Harvest time. :greenthumb:
Let??s make a box. Holes in the sides, strings to hang buds from. Ok. This will be the first week dry box. The plants will be harvested, dried for approximately one week, then cured in glass jars for a couple of weeks before they will be smokeable.
Dry Box - pic #1
Ok, here goes the harvesting. Plant #1a. Decent looking. BUT, it has some kind of white mold on it. We originally thought it was spidermites, but I seriously think it is mold. It is not much and only on part of the top cola. The cola is much more ??dense? that anticipated, however.
Picture #4 shows the roots of the plant. They look to be rotted, which is not really surprising, due to the fact that there has literally been zero drainage the whole time. They have been hand watered daily with just enough water so as not to create too much of a pool of water under them and then hand drained when needed. Generally speaking, they have been mistreated with respect to drainage and root maintenance. But they are still producing bud. I??m sure the idea will be tweaked and improved for any future plans and that should be better still.

Congrats, your grow is looking great!
Large fan leaves have been removed.
Oooh?look at the top!
Fully trimmed close. All small leaves have been saved for hash.
Too tall to hang. Don??t want to cut. Isn??t she cute. Awww. :o
Accidentally snipped off a small bud while manicuring. Hmm?guess it goes towards science?hold on?:pipe:?Survey says:  Harsh, but definitely MJ. :stoned:

Thanks, ridethefire! :pimp: Gotta take a break for now. Gonna come back and post the rest soon.
The suspense rises...
How many plants will we take out...? They're all not ready.
What will they look like?
Is there any more mold?
Whaaaat dooo they weigh??? lol
Feel free to leave any and all feedback. :D
And again, thank you to all of you who are giving me anonymous reputation points! Thanks! I'm flattered...
For all of you who are interested, I am currently smoking some very nice herbage...smells DELICIOUS...and very sticky. The joint goes out often and has to be relit. :D But even when I keep it lit, it burns VERY slowly. Maybe these are the 45 minute joints LIP is always talkin' about...? :o
Stay tuned...to TheGreenFOG TV! ;)

fog i'm glad to see things are rolling right along in fogland. I still have to wait a few weeks till I can taste my girls.
How far along are the mothers of little buggers?
Sup f[r]oggy?
Dense is GOOOD... but I think that little gal coulda gone a bit longer. She was still shooting out all those white pistils. Still I understand your rot concerns.
sorry, fog, but what did you use for the holes on the sides of the box and what type of string/rope is that. i love the box and will be harvesting my second crop in about a week or so and would LOVE to make a box just like that
Hey, homies and homegirls...:pimp:

Looking forward to a smoke report.
The mothers of these plants? Well, that's a little complicated. I'll try to explain it briefly.
In the beginning, 13 plants were grown. Clones were taken of each and sexed. These 'test-clones' are the ones in the Rubbermaid box. These are the ones being harvested now. These 'test-clones' were not really even supposed to be flowered, but after they showed sex, we decided to leave them in there to finish.
10 out of the 13 plants were female. 3, obviously were male. The three males were discarded along with any related clones.
Of the remaining 10 mothers:
5 were put into the main flowering room on the right side of the cabinet. I think they were 13, 9, 2, 1, and I cant think of the last one.
2 were vegged (#'s 10 & 5) until they were too big to fit into the veg room, then they were cloned, and the mothers discarded :( But we have clones of them.
1 plant, number 11, was not looking so well, so we topped her and threw away the mother plant. The top has grown into our only current living mother, #11a a.k.a Kermit. This is our Bonsai Mom.
That leaves 2 more...I have no idea what happened to them. I forget. I'm trying to think...
I think #6 was discarded cuz it was weak...not sure. Well, you can find the answers back in the JOURNAL somewhere I'm sure. :)
Therefore, we do not have any of the original mothers left. If we did, they would be 126 days old now. That is the first DAY # in all of these updates. The closest we have is #11a (Kermit) that is a top. I'd have to go back and check how old she is, but I'd have to say she's been around for a while. Getting unweildy too!
Wow, that was brief! haha
I just went back and re-read your question, and if you are talking about the ones in the main flowering room, those are on DAY 41 as of this update.
DAY 126/49/41 is how I label every update. VEG/Bloombox/Mainroom

Yea, it says here they 'feel' dense...well, more dense than I would have expected from CFL's based on what I've read.
I was worried about that pistil thingy too and I thought it was a bit early, but the harvest was based on a couple things:
- They were getting rootrot...
- They were getting mold on at least one or two of them...
- They were really just experimental plants and not meant to be fully flowered...
- They told us what we wanted to know about rapid forceflowering after rooting clones and the effectiveness of CFLs in flowering...
- They were taking up precious space...
- We want some friggin bud! ;)

Are you talking about the dry box?
Well, that is just a cardboard box. Cut big square holes in the north and south ends of them so that air can flow through. Use a utility knife/razor blade or something. Be careful. ;) Then poke small holes in the sides at your desired height (the ones you see are not at the exact height we wanted, but...meh) then feed some normal string (medium thickness) through the holes and out the other side holes. Tie a knot or tape down and you have clotheslines for your buds. Put the box in a dark, cool place with good ventilation and leave for anywhere between 4-7 days. Then cure. Ping!
Hope that helps.
Whew...that was one long a$$ post. Now I dont know if I'm going to have time to finish updating the damn harvest day pics. :( Well, I'll try. Thanks for all your comments and questions.
Now time to go smoke some icky.
