Those little buds-on-a-stick are exactly what I wanted from them. They are getting covered in trichs already and smell so fucking good. I hope they're the 9-10 week pheno and not the 11-12 week one! I think they are, but we never got Betty to the end so I'm not 100% sure. They're more like Lucy than Mercedes.

Heh, she had a little belly on her too for a while when bcchronic was training her into a Z shape. :) He gets full credit for the name too, since she was his clone till he realized he wasn't going to get his shit ready in time to keep her.

She barely flinched at the re-veg, the other 2 took longer but they're all growing like crazy now. Your clones should do fine! I'm feeding them Advanced Nutrients, following their 8-week veg schedule at 100%. Same with the ones in flower, AN 9-week, medium strength.

It warms the cockles of my heart that you used the word cockles! Maybe below the cockles... maybe in the sub-cockle area, maybe in the liver, maybe in the kidneys... maybe even in the colon. We don't know. :D

Wendy & Wilma still great. They smell really mango-ish just like Lucy so I'm hoping they're the faster flowering pheno. They've got some brown pistils @ 4 weeks so I think it'll be alright. :thumbsup:

what can I say... sex sells!

I took a trip to the grow shop around 11am (I like working at home :)) and since I am short on space in the veg cab I thought I'd try out the grow bags since you can pack those together tight. I got some 1gal and 2gal bags, and a 1gal pot to compare.

:blueknife: So far, I don't like the bags one bit. I don't like filling them, making them stand up, their shape (too tall for my cab, had to fold over), how they hold the plants or how they change shape. Their pliability is as much of a hindrance as it is a boon. And packed together the plants get pretty crowded.

:thumbsup: I think I'll go with square 1gal pots if I do little plants or a SOG, and 1gal or 2gal round pots for mothers or plants for a scrog. Bags are pretty much out for good, I doubt I would try them again. It was a dollar well spent to know that I don't ever want to use them again. :)

So here is the cab today, after a bit of work transplanting these guys and packing them into the cab. It's a bit tight in there so it's a good thing that some space in my flower cab is opening up soon! :D

It's so fucking bright in there you see white after looking in there for a couple minutes... when I look in there for 10+ it gets really bad and I can't see a damn thing when I look away. (there are 270W of daylight CFLs in about 4.5 sq.ft)

Hey, thank you for spending the $ so I don't have to. I'd been wondering about bags myself.

Today I fed them all 80% strength nutes again. I retied Veronica & Jane a bit, and Oprah a tiny bit. They can't really go out much further in this cab, there's just no space! They're almost big enough to fill the space in my flower cab so I should probably throw them in there within a week or so.

I figured it all out one day and in order to produce just more than enough cannabis to sustain myself I need about 3 pounds a year. If I give myself 4 harvests a year I need to yield 12oz per harvest. That's about 1.3g/W with my 250W HPS so I know I can't get that much yet but I'd like to do the best I can. If I can pull in 3-6oz (2-4x my first harvest) then I will be pleased with the results. I'm using more plants and making better use of the space, and the plants are closer to the light and I'm using real nutes so I don't really think that's an unreasonable goal. We'll see if my ambition pays off.

I'm not going to put a screen in this cab so they're just going to be trained, no scrog this time. I want to try a 10-12 plant sog in this cab if I can't get a new cab & light before the next crop (Northern Lights, see sig).

I'll post some new pics of Wendy & Wilma (flowering plants) will be up sometime next week. They are nice & frosty, already on more of the leaf than on Mercedes or Lucy. YUM!

Oh yeah, a few days ago when I was tying Jane I broke a branch. She's the plant in the last pic... the branch did not even flinch! I bet you can't even tell which one it is (unless you can see which one isn't tied down ;)).

Here she is... what a beauty! I can only imagine how much more she might have yielded if we know how long she'd take and fed her accordingly... if only we could have known. Anyway we are far from disappointed, just wishful thinking there.

There's got to be at least an ounce there, maybe up to 35g. I am really going to try and use someone's scale to weigh it up when it's dry. The last pic here is of Lucy's nugs drying... look at the difference... :D :thumbsup: Not to hate on Lucy, but Mercedes was just a better plant on all fronts except flower time.

Thanks for everyone following the log so far, but don't leave yet... there are the 4/20 popsicle girls to harvest and then 3 monsters in the veg cab still to go.

After that I won't grow this bagseed for a while because I have a lot of beans waiting in my fridge that I am really stoked to try out. :D

Well here are the nugs. They were quite dry on the outside so I've started curing them. I'm letting them breathe quite a bit because once the moisture evened out they were still fairly wet. I smoked 2 bowls this morning and it was great! The smell is less fruity than Lucy, more citrus-ish. It's really nice, and it wasn't even harsh in the bong without any curing. :rastasmoke: :thumbsup:

I don't know whose scale to use but I'll try and weigh it up somewhere. I don't have any friends with a scale, and don't want to tell any dealers I know that I grow. What to do?!

