I don't quite know how to say this 'properly', so I don't mean any offense by this at all.
As long as you're eating healthy, and exercising, that's really good enough. I know most girls aren't happy with the way they look but generally the guys are. It's good that you think about it but don't overdo it. Looking 'perfect' isn't worth your health.
And I'm afraid, after seeing my dad use the diet and a couple friends I had years ago, it's not very good. It didn't seem to do anything and it harmed their health.
Holy crap, I went looking up stuff on gluten and such and I found this Dermatitis herpetiformis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and I think I might have this O_O
It's kinda scary cause I eat a lot of gluten.

chart what you do in terms of exercise and eating. no mindless eating, i think of eating for performance not for pleasure. Drink water, lots of it.
Best advice of all is to immerse yourself in text about the subject.
WOW! I lost 5 more lbs...I am down to 93 lbs...I feel so...light. LOL
i can only speak for myself here, but anytime you loose weight for someone else, it is wrong...i am lucky my guy doesnt care how much i weigh, he says i am still me....but this is something i am doing for me...this is for my own sense of satisfaction and self worth, noone elses....
bob..you state people had health trouble from the diet...can i ask what it was?
I lost about 65 pounds using adkins and of course lots of exercise. It took me about 18 months.
I don't stick to the diet so much anymore. I have kept the weight off.
However it is very very rare for me to go on carb binges. I think I eat pasta once every 3 months or so. The only time I eat toast is when I am sick. I may eat french fries 2-3 times per year. Most of these foods make me feel really bloated now if I eat them. I do eat tortillas (living n mex) however it is around 2-3 and they only equal out to 10 carbs each. I use splenda instead of sugar. I think of it more as a life change rather than diet.
I am working on loosing another 20 pounds. I am kinda going with a math equation on that though. 1 pound = 3500 calories. So.. If you either up your exercize and burn an extra 500 calories a day or if you limit your food intake by 500 calories a day, you can technically loose 1 pound per week.
I heard..,don't quote me, but I heard it can lead to heart disease..
It's scary, but the next thing you should do is get tested for DH (as celiacs call it), or celiac. Here's a good video about Celiac of a recent show on the VIEW, with guest celiac expert Dr. Peter Green, author of CELIAC DISEASE - A Hidden Epidemic. They discuss DH, among other topics related to gluten and celiac.Quote:

I'm a big fan of alternative flours... my faves are chickpea and (fucking DUH) hempseed.
Personally I'd never do the usual style of Atkins just for the cholesterol, but my normal diet is pretty low carb and the carbs I get are all whole grain, and the protein sources I usually eat are mostly beans and as much fish as I can sink my teeth into, yum, sashimi....
When I quit drinking I lost over 10 pounds right away and I'm still losing weight (about a pound a week, pretty reasonable) even though I don't consider myself to be on a diet, but I was drinking SO much for so long that with those extra ~500-1000 calories a day gone from my diet, I might as well be on one.
