I just seal my room as best I can with poly and tuck tape. No silicone. Yes I use Co2. I use a 8 burner blu-ox with a glow plug and a Co2 senson and controller. I foliar spray right when my lights come on. Not twice a day. I hope that answers your questions.

Also do you use CO2, and why do you use Growth Excel at lights-on (usually people foliar when the lights are about to go off, so the plants stay wet longer and won't burn from the lights). Did you say you apply it twice a day?
thanx

It must be sum killer bud for that price. Thats like $143 an ounce which out where I am from isnt too bad I guess. An ounce out here can go for $200 at highest. Most quarters are $40-50. I am from Cali and I just hate buying pot out here in S.D. thats why I decided to grow. I think I am progressing. I need to get my PH down when I get it in the mail soon.

Hey tran, new to the forums, had about... 5...and a half questions for ya! LOL
(1)How much room do you give your seedlings in the soil bed ( how many inches from edge of the bed & between seedlings)?
I'm still doin as much reading as poss. while i collect my equip. but from what i've read, a 5 day veg. stage seems so short, (1.5) can u tell me about your reasoning for this?
On average...
(2) How tall are they b4 flipping to 12/12 (end of veg. stage)?
(3) How long do you flower for?
(4) What is your final harvest height?
(5) dry bud weight per plant?
-

I must say, that you definately know what you're doing. Beautiful weed :)

Your grow is fucking incredible man, a grow of that proportion would scare the shit out of me, think most people. You haven't answered this, and I wouldn't want to divulge more of my personal situation if I had a setup like that either but how do shift fourteen thousand watts, I'm sure alot of people would like to know your secret. I'm guessing you split the load and use some kind of generators and put the rest through the mains. Anyway man, respect to you.

Will be posting pictures next week. Stay tuned. LOL

"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
I plant a clone about every 6 inches. Thats from each edge and each plant. A total of 120 plants per 4 lights. Some times I have extra clones and I just fit them in where ever i can. I flip them into bud when they are about 1 ft tall. If I wait longer than 5 days to flip them they just get way to tall. Right now I have allmost every plant staked cause they are all falling over. For how long I flower it depends on the strain. Right now with the strain im using it is 7 weeks but I could go 6 weeks no problem. The final height of the plants are about 3 ft tall. When I harvest I think each plant is about 40 to 45 grams on average. I hope that answers all ur questions. Good luck.

hey tranoble, I'm really new to the indoor grow, don't mean to sound stupid but just wondering what an lr1000 is. I am trying to find the best set up possible and it looks like you know what your doing.
-
"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
An Lr1000 is a shader. It is by far the best shader on the market for growing on tables. I know they are made in the US. From what i know they are hard to find but if you live in canada I can point you in the right direction.

Wow...Wow...Wow... Let me just be the hundredth person or whatever to say... Wow. That is the exact! setup I want to do! Either one big room in the garage or split in 2. Gorgeous, if I can get to that quality over that many plants in the next year I will be hopping mad with joy.
One question. Do you know anything about tracks? I live in the city and I am somwhat concerned about running 4000watts because I am already a welder and have a lot of computers. Have you ever heard about using say... 2 1000watt lights on a track that move back and forth to simulate 4 1000 watt lights? Do you think a similar room like yours could take advantage of tracks to save electricity and expense while still getting nearly the same light?
-
"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
I have never used tracks before so I cant give you any help on that. If you would like to use less power i suggest using an Equalizer PF2. Check out this site and read up on it. I use an Equalizer and I save about 1/3 of my bill.

Good Luck.

"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
OSB is a type of ply wood made from compressed wood chips. You could use any 3/8 ply wood. OSB is cheapest. Polly is black and white plastic. Black on one side and white on the other. When your stapling the polly inside the table make sure the staples are on the out side of the table. If you have staples in the dirt they will rust. Rust isnt very good for your plants. Hope that answers you questions.

hey dude really enjoying the show.. Man you are way ahead of your time.. people are just now realizing the benefits of sealed rooms and youve been doing it for a minute. I remember the first time i visited this page, and it was all doubts, i even remember a page on OG discussing your practices, and people were straight h8ing on your style and wouldnt believe 3ps a lights.
anywho, juss got a couple questions. you say you put 30 plants in a 3.75 X 3.75 space under 1 light. How do u get 30 plants? do u have 6 rows of 5 plants? if so why? 3.75 x 3.75 is a square .
also, can you tell me about your c02 levels and at what point do you turn the co2 off ? which week? what level do they peek at in which week?
also you say you trim at 10 days into flowering and you take of the bottom 7-8 brances, at any other point in the grow do you do any additional trimming? DO you get single colas only or do you still get some side branching?
THANKS ALOT BRO u are a great sourcce of inspiration.

