I wouldn't, others would (Jerry Garcia, maybe?) If you have fan leaves with stems you can try and push them behind the branches or buds.

i cut off the last 40% of the leaflets...barely stresses the plants that way...
WT
try bamboo skewers (just from the grocery store) they work well to hold leaves where you want them.
Im no expert for sure , but I just chopped some leaves on mine early last week, just to move more air through the canopy and expose more sites,
I know JGarcia2007 chops almost all his, and his results were amazing, but his plants were all so a lot larger...
thanks for the input guys. in the morning when the lights come on I will try tying back as many as I can and see how that goes.
i just gotta be careful to not fuck up airflow too bad
looking bomb, bomb
love LST'd plants, they just look happier with more nodes
Very nice grow. Those plants look tasty :)

My buds on the top seem firm frosty, and I'm only in my 5th week. During veg I had like no stretch. Anyone who wants to talk trash about t5's can just browse though this log and see how well they do perform - atleast in small confined areas.
I will take pictures in about 30 minutes - gotta eat first!
T-5 HOs and other high output flo tubes can really perform. Stuff enough of them in a space and anything can happen. They have very good efficiency numbers (90% to CFLs 65%) the trick is getting all the light near all the grow. Every inch of tube should have vegitation within 2-3 inches. Probably perfect for scrog.
Day 30 Flower
Things are going great! I'm going to test a little popcorn nug from the bottom underneath the canopy. I know its probably a bad idea, but I've been out for a couple days now and I'm really jones'n
damm mr. B. thouse look beautiful as hell.
have a hi5 to this one.:D
They Look Great Bro! How Did She Taste?
If you can pick up the July 08 Issue of High times, on page 83, you should see the nice buds this guy is growing with 16 T-5's
She tasted bad i dried in the microwave :(
the high was short lived but nice. its only a little more than half way done so i imagine the final product being excellent
i'll try to get that copy sounds sweet!
thanks for the great compliments everyone!
I keep feeding veg nutes for the first 1 week of flower then half/half the second week and then full flower nutes from week 3 til harvest. Also I like to give a full 24-36 hour dark time before putting them under 12/12. Seems to jump start the plants into flower so you arent waiting to see preflowers.
great looking plants
stay irie
Day 34
Last day of Week 5. I need to get a microscope :wtf::wtf::wtf:
Its been getting hot here recently but temps are staying relatively low in the grow cab. I haven't seen it go above 83F since I installed my vortex. And despite the cheap carbon scrubber I have, there is no smell coming out of my cabinet. I do, however, smell the carbon filter a little bit. Smells a little musty.
Here's a closeup of the blueberry. The pics in the last post are all of the bubblelicious.
Nice...they look super yummy...good work so far....
thanks! they look a hell of a lot better in person :jointsmile:Quote:

I'm going to feed nutes only 1 more time to the bubble, then straight water till finish. I'll probably give the blueberry nutes 2 or 3 more times.
Day 38 12/12
I stripped the lower growth on the blueberry, it wasn't doing anything and honestly it looked pitiful. I know this will probably decrease my yield, stress the plant, blah blah, but I did it like 3 days ago and haven't noticed a single sign of stress. They are really starting to put on weight, especially the bubble.
Sweet looking buds bomb, love that 2nd pic, gotta be happy with a field of buds like that!
clearing out the undergrowth won't hurt it. Very nice.
Looks beautiful mate............. HEAVEN! :)
I want some...............
enjoy blood
keep toking, keep smiling, keep burning :rastasmoke:
thanks a bunch guys!
and thanks shov for clearing that up for me, I was really worried that I might have stressed the plant to be a tranny.
although I am satisfied with this T5 setup, I would love to see the results if I switched it with a 150w HPS. Also, I would like to know if there is a difference in heat between my 110W T5 and the 150W HPS.
any insights?
lookin yummy bomb!!! good job..

thanks WT
Yea I do image that going to HID would add a bit of heat, those things are HOT. but you could always add another small fan blowing between the plants and the light , directly towords and exhaust port, and you'd be totaly fine.
They look good man, nice fat buds always do...
I think Im going to give mine a bit of a hair cut this weekend too ( im the same as you , about 40 days flowering )
Peace
JJ
yeah, i've noticed dramatic bud growth on all those top buds ever since I trimmed the bottom stuff on the bubble (the larger one), and I just pruned the blueberry like 5 days ago I think so it might be still recovering, although it has put on a little weight.
I have another question.
Is there a way to tell when to harvest other than a microscope? Can I just harvest on the suggested day from the breeder?
a digital camera will zoom in enough to see amber trichs...believe me, the buds will look done when they still have 2-3 weeks....patience is a virtue......

Pic #4 on my last update (day 38) is about as close as i can get without it being blurry. and thats in macro mode.Quote:

i just found a cheap ass magnify loupe at my local hardaware store for like 3$, might make you life easier :)

yeah i might just go to radio shack next week and buy one. no point is investing all this time and $$$ and then chopping too early!
thanks
The bubblelicious looks so good!
first, the HPS is warmer than the t5 a small fan should do the trick if the ambient temp isn't over 72ยบ or so.
Second, a suggestion with the little microscopes. You can buy lithium batteries in AAA, which will give the best service. Otherwise the light gets dim very quickly and then the scope doesn't work for shtt. I discovered that using a mini flashlight with AA batteries (which I have plenty including rechargables) works great, even better than fresh batteries in the microscope. Lay the flashlight on a folded handkerchief or cloth on the table so it points right on the leaf you want to look at. Just use the scope with the flashlight. ramble ramble....
I love your new Avatar! you know that red bull is chuck Noris pee. ha
Chuck Norris's tears cure cancer. But he has never cried. Ever.
Chuck Norris is so bad ass, he doesn't cut his grass...he dares it to grow...

really nice job bomb, and not just for a first grow, kudos to you!
as a CFL'er myself, it's really nice to see results like yours, and with only 110 watts, good stuff man!
