I say screw option A, it's only detrimental to our freedom and even our personal responsibilities.
I'm moving to south dakota with some friends and we're going to establish a self sufficient community of several families, and be free, by our own power.
there are no liberties or privileges when you are truly free. because... you're free!
when your only job is to help people survive, in exchange for that same assistance, you can never lose your job, or your place in the community.
Help us help you help us help you.... :D

It was nice meeting you weezard hope everything's well
Stinky, GL on your new interview. You seem more than qualified for the position and if that doesn't work out, I'm sure you will find something in the marijuana community that will suit you. You look like a very educated grower, perhaps you could get your license and grow for a co op here in Cali
What is your definition of freedom? I think you have a pretty skewed vision of reality if you think you'll be free in your self-sustaining community. You'll just be slaves to each other instead of slaves to the man.Quote:

which would YOU rather be? a slave without a choice, or a slave BY YOUR CHOICE.Quote:

Freedom, to me, is the freedom to choose your lifeways. my choice is to move out with my friends and be dependent on them as much as they will be on me, cutting out the middle man completely (money).
My choice of lifeways to live off the land and contribute to a tight knit community, nay a family, is not a choice available in the city.
It's not easy to get out of the city either, it STILL costs money.
Frankly, freedom is not to say carefree living. freedom takes responsibility. however many personal responsibilities are part of law, therefore taking the responsibility away from the person, and granting it to a badge.
No, i am not willing to authorize anyone to hold any responsibility over me. that is not a freedom, that is a prison.
That's not a bad idea!Quote:

Do the world a solid, and get High Times to foot the bill for it!?
Sounds damn "round" to me.
How about it, Ms Attic?
Wouldn't hurt to e-mail a collection of your finer posts to the editor as a resume, ya?
Nothing ventured...?
When they make an offer, counter offer, beat 'em up, you're worth it!
Rent the crib out, move to Hawaii, (Sorry LV:D, we need her), an' teach dese semi-competent buggahs a thing or three about growing.
Charge 'em for it, at consultants rates of course. :)
Then document the lessons and collect from HT as well.
Wouldn't hurt to get two checks, ya?:D
Sometimes dem 16/7 weeks "work" are jus' mo' fun dan de 8/5 J. O. B.s
I'm only half jokin' ya know.
Here's to a bright future!
Weezard.
im sorry. ignore me, even delete my post. ^^ that is a much better idea, as it utilizes her talents.
Completely classless. Good thing another mod got to you first. Go piss up a rope, you weird spammer. Have fun with your planned community... my crystal ball sez: Community struggles along until a) its founding members' trust funds run out, or b) its members get sick of the clever little insults sniped at them by its Charismatic Leader. Infighting ensues. A poorly-filmed documentary may or may not be made. It may or may not then be entered in a film festival or be spoofed on South Park.Quote:

Weezard, I saw your post right when it went up but didn't have time to reply, and have been thinking about it all weekend. Actually I am putting together a portfolio of my technical writing to hand around at interviews. As for the total life overhaul, actually it is interesting you brought it up. This week I quit my other job too. I walked in and asked for a $2 an hour raise to put me in line with what other bar managers in the area make as base pay, and then when the owner said the economy is too bad for raises, I put in my notice.
I then raised my consulting fee (gas ain't free) and asked my best friend to move into my apartment building to help get some renovations finished, FINALLY. I want to take this time to end projects that have seemed never-ending, and tie up loose ends in my lifestyle. I want my calendar to be less cluttered, and my house too! I want to have time to USE that greenhouse I built in the build-a-long thread last summer~ lol, it sits empty, because I don't have the time to fill it!
I'm glad you guys are along for the ride! Your support is helping so much. I have not been feeling mopey at all!
