To suggest that BP did this on purpose is crazy talk. Do you actualy think BP would commit suicide for 1% and change of their float? Just so Goldman would not lose money?
Many traders went short the day of the accident. Since that day they have almost doubled their investment. Maybe they blew up the rig.
I was one of them. Maybe I blew up the rig.
I'm sure Goldman has made a ton of money off this mess. Maybe they blew it up.
See what I am saying? In any large event people make money and lose money. Just the way it is.
Cap and trade will not happen any time soon. I do expect a carbon tax proposal soon though.
Lol, alrighty hun! Keep telling yourself that, and see how it works for you:thumbsup:
You said it yourself that you "Do nothing. And do it well. Watch the world go by."
Yet, I'm in left field looking for daisies. That was good.

So who is this BP Lobbyist Tony Podesta? Well his brother is John Podesta, Obama brains at Liberal Think Tank Center for American Progress and he also led Obama's White House transition team. Coicidence? Don't think so. President OBPama better get his NBC team on damage control fast.

Nancy thinks Goldman is resposible for the spill. And, it was done on purpose. Just so Goldman could NOT lose money on 4.6 million shares. Gulf coast be damned.
In the early part of the Bush Presidency. (you remember Bush Right IB,?) Dick Chaney met with a bunch of oil company exeutives (BP included) in a series of closed door meetings. They went to court and won the right to keep their names secret. In those meetings the oil companies wrote their own rules for energy production. Bush said no problem, and the wishes of the energy companies became law, under his watch.
This thread is a week or more old. In that time we have seen Joe Barton (R) Texas offer to give Tony Hayward a BJ on national television. Or just about. We have seen Darell Issa (R) CA explain that if Republicans had sabpoena power they would use it, not on BP, but on the White House. And lets not forget Michelle Bachman (R) Crazytown that says Obama should not "shakedown" BP.
Hell IB, last week you Republicans have royaly shot yourself in the foot. Each time the media asked "did s/he just say that? And in that week the electorate realizes that Republicans are owned by Big Oil. You ,my friend, are bought and paid for. Each day your mid term victories are slipping away. So I can understand why you are so shrill. Not only do you have Bush to live down, now we find out that the oil companies come before the people in your world.
Anyway the reek of desperation follows you. And remember Reagan was still blaming Carter in his second nomination speech. I think we will get more mileage out of Bush than you guys got out of Carter. A lot more.
Anyway IB feel free to ignore this post (like usual). We have grown to expect nonsense out your party. And Nancy, feel free to correct my spelling. If thats all you got, than thats all you got.
Have a great day all!

That was another thread, hun. Not my fault you got zinged for trying to school me without knowing how to spell. I still like you though, even though we disagree. The cheap shots don't bother me.

Soooooo... the democratic lobbyist's for BP are, in fact, not in political office? One happens to have a brother in office? Oh my GOD!
"slush fund" haha... i'm still wondering if Barton believes what he said was right or if he said it for the simple fact that it goes against what the democratic president had done. Well, that pretty much leaves no room for sanity. Something we come to expect from the people who like getting tea bagged by big business.
