I definatly like it and its got some sturdy stiffness to it which makes it REALLY nice and very hand to add all over the box for reflectibility. I just used a staple gun and measured the box out... drew w/ marker (w/ extra 1/2 inch to press up into gaps) and took a big ass pair of scissors and cut on line... form fit and press up and use a staple around the edges of the box, than ran a line of staples in the middle top to bottom. Dont forget to mind your staple size... too long and it will punch thru the box too short and it wont hold the material on! And like I said the scraps are very hand, I make a reflector with it :)
You can also use the silver coated pipe tape they sell for like $5 to press into edges to "seal" edges... folds into a " L " shape easily. Presses right up and in place.
I've got an update comming soon w/ pics, my usb cable's shot. Been snappin a few pics meanwhile.
Blah problems w/ uploads. w/e more pics.
its the door flap...
its the bottom lip of the cab to help light proof outter flap and to keep grow debris (dirt leaves etc) in cab area and not on my floor....
Focuses the intensity of the light to the plant(s)!
(pics are older shots i have left from OG posts.)
I guess while i'm posting retro pics... I'll post these to help w/ cabby ideas/probs/etc. This lil light was a 2 in one deal. I remoted the ballast myself w/ a few screws removed, and the addition of an additional wire (120v grounded heavy duty extention cord cable outdoor/weather rated). Just cut and rewire.
Lights also got a removable vent that I guess would be fitted for an aircooled possibility :)
(ps sorry for extra shitty pic quality. was a very cheep cam)
And last but not least --- a bunny... with a pancake... on its head! :p :D :p
i thought thats what it was but somebody told be not t use it because it creates hot spots in my plants
so this stuff is used to reflect light and light proof right
Yes, its opaque (and very reflective hence the name "reflecti-x") - where as mylar allows light to pass (translucent). The reason why your buddy or whoever told you not to use it... it is insulation. Any heat generated stays in the cabinet (which to me is a plus because that keeps the wood from getting hot and what happens when wood gets too hot? so hows that bad?). So, you gotta make sure your ventalation can take care of the heat. I actually sometimes (summer as example - winter I want that warmth) use a plexi glass heat sheild to trap it in the "top" compartment... Also it cut down the "room" the fans cfl's need to expell. :)
I myself love it and will use it in any cab I create. Very easy to clean... and if you nick it... and scar the material... you just take a lil piece of that silver pipe tape I was talking about and cut off a lil "band aid" to patch it.
Good stuff
ok i have another think to ask whats the difference between a duct fan and a exhaust dont they both to the same stuff in a way
Awesome work, past and present, BongHitBoy420.
