The phony war im talking about is the war in iraq. I was using the israeli-palestine conflict to point out what the effects of war are on ordinary citizens. Also, i was in another thread pissed off at someone trying to defend israel as some sort of benign unfallible military power that did no wrong. I just made a new thread on the topic as a result.
I don't agree with any tactics in this war. i'm against the whole idea of pointless conflict. i'm sure that makes me anti-american somehow. However, i'd be more willing to sympathize with the jihadists' reasons for fighting. What would you do if you didn't have the luxury of tanks and airplanes and big manly m-16's? what would you do if your army was cowardly and ran away leaving you defenseless? what would you do if your mom or dad or both was killed when an AMERICAN plane swoops over and bombs it? what would you do if your brother was taken away by american troops even with no crimes against him? JUST WHAT THE FUCK WOULD YOU DO, MAKOR?

Let's see...so far i've argued that the troops were lied to, the american people were lied to, the world was lied to. I've shown links and provided evidence with actual quotes. Pisshead has done the same. We both think all troops should be brought home because they were lied to. iraq is falling apart, the president has no plan. he only recently gave a withdrawal timetable AFTER the iraqi gov. asked him to. The numbers of soldiers dying increases EVERYDAY and we still have no real arguable reason to be there. We want to protect troops from being killed under false pretenses. You know of these false pretenses, but yet you encourage them to stay just so you can save face. Just who's fucking side are YOU on, makor?

The site where israel is now is not where israel once was. Anybody who even bothers to read up on the history knows that. I never doubted american soldiers doing their job, but THEY WERE LIED TO. that's the whole fucking point! Noone here is saying not to go to war because war is wrong. war is serious business and should be fought only as a last means. No because oil has monetary value. And while we're on the issue, STOP believing that every soldier is some brave freedom loving american apple. Alot of them are recruited from poor areas that know alot of crime. There are many, good guys but there are bad ones too. As much as it makes me "anti-american" to say that, it's true. not just america, canadians too. But get it out of your head that every soldier has your best interest in mind. It's a result of war, not because of any one country's ideals.