Where I live you can buy digital scales at the gas station for 29.95. It's funny, in a ghetto sort of way. I live in the burbs, but a lot of the gas station/convenience stores are independently owned, and they sell lots more than gas and snacks.

Yeah eventually I know I'll buy one... if I do I'd rather just spend $100 and get a nice one though since I want to yield up to 1/2lb (maybe more?) each harvest. But then again if I knew where to get one for $30 it might be a different story. :)

Bree: I hope you don't have a ton of seeds. Here are some pics for you (and everyone else, of course) to entertain us during the weight wait.

Yesterday I pruned and re-tied the 3 clones of Betty, getting ready to flower them. While Oprah was untied she tried to flee! ... er, no that's wrong. ;) I meant to say that I took that opportunity to look at her roots. I was pretty sure she would be reaching the bottom by now, and it turns out she was around most of the sides as well so she went into a 2gal pot. Then she didn't fit in the veg cab, so she went into the flower cab! She looks great.

She got watered yesterday and so she wasn't fed today. I might give her water once more before I turn on the flower nutes.

A couple more posts are coming so keep reading! :jointsmile:

Not much to say when they're blooming, they look good, smell ever better, and hopefully smoke even better than that on 4/20. Fairly dense nugs too compared to the last ones. :rastasmoke:

they were both fed 500ml today. nutes given according to AN's schedule on their site (heavy dose!). The burn you see is old, it was there before I just haven't cut it off.

These are the other 2 girls who were pruned... Jane got it bad! It looks like I pruned a little too much so they're filling out for a few more days before they get flowered. I did a much better job on Oprah, I don't know what the hell I did to these 2. What's there is growing fast though so I'm not worried at all. The veg cab is much more manageable now too! :D

They were fed according to AN's veg schedule as well today, 500ml each.

The 2nd pic is Veronica... Jane wasn't felling photogenic at all. :)

I've got them tied very poorly as well, I know this. I just wanted some of them to grow on their own for a while and sort of slow down some others to even it out later on.

I wanted to wait till around Wednesday but the NLs are growing so damn fast that the veg cab was bursting. I keep burning leaves with the CFLs and so today I put Jane & Veronica into the flower cab, which is now also very full. :D

I'm still very short on height in that veg cab, but that's a story for the NL grow log now. This log will have 5 more plants harvested before it's retired.

Hey, man. Wanted to stop in and see what you have going. Not many new posts last I've seen. I dig your veg box, though. That's another thing that is different. You are using SOIL! Looks like just the thing to transport your little ones around in, though. :D

I've made it more of a weekly thing to update the log now. Partly because I've been busier, and partly to be nice to the c.com servers. I run a few websites myself so I feel the pain a popular, free site like this can cause to the servers, and the owner's wallet. :)

Funnily, I hate my veg cab right now! It's so damn low that I can't fit a reasonable sized plant in there at all. But it's good because I have a 250W light I don't have lots of penetration in the flower cab, so it keeps me in check. After the current crop is ready I am going to grow in a SOG till I can upgrade both cabs sometime. One short, bushy mother that can hook up ~10-20 clones every couple months will live in the veg cab. That's the plan anyway! Hopefully starting with the NL in there now.

Final weight of Mercedes' nugs: 32.2g ... that's after only about 1-2g smoked so my guess of 1.5oz (Lucy: 10-15g + Mercedes: 33-35g = 43-50g) was probably pretty close! :jointsmile:

My scale is made of hemp plastic, and biodegradable. Cool! :thumbsup:

I use an old postage scale (so old that 1st Class is .08 for an ounce...heheh)
I works good for 1/2 oz up to 1 lb.

Here's the new thread (it's in my sig too). It's sort of a continuation ... I'm keeping all the bagseed plants in this log. They're clones of the first ones so to me they're sort of the first grow still... somehow. :) I had to ask what you were growing in your BUBBLEGUM thread so you won't find me pointing any fingers at anyone for being confused man. :D :rastasmoke:

Sorry I didn't get these posted last night... my camera and computer just didn't want to play nice. :wtf: But anyway check these pics out because the flower cab is full again! :D

Wendy & Wilma here have been flowering for just over 6 weeks. The buds on them are much more dense than Mercedes' or Lucy's were, presumably due to the presence of the cool tube and thus being closer to the light. I hope they're done in 2-3 weeks because after I clone the NLs in my veg cab I want to flower them if I have the room!

Oprah's tops have started to cola (I can use that as a verb can't I?), by which I mean the # of fingers has tapered off to 1 again. She's starting to smell a little different already, but not like buds yet. Jane & Veronica have filled out their space nicely and are starting to grow larger pistils, and more of them. They've been in there for just a week.
