In the 70's, and early 80's, we could get ripped on a pin joint by ourselves, and a two-paper joint would blast-off a group of several.Quote:

Bring back the great imports of the past and you'll have better highs, with less smoking.
Yes,I dont understand. My oldest son&friends do it in blunts-ruins the taste but u do get WASTED
faster, you may not recall me, but you have had the same avatar for years. Can't forget you lol.
I just bought some really good weed. I know EXACTLY what you mean about skunk piss. Animal piss in general though, imo. Once I walked into my house after my cat got done with a whole day of spraying the furniture, took my sister an hour of explanation before I stopped believing she had toked up without me.
Hi
I agree in general with the consensus view that most weed is not the smell I want. The smell I generally want I usually describe as swampy weird outdoors stuff (like my dad used to smoke).
Anyways, the pot club I belong to (CALM) had a strain they called Chocolate Thai listed as B and as a strong Sativa dominant blend. The nugs were fairly compressed. The first time I bought it it was completely full of seeds and stems. I took the time and separated the buds out and picked through the seeds so that I'd have something worth smoking. The buds were small, completely flattened and crumbled out very nicely in your fingers. A true cannaisseur friend of mine came over and told me right off the bat that what I had was just some nice land-strain from Jamaica.
Living in Toronto I had somehow managed to avoid this amazing strain until now. The taste is minty and the "chocolate" aspect would come from the slightly fermented flavour that I would describe as almost brandy like. Really strong flavour when smoked, not a super strong smell in the bag but definitely noticeable when you crack a bud.
Out of the 10 grams about 1 whole gram was seeds and what remained didn't last me very long so I went back to pick up another half oz. This time around very few seeds and the stems that are there are large, not small: the buds are also much larger: still flattened and compressed together of course but some nugs are almost a gram, which I view as good for this type of weed.
The other day I ended up at a Jamaican friends house. He had told me once when I offered him a hit from a joint I'd rolled that he only smoked hash, not weed. Well, found out that was just a nice way of saying he only smokes good Jamaican sess (and busts out the hash to impress at the pot cafe). He showed me the tiny "brick" of sess he had, which looked very much like a more compressed version of the weed I had. It also smelled very similar but much stronger in the bag. Both weeds had the same effect :rastasmoke:
Long lasting high, perfect for music or concerts, total relief of back/nerve pain in my entire body. Grooving. I used to work out stoned all the time but couldn't with my back pain: this is the only strain that works for me now. This is two bowl weed for me (from the vape) but more than that will have me melt into my bed if I so choose.
Wish there was a way to post a webcam pic here.
edit: thought I should specify that the oz I picked up (as well as my friends) was $170 which is what I used to pay for ozs bout five years ago (for white rhino or white widow) or $6 a gram, which is what it used to cost at the BC compassion club :)
Ah yes. I live in Atlanta, HUGE blunt city. Everyone here smokes them.Quote:

But on topic. Here is my philosophy. I don't care how it smells, or what the name is, or if it indoor/outdoor, sativa/indica, whatever. So long as it gets me baked.
As far as the mids discussion that took place shortly up there. I wouldn't say I PREFER mids, they don't bug me too much. I use a vape 95% of the time, so mids will be better in those. Right now I have some mids packed in my vape. I'm not even down with the bowl and I'm ripped.
Mission successful.
Oh dude, your words to God's ears...Color me...perfumed..
Mannn, this is a great topic and I always think about this.. almost everyday. As a student of cannabis and a grower of just a few years I try to learn the history behind what I'm doing. I personally believe that the strains cultivated and grown in the native climates of Hawaii, Columbia, Jamaica, etc blow these "medicinal" strains that we have today out of the water. I was born in 1987 so I never experience the 60's/70's strains but I just dont see how overbred, indoor grown nugs can beat a Sativa grown and bred for YEARS in a tropical or subtropical climate. You cant convince me of that. I've smoked just about all the major strains coming out of the California scene and I rate them a C+/B-. Sure the buds are more potent and have higher THC levels but the QUALITY of the high is shit. Who the fuck wants that couchlock, tired, sluggish feeling that you get from most of those buds. I've only had a few buds that gave me that psychedelic, smooth, trippy high that I appreciate and love. I think these funny modern growers need to stop crossbreeding everything they get their hands on, stop worrying about NPK values, and lumens per square ft and take some original strains and experiment with recreating the environment that these strains come from. This new stuff gets you pretty high and I've had stuff that one gram in your pocket will literally leave a trail of the smell wherever you go.. but the quality of the high.. meaning whether it's trippy, dull, or an energetic high.. the quality isn't that great.
I want earthy buds, with a smooth, natural, even fruity taste. The stuff I get my hands on now rarely has a distinct taste or smell and if it does its not natural or earthy.
I think anyone that started smoking after the 90's has gotten severely cheated out of some good nugs unless they just know a great cultivator. When I lived in GA and started smoking in 2000 we were getting some great stuff that was either grown in GA or FLA or some of it could've come from anywhere, but I remember getting golden brown nugs that were so sticky 8 little nugs stuck together in one big ball to make the 8th, or nugs that were completely white with a green tint behind it, and lime green nugs with a ring of orange hairs around it.
Nowadays all I get is this so called medicinal bud that you cant notice any nuances or subtleties between one bud to the next. Sure it gets you high in two or so hits but the highs are usually dull in quality and lack that psychedelic feel. I've had my golden years of cannabis consumption and it just makes me wonder how much better bud from the 60's 70's and 80's could've been. I think it's better to have variety of buds grown all over the world in different climates, different latitudes and under different controls & then shipped in of course in the right conditions and not poorly handled. I dont want to smoke all this indoor bud thats been crossbred 50 times. sorry just had to rant real quick!!!
Those buds may very well have had Chanel 5 on them.
My friends went to Harborside in Oakland and bought some weed. It is like a weed super store. They got a few different types and tried them out. One of the nuggets smelled like perfume and they actually went back and complained. It turned out that one of the employees in the back room who was making the eights had put on some perfume and while at work and actually got the smell on the buds. They actually gave a replacement eigth and took the bad one back then made a rule of no perfume in the weighing room.
I had some of the sea thai sticks described above. I took some to U of Washington for a party and wiped out every one in the room. A guy saw the large thai sticks in my tray and said I could knock out everyone in the room with the weed in my tray.
I have noticed that indoor weed seems to have a better smell but that outdoor weed is better overall. Sour Diesel, Chem Dawg, Cheese, Purple Kush, Afghan Goo and Pineapple Kush will all hold their flavor long after harvest when grown outdoors.
