Yes, you are correct, my mistake.
It'll be a mad 4 days shopping spree when we all realise we're stuck with materialism again. Oxford Street'll be heaving!

Guys, it's simple and it's really not that frightening. I personally was getting curious about the 2012 stuff for a while, but it just aint that mysterious.
Every 2250 years (or so) we go through an "Aeon", one of 12 Aeons that make up something like 24,000 years that envelope an astological cycle that takes that long to complete. This is why many cultures all point to 2012, because it's the end of this Aeon. So quite simply, it's nothing but the alignment of stars and the mythology attached to those stars.
The Mayans were able to accurately predict many things *gasp* because those predictions involved celestial events like eclipses and star alignments. Any civilization that developes a good understanding of patterns of movement in the heavens can work it down to a science with astronomy and mathematics, and thus predict events. How the Mayans managed to work out such a complex science, one we've only recently mastered ourselves, is mysterious and impressive enough in and of itself. But these predictions, nontheless, are possible with a solid foundation in the sciences.
2012 will be little more than an alignment of planets and stars that only happens every so many thousand years.
I find it very interesting that the Myan callander is much more acurate than the calander we all use today and it is ancient. I also find it intersesting that we still use this callander even though we know much better and acurate ones are around.
NONE of us are promised tomorrow. What happens 4 years from now is the farthest thing from my mind. If the world is gonna end in my lifetime I wanna be around to see it happen. Or I will feel slighted. The only people that fear death are the ones that never really lived to begin with. This is just personal opinion. Most everyone in my family has died young for one reason or another. It has given me the impetus to live my life one day at a time with no regrets. And do the things at a young age that I would have normally put off until Im older. None of the men have lived past 50 so far. So (realistically) I figure Ive got 20 good years left. If I live to be older than 50 Ill be happy with that. If not I wont be suprised.
I dont know whats going to happen in 2012 but ive been having a real bad feeling and i know its gonna sit on my mind until december 21st 2012. Nostradamous says a comet will hit the earth in 2012 and in the bible codes also says a comet will hit earth in 2012. I think if aliens really exist we`ll probably come into contact with them in 2012 or before then.
It would really piss me off if its true because I have been working my ass off in school. I would be so mad if I found out I couldve just been smoking and being a lazyass all those years.
Im not worried, and don't think the world will end, and i also agree that we are not even in the year 2008 right now since they lost track of time in the dark ages. But i will be anxious that day i wake up on december 21 , 2012 and ill be high as shit, maybe get some mushrooms :)

The theory mentions the possibility and thought that perhaps the ancient civilizaions had help from extra-terrestrials in making thier advancements. There has been an increase in UFO sightings in recent years claim to have seen triangular like ships. Supposedly these are the beings that assisted the civilizations years ago, and they plan to return and make thier presence known in full scale again in 2012, but for now are just observing before their full return.
...I dunno what I think of that, but it is interesting. It would be somewhat cool. Also I wouldn't mind being a witness to the end of the world if that's what happens. Ive personally always kinda wanted to see it, and wondered how it would happen. But I dont think that's what's gonna happen.
