nope! no heat issues at all, with fluorescent lights the plants can be basically within inches of the bulbs.. as long as they're not touching.
i've actually been running a mini radiator behind my unit also just to keep the temp regular.

But HPS is a lot better in terms of getting light/ growing the plant then fluorescents right? can i grow a seed to a fully flowered plant with buds coming out of it with no problem? ( i heard yes you can, and that it seriously advantages the harvest, but i want to be sure) I got a growing countdown... 12 days until i start growing :)
i'm almost 3 weeks into flowering.. i need to start thinking about the smell factor (considering i'm in a 1 bedroom apt.)
as for fluorescents from seed to harvest...that's what i plan to do, i've got an assortment of lighting in there which gives it just about a full spectrum (3 CF's, 1 Incandescent and 1 grow pot light)
she's doing juuust fine... i actually sinned and took the top of one of the colas (i've dubbed it the test branch) at 5 weeks premature.. i still get stoned off it, it wasn't cured or anything... just.. snip, dry (hardly dried it) and smoke... i should've waited.. but i just couldn't :(
here's some pics!
enjoy,
Bob.
Thanks bob... Again, nice setup
I've got to work on air circulation in my small setup. I'm thinking a small fan inside and some in/out exhausts should get me rollin'
Yes, it would be alot better to use an hps from start to finish than fluorescents. Even though the fluorescents contain a better kelvin color temperature, than a hps, the hps will produce more useable light than a fluorescent. The only way this rule could be broken is if you buy a many fluorescent lamps to match the hps, which will result in a higher electrical bill. Plus, the hps is better because it helps the plant to better produce the all important THC, the main purpose of growing cannabis.Quote:

well the ones i have only pull 45W also, but they have a 150w equivalent..
Same here..... the ones i got from "Wally-World" use 45W but are a 150W equivalent.
I've seen them at Home Depot, Lowe's and Ace hardware too. But Wal-mart is always cheap
Substitute the above sentence with the following: Even though the fluorescents ("daylight or "cool white") contain a better kelvin color temperature for the vegetative stage of growth than an hps, the hps will provide more overall useable light than a fluorescent for the various stages of growth.Quote:

it will likely be male from my guess, but we'll see.
