why do you guys hate police officers?

I noticed that a lot of people on this forum (and a lot of people NOT on this forum for that matter) hate police officers so much, that they are like fanatics.

Why is this? Because they take your weed and arrest you? They do not make the laws. It seems unfair to hate somebody for enforcing the laws that your elected officials are creating.

you may also say "i just hate crooked cops". Well what is a crooked cop? Depending on who you speak with it is either a cop who does stuff against the law, or a cop who does things for his own personal greed. If a cop pulled you over, saw you had weed, and let you go (or let you go with a warning) you could say he is a crooked cop. He was supposed to arrest you, technically.

Now granted, some times police officers can be condecending, or even rude to an extent. But they do have to put up with a lot of hate.

so my question to everybody that wants to answer it, would be what is your beef with police officers? I think we need more police officers who smoke pot. They would be more likely to let people go, and wouldn't be as likely to bust sellers and growers.

so the next time you get mad at the PO-lice, think about the fight for legalization.

ok here's a story for you....first, yes there are some cops who overdo it and set a bad name for the others....they are just empowered assholes...but then there are good cops that can honestly save your life, and i'm living proof of this...i drank a lot of liquor one time, probably more than i should have knowing i was gonna drive through 2 counties that night to see my boyfriend...well, my friends at home wanted to chill with me and get fucked up and all, so we found some xanax, and some weed, and i bought a few blunts and 4 blue footballs...well we smoked 2 blunts before i left to go see my boyfriend and i took 2 xanaxes on top of all the liquor i had drank...and the xanax and alcohol are not a good combination in that large of an amount, so i blacked out before i even got out of my home county....some people from the area where i was driving recklessly called the cops, and as they finished reporting me, i wrecked and ran into a guard rail on the side of the road...finally the cops got there and arrested me for DUI and open container and all that...yeah i was hatin' on it at first, but then i realized that i had kept driving after i wrecked, and i was in no shape to keep driving...i could have killed someone or even myself...so the cops stopped me and were not assholes about it, they just did their job, took me in and did the whole procedure and all, and i was gone that night and had to pay some fuckin massive fines that i'm still suffering over...yeah that part of it is terrible, but i always think, "what if i would have kept driving that night? i was so fucked up and under the obligation to go see my boyfriend, so if i had kept driving, what would have happened to me? or what would have happened to the poor people that i probably would have crashed into?" i'm not trying to come down on the people who love to get fucked up, because i love being fucked up myself...but it's really not worth risking someone else's life or getting in the law's way...if you're only hurting yourself, then it's your fuckin business, but when it affects other people, you can only expect them to interfere...

The cops are a rare group of people, about which IN THE SAME DAY say "Oh shit! It's the cops!" and "Thank God! It's the cops!".

i dont hate all cops, i just hate they ones who think they are above the law. i would say i hate the ignorant ones, the ones who take the harmless people off the street for something such as a bag of pot. really if someone isnt a threat leave them alone go after the people that are.

oh yeah...just got word on the news here in dc that an escort was raped my a metro transit cop while he was on duty. now before ya'll go off saying something stupid like the girl was a "ho" and she deserved it read this. he called her on his cell phone while on duty. visited her while on duty and raped her while on duty.

NO!!!! she did not deserve this and the police officer was fired after being caught. as far as i'm concerned just one more reason NOT to trust them. fukkers!!!!

Did he only get fired? If he raped her he should be locked up and used as currency.

What I see most of the time with young minors these days, is they don't even have a good reason why they hate the cops. Because they busted you, and took your stash. :rolleyes: It is theur job for one thing, and if you're dumb enough to get caught, then that is your own fault.

Me, around here, we have okay cops. I have met some, who could smell the cab of a jeep, reeking of weed, smiled to me and let me off the hook. Then there are some who are just pricks. They get drunk with power. Recently, I saw a man w/his GF on the the back of a mostorbike, who ran a red light, and wiped out hard, hitting the curb and fucking his bike up. A cop was near-by, I told him what I saw. I got no thanks, the cop didn't even look at me once, and to top it all off he let the guy go giving him no fucking ticket. The guy deserved one. He almost caused a major accident.

It is the dirty cops who I hate. I live in a city with about 75,000 people here, so there are no dirty cops really. Not like in NY or Toronto or something. They aren't bad here. They don't hassle me, I don't cause a ruckus, so I'm happy, they're happy. Most of the kids these days hate cops because their friends hate cops. Or their favorite skater hates them. They can't even give a good, legitamite reason why they hate them.

I personally see the police as performing a very important job, sure you get some who abuse their positions but you get that in all walks of life. I don't think people can complain that they got busted for smoking when you are knowingly partaking in an illegal activity, whether or not you agree with the laws is neither here nor there.

Placing a label on someone that just because their a cop means their an asshole is totally wrong, its the same as many people who believe that all stoners are sponges on the state.
