Well I found and think it will solve this. International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums - Feminised pollen
The hermi pollen must be used on a separate female, self pollination will just make the genetics more likely to turn herm. I guess that makes sense. :rasta:
ANYWAYS on a lighter note. My plants are 3 weeks into flowering and looking great. Ill post some pictures later :jointsmile:

Looks like they're coming along real nice. Mine have been flowering the same amount of time I think. Both are making me drool now. Can't wait to see what they look like in another 3 weeks.

And can anyone tell me why the top of the buds turn semi purple? I had a lot of things going in my grow: A 4 day heat wave (prolly around 100 or so in there), they were pollinated (purposely), dumped this one over multiple times, but the other one is a little worse than this one with the discolored tops. Not sure if its safe to smoke so yeah, any ideas? I've looked at some mold pics and rot pics and I'm unsure if its rot or not or if it was the Heat wave I put it through during flower.
The discoloration started on the ENDS of the leaves and worked its way back. So it was perplexing to me.

Yeah, I definitely am surprised since this is the first time I have done any kind of CFL indoor grow. But yours are looking way healthy! What strain do are growing by the way?
It's very dangerous to smoke mold, but I've always just picked any off and I'm still living. Doesn't exactly sound like bud rot to me though. Bud rot doesn't start in the leaves. Especially toward the end of flowering, plants can turn all kinds of colors. Awhile back I had one plant that was either green, yellow or purple, with no variation in between. There are many reasons for this or purpleness in general, but most people say purpling is an indication of improper nutrients. On my current grow, the hairs of the buds directly under the CFLs are turning purple, while the others are not. No clue why. If it's not moldy or rotten it's perfectly safe to smoke.Quote:

Bud rot comes from the middle of the bud, not the tips of the leaves.
It's probably not mold.
Thanks both of ya! I figured it wasn't any rot and went ahead and smoked some of it. See Opie, I didn't use any nutes, only used fox farm soil, and umm water (pH adjusted). So I def. had nute deficiencies. Oh well, buds were full of seeds and a great smoke. :stoned:
Really want to try a real plant though, but oh well. Hate Heaven, its looking good!!!!!:rasta::hippy::smokin:

if wanting seeds to grow with ,, either buy them ,,or better yet just grow a mother and take clones,,,
with low ryder you cant unless you prolong the veg peiod :thumbsup:
