I thought Stinky disliked those peat things...got a link to the jiffy pellets?
I used jiffy pellets in my last soil/coco grow....they worked ok for me, goin' dirty.....just remember to take of the net before the roots get to growing thru them too much....I forgot to remove some of the nets on some of them too, but I had no problems with them either...I know some people that don't remove the nets also, so it's your move bro...GL
D:thumbsup:
No answsers, so I went and bought the pellets. They look like quarters at first. Couldnt find RRs, and needed em TODAY.
SO
germed ANOTHER 9 SNLxNH
took 9 :jawdropper: clones
took:6 Church clones
I don't have problems in soil but in hydro my stuff will wiggle, even in the higromite rocks. Secure it from both sides or you may come in one day and find it toppled over or leaning far enough to pull the roots out and ruin the plant.
Thanks weedy!:DQuote:

I had a HUGE stem split on the Church bush :(:(:(:(:(
Noticed it 4-5 days ago, not split through, but I pulled it back against the meain stem with a twisty, and the branch seems to still be growing, am I ok?
Every little thing gonna be alright in the end.:)Quote:

Splint her split and give her support to take the strain off.
She will heal. They're quite good at that.
If not, "sacrificial limb" and time for the DETT
(Distant, Early, Taste Test!)
As to whether you are OK?
That's up to you.;)
I certainly think so.
Weezard
I like to make a splint for it but it should be fine if you took care of it almost right after it happened. I've broken many a stem and they typically make it through. I even mended one that broke off completely before.Quote:

Thats what I did...used twisties, its near the base of the gargantuan stalk, lol....SO maybe the branch will stay? Wont lose it?..........yipeeeeeeeeeeQuote:

Should be good....Its been 2-3 days already.
And Im using the jiffy pellets, no choice. So good luck to me there. Got alot riding on em. about 15 clones, and my last 9 SNLxNH. So everyone cross your fingers.
:joint1:

Owie! Cramp!
Atsa no Good!
FYI,
Back in the day, growers used to purposly split the stem with a knife 3 or 4 days before harvest.
Some would poke a nail through the stem just above the root.
Claimed it would increase potency.
Dunno if that's true.
Do know that Mj is tough.
It can take a joke.
Good thing too.:D
Best
Weeze
Sorry weez....
Me takes too much meds, can not translate well....lol

HAD to take a pic to hope you guys can see what I mean on how LUSH and FULL the Church is, every day I pull at least 10 leaves, but they are yellow and falling from not getting might. Even as open as I have this thing. And look at how the minor LST on the big branches is creating so much laterals. Sorry to spew, havent seen too many strains grow like this. The pic I took of the stalk is to show the split. About 4 in from the bottom where the FIM is, the right branch was split. Looks pretty healed to me, I think it will be just fine.
And lasty, Look at the amount of TOPS this thing has. Not just branches, but TOPS! Im happy........can ya tell?.....lol
Thanks you you know who, I will cherish this Church cut I got for a long time in my gardens. The single seed that could......lol
Whisky Tango,
Looks like everything is doing fine to me...I'll be pulling up a chair and watching from here on out...Like the look of your DGs especially....as well...
Sorry about your loss, with the little ones...I never have used RW, always used the rapid rooter type with never a problem...

Clones lookin unusually happy for 2 days cut. Not much sag at all!!!!
That IS a happy, healthy plant. When I was growing the AK 47 that was so kindly gifted to me I used to sit and look at it because it was such a nice looking plant.
I think you could almost start calling that thing a "small" tree.
Whiskey T, I love the new Avatar...and both of the Corpses flix... Captaian Spaulding cracks me up...But wudda' bout BABY, DAMN!!Rob is a lucky man....
D
Before and after shots of bonsai :jawdropper:
few pics of clones flowering now, close up is :jawdropper:
Some more Church bush shots.....
Dunno the height really, too mush LST. She was 24in tall in the 4th pic 16 days ago when I started flowering and did the LST. She HAS to be damn near 40in now if stood back up.
Im really diggin this bush, spen hours lookin at it, lol...Aside from being ganj, its an amazingly beautiful plant to look at.
Notice the resin on day 16?.....oh lay.....
wow Whiskey, thats damm purdy.
you be a bonsai artiste`:D
nice work.
and, yeah, got ur rep message, yet, that only got more confusing.
cant rep ya, maybe one of our mutual friends can give ya my email addy.
I got a question or 3,,,back channel;)
Rock.
Thanks rock!!!( Repped ya my email) I love to experiment, and since Im done with the LEDs, Im trying the bonsai stuff, wanna eventually get real bonsai ish , more wood, less vegatative matter and roots. I mean like a twisty branch all perdy in a shallow 4in across, 2in deep dish. Barley any root.
Trying now to see if the SOG 10gal tubs will give more weight per sq/m than a huge bush in a 5 gal taking up space. Maybe 6 10gal tubs with 16 12in clones per tub will do much more weight than 6 big ass bushs in 5 gal pots......wee soon shall see....
I got some GDP and bubba kush now, so Im pretty BAKED. Sorry for the rambling.....thanks everybody for watching and being interested in my shit:greenthumb:
:joint1:
hmmm, interesting concept.
i'm no expert on this board, but, my 2 cents...
reducing root mass in theory might be ok, as long as the roots you do have are able to get the volume of nutrients the plant needs.
but, i just dont see how a miniature plant could possibly have any real substantial yield. there just couldnt be the multitudes of bud sites that a standard bushy plant would produce.
but, on the other hand, if your goal is to just create a unique houseplant, of a variety you have a particular affection for, that might work.
one other thought. u may stress the hell outta it and it hermie, if so, watch out for your girls.
just thinkin out loud.;)
Exactly! Yield is of no concern unless I decide to flower it one day...Im sure I will after 100 cuttings or so, swap moms, dunno....just gonna keep playing with it now, it is putting out some gorgeous cuts!!!Quote:
