On April 19th, 2008 My Father Died of a Heart Attack

Since, I didn't bring this up, though I've noticed, I just found out from my best friend's mother that his father died, a year and a half ago. I couldn't call him that day. His parents lived up in Amsterdam, NY, and, he lived in Philadelphia.

Saturday, well, Sunday, at 12:30 a.m., he called and we talked for an hour. I apologized for not calling on the day that I found out. It was the first time we have talked this century. Or, maybe the second. It's been a long century, already.

I am so glad that Mr. Yevoli is not up there alone. I know that you should feel a dear sense of pride, every time you see this thread on the boards. Rebgirl, your father's face is burnt in my mind. Every time I see him, it puts a smile on my face (and a fish, in my imaginary stomach).

I didn't see this thread when it was fresh, RebGirl, just now caught it ... I am so sorry to hear of your loss, but very respectful of the way your Dad taught you responsibility ... (it has always shown on you :thumbsup:) ,,, God bless you and your Family :)

Heaven supposed to be a perfect place where we can meet all our lost loved ones. I believe it would be like a perfect life in earth, where we can do anything we want anytime we want, including smoke weed, where bad feelings have no place. If it's boring it's not heaven.

I miss him like crazy but I try to not think about it too much. That's just how I deal. But I don't mind thinking about it here, you guys and gals are just so damn loving.

i'm terribly sorry for your loss, but am incredibly happy that you had such a good relationship with him, and that things were on very good terms. it's such a disappointment when you can't get in those last few words.

i'm also amazed that i never knew you were a cancer survivor. not that i know you at all personally, but still, your dad must have been an incredibly inspiration for you. glad you're healthy :)

awesome that you guys toked together, i toked with my dad once. it was cool, we didn't talk about politics or anything. he did it so little that he just kind of got high and sunk into his own head.

hope you're doing well dear, i think naming one of your kids after him will be an honorable memorage :)

Sorry darling...I just wanna say i really fell sorry for you, but i'm sure you're gonna be alright. Time heals almost everything and you definitely look like a strong girl.:thumbsup:

I never saw this thread and almost feel bad that I didn't.

I'm sorry for your loss. Your father seems like a great man, he got you to think for yourself and instilled great values into you. Not to mention he had no shame in toking with you; something that is difficult for most parents to do I think.

I am not religious myself; but I wish you and your family the best. Life will go on and while I did not know your father I would say it's a very safe bet that your father is very proud of you.
