people to listen.
you display the best bet: agree but defy. while you agree with it, you wouldnt do it yourself unless everyone else did it.
and anyone else who agrees will likely take that same stance.
FEW people are willing to truly earn their rewards, they would rather just work for and pay for them, rather than do the ACTUAL work themselves.
in the mean time, im just waiting for the apocolypse, or trying to incite a revolt against the USA government.

I didn't mean surgery goes away because doctors only do it to get paid. I meant nothing of the sort.
This is what I am saying.
Imagine your world. Except, second generation. Nobody knows anything from before, now it all has to be taught again.
It's simply not possible to learn surgery.
If you wanted to take the YEARS out of your life to learn enough to make a real difference, you'd be dead. Because you have to concentrate on food. You could trade for food, except the only things you own are tools you need to survive. Everything else is just weighing you down.
There's only one way to learn surgery. Pick a partner.
He learns how to get food, you learn how to perform surgery. But there's more! You should probably bring on another for protection against the thieves. Sure, everyone's all friends in the New Age, but not EVERYONE.
And maybe another for entertainment. And another for clothes, maybe. And, maybe you should make a permanent home. It's not always easy finding or building shelter when everyone else is also drifting around...
You see where I'm going with this? All you're talking about doing is going back a few hundred years, except not really. Because we'd all know how easy we could have it. And we'd snap right back, once we re-learned EVERYONE DOESN'T ALWAYS WANT TO SHARE EVERYTHING.

If society has become addicted to money - then why doesn't govt. ban that shit?

the government IS society
funky, hon, your arguement lacks logic.
the next generation isnt going to lose anything from the last generation, if they did, they'de be dead.
the first generation has it's responsability, as it already does, or should, to teach the next gen of kids everthing they can. it's called passing on wisdom, it worked in the past, why doesnt it work now?
as for everyone not wanting to share, the greedy bastards can die for all i care really, but hey, that's just me, and im not one to impose my beliefs on others. i might suggest it a lot and push, but i cant force, that's beyond me.
now honnestly, i dont understand what you dont understand, so i cant really answer you well.
why is everyone all the sudden roaming around and suddenly forgot how to use a car and a gas pump?
everything's still here, the technology still exists, it's just not in controlled hands anymore, everyone has access to everything, and of course, if you havent guessed, weapons, especcially of mass destruction, have been obliterated on the moon or rocketed to the other side of the sun or something.

Right now, today, give up all of your worldly possessions. Hitch-hike to north carolina, or a likewise area. Find yourself a nice farmer, and ask to be hired as a farmhand, not for money, but for food and a small piece of land with which you can till and make your own food. Build a small shack and live ther.
Then, and only then, will I believe you can live without money.
See, all your vision says is that there should not be a standard by which all labor is shown worth. There will still be greedy people, and those people will only be able to fluorish under your system.
Let's go back to the doctors you keep bringing up. Now let's say that, God forbid, someone with a greedy heart learns the doctor's trade. Since there is no standard, what if the doctor wants everything the person owns in order to save their life? Nothing's stopping them, because the person dying doesn't know it could be done for cheaper.
In your system, some brilliant mind will some day stand up and say "hey, why don't we create a standard by which our labor is rewarded?". At that day, money will not be thought of as evil. I am not saying evil will not form, but, maybe, JUST maybe, it's a necessary evil.
who say's money dont grow on tree's
the standard?!? the standard is the immediate results! that is the reward!
everyone knows pretty much how to use everything. not everyone will have the skills of a doctor, but the vast majority would have an understanding of general health and nutrition and could easily diagnoss something or other.
(i dont keep bringing up the dr. stuff btw, just fyi)
AND, god forbid, a greedy surgon does come along, he'd get the hell beaten out of him if anyone found out he was stealing everyone's worldly possessions in exchange for saving their lives.
considering there would be no primary law enforcement, it would be like a gigantic neighborhood watch, friends would help friends, wouldnt they? god forbid there is a complete loner without any friends, who cares? obviously no one likes him, nad if i were in his place, i wouldnt care if i died or not anyways, i got no one to care about or be cared about, so it doesnt matter to this person weather or not the surgon will help them.
and if it's not a loner, it will be someone with friends, who also have other friends... friends dont let friends get taken advantage of, and would find a way to screw the surgon over and repay their friend with a bad heart or whatever.
there WOULD be a sort of government, but it would be VERY small, and under the controll of the people. no two villages/towns/cities would have exactly the same laws, every county would be as though another country, all within one nation, so that's to say if you dont like the way people work together in georgia, you can move to oregon and live freer, or with more restrictions. there would be a place for everyone. SURE there'd be new york, denver, LA, and chicago, STILL using the SAME tried and true cash driven society we have now, but all the smaller villages and cities wouldnt be heald back by this system, they would be permitted to flourish on their own power.
ALSO, i would do away with fossil fuels and anything that contributes to greenhouse gases and smog.
fuels would be bio-diesel or gasoline derrived from vegetables and/or cannabis, hemp would be the primary building block for pretty much everything (did you know about Henry Ford's T1? read up on it, cannabis was involved ;)).
im not saying there wont be problems at all, that's inevitable, but the good does outweigh the bad i would think.
in about an hour or three (depends on how i feel) i will type out an outline as best i can and try to anticipate your every arguement, and post it somewhere in it's own thread.
also, an idea i have been toying with is cash with cannabis... say one leaf = the equivelant of $1. cash still exists, but is split between paper money and cannabis, that way you can grow your own money and if you can stop yourself from smoking it... lol
but i also understand that wouldnt work due to inflation so, i have a lot to consider before i start shelling out that idea.
