Well, I see you are from Canada so you clearly have no idea how to get a firearm permit in the US. You first need to go through a lengthy application process, full of paperwork and background checks. Next, you need to take a course on the safe use of firearms. Sounds like training to me.

EDIT: Also, everyone doesn't and shouldn't carry guns, but they SHOULD have the right too if they want. Guns are dangerous, but regardless of their legality people will get guns even if they are outlawed. All you do by taking guns away from citizens is place them in the hands of criminals...again take Canada for instance...bet no criminals there have guns =)

In my state even if you are given a permit to carry a handgun you must keep ammunition seperate from pistol. Well, thats real fucking handy. What do you tell the idiot thats going to kill you? "Wait, you need to let me get some ammo out of the trunk".

Thats why I carry a 12 gauge and a .270 in the rack with shells laying in the console. It's perfectly legal because they are not concealed. I have no plans on killing off a small town or anything like that so I have no need to worry about having a 12-15 shot clip in an semi-automatic handgun on my person. Everyone where I live has a rifle, shotgun or both in their trucks. We have to kill all kinds of annoying shit around here. (snakes, red squirrels, groundhawgs, ceyotes, etc).

I am not a lawyer (thank god, John Edwards comes to mind), but I do believe the only people authorized to carry a loaded handgun are law enforcement. If I am wrong, one of the cann.com "lawyers" can correct me.