Hey Tramble, can you explain to me the specific reasons why you use the planter box? I re-read the thread and maybe I missed it. What are the advantages of this over packing pots together? More soil? More nutrients available because of more soil? Plants bind together so they are held more firmly? Soil doesnt need to be deep because roots can go horizontal more?
I am getting to the point where I need to buy the materials for my new setup. The fact that building a box seems actually cheaper then pots and would ease the watering...Im tempted to go this route.
Thanks for your help!!! (PS. Decided to just go with 4 stationary 1000watt for now and building up to more if I need to).
-
"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
Yes that is correct 5 rows of 6. It all depends on the size of the room im using. Some times i build my tables 7ft x 7ft. Some times i build them 8ft x 8ft. It all depends what the width of my room is. So on a 7ft by 7ft table I would go with 10 rows of 12. With the 8ft table i would go 12 rows of 12. With the co2 levels I have my ppm on my co2 set to the same as my ppm in my food. Be sure that your room temp is not below 85. Co2 will work its best if the room temp is 85 and the ppm are the same as your food. I turn the co2 off for the last 10-14 days. I dont trim at all after taking off the bottom branches. I only pick up leaves that have fallen on the dirt. Yes you do get some side branches but mainly 1 huge bud and 4-5 side branch tops half the size. Good luck i hope this helps.

I think using the box method is alot easier. When I take my dirt out of the box I cut it in squares then remove the dirt in squares. The dirt is bound with roots like you wouldnt believe. I allso replace the dirt after every show. * I never reuse dirt *
Good luck on your room. Ill answer any more question if you like.

Hey Tranoble, I saw how you only mentioned you used 4 HPS lights. Do you use mh lights? I have a quick question, does it make a difference if you use hps for the full grow vs mh then hps ?

I was in at my local shop and had a decent chat to get tips from experienced growers. I too have had a million very detailed questions clearly marking me as a newbie hahaha. But i askd him about the HPS/MH flipping and he said that the difference isnt that noticable to a new grower. He recommended using cheap HPS bulbs to help keep costs down, while learning, tuning, and optimizing yields through ways that WILL have a noticable difference, like temps, food, water, and a the signals of the plant itself.
I kno how easily it is to get overwhelmd with all the tech, and the details, and etc. But it really made me chill out about growing and worrying about all the many ways things can go wrong. I think as new growers, we want all the best equip. cuz we think that it'll help compensate for our lack of firsthand knowledge, but really you should keep it as cheap and as simple as possible cuz u're gonna b making the most mistakes in the beginning.
Buying a ferrari doesnt make u a good driver, so buy that junker and beat the crap out of it while you learn, then when you've gone as far as you can go with what you have, then upgrade to reap the true benefits!
jus my two cents =) cheers!

You are so right. But once you know what you are doing be sure to upgrade to decent equipment. You get what you pay for. If you go cheap you will get cheap results.

My tables are up on milk crates. It saves your back big time. LOL. I dont have any drainage in my table cause I just water enough so that 24 hrs later they need watering again. I do know alot of people that use drainage and all they do if drill a 1" hole in each corner of the tables.

I just feel that until you can consistently create good crop after good crop, whether it's right from the get-go, or after a few lost harvests, or until you can produce the most from a strain, the LITTLE extras really won't make that much of a difference until the elements that have a big difference are tuned. I mean an extra 2k lumen hps bulb thats 60$ vs. a general hps for 20$ you might as well put that 40$ towards *smoke break* good ventilation or better soils, power set ups, sky's the limit, but i know stuff like MH/HPS switchable ballasts are extra $ for such a little boost**, then an extra set of bulbs 'cause you gotta get one mh & one hps to utilize it.
** a little boost, to someone who can product 1lbs, and have it jump to 1.5-2lbs. is worth it, but when you can't even produce that, it's not the light that's the issue... but yesss if money isn't the issue then spoil those babes!

I love yr set up its really really nice.
Why did you choose just the polly rather than some mylar ontop?
Does the CO2 make up for an external air source?
Why not 2 1 ratio MH to HPS, HPS alone has tendancy to make long fluffy buds?
-
"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
I use polly cause the shaders I use dont shine any light on the walls only on the growing surface.
The Co2 does make up for the external air. I have no air coming in from outside and I have no air going outside from my room. This is why I have to use Co2 and I can get the best production out of my plants.
I use only HPS. I managed the biggest hydroponic store in Canada for about 6 years and thats the first time I have ever heard HPS bulbs making your buds long and fluffy. My buds are long and rock hard. I allso drop my temps as cold as I can in the last 2 weeks that helps to harden my buds.

Tranoble,
A couple of questions for you if you dont mind..
can you tell us how long the co2 gos on for each day. does it still go on and off during the dark cycle?
how many circulating fans do you have going in there. do they run at night also?
do you let the temp fall below 85 during the night cycle? do you need a heater to keep the temperature above this level
do you use a thermostat and humidistat. if so what are the settings set to?
do you adjust the temperature of your reservoir at all?
how far above the plants do you keep the lights?
Thanks. Really neat work..
-
"THE SEALED ROOM" 3lbs A LIGHT
Is your Co2 meant to compensate for not having ventilation, or is it an improvement. I mean to say, are ur plants better off sealed than circulated with outside air?
